Please note: Only a maximum of 15kg of luggage can be taken onto the aircraft due to safety reasons. Where there is excess luggage, this can be left behind with Rhino Safaris in Nairobi and it will be delivered to the airport on your return. Should you have an extention on the end of your trip, luggage will not be able to be delivered so cannot be left behind with Rhino Safaris
Denys Finch Hatton, an English aristocrat, was one of Kenya's great adventurers. He devoted his life to exploring the wild in style. In his camp, dinner was served on fine china with silver and crystal, while the gentle strains of Mozart played in the background. Here in Tsavo, where he lived and died, this tradition lives on. The accommodation is in large safari tents with twin beds, en-suite bathrooms, brass fittings, large mirrors, WC, hot and cold running water, and showers. All the tents have panoramic views of the surrounding springs and forests, large deck balconies with chairs, tables, day bed and a fully stocked mini-bar.
Day 1: London - Nairobi
Fly overnight from London Heathrow to Nairobi with Virgin Atlantic.
Day 2: Nairobi - Finch Hatton's
On arrival in to Nairobi, transfer to the Nairobi Serena where you can check in to your day room to freshen up. After lunch (not included), transfer to Wilson airport for your flight to Finch Hatton's camp. The flight is a memorable experience as you get a bird's-eye view of the African wilderness, and if you are lucky, a spectacular view of the majestic Kilimanjaro. On arrival at Finch Hatton's private airstrip, you will be met and transferred to camp where your luxury tent awaits. (D)
Days 3-4: Finch Hatton's
The next 2 days are spent exploring the natural beauty of Tsavo West, home to an array of wildlife including lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo and a variety of antelope, as well as over 200 species of bird. Game drives are taken early morning and late afternoon. During the heat of the day you can relax by the pool, or laze on your tent balcony listening to the resident hippos. For those who like to be active during the day, the camp organises a number of day excursions, or you can take a guided nature walk. Pre-dinner drinks and snacks are served under the stars on the terrace, and dinner itself is a special affair. A 6-course gourmet meal is served on fine china and crystal by waiters dressed in traditional kanzu and fez, as the gentle strains of Mozart play softly in the background: a truly memorable experience. Days 5-8: Finch Hatton's - Diani Beach
A final game drive this morning. After lunch, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your flight to Diani Beach. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to the Diani Reef Beach Resort & Spa for a 4-night stay. (B/D)
Day 9: Diani Beach - Nairobi
Transfer to Mombasa airport for your flight to Nairobi with transfers to the Nairobi Serena for an overnight stay. (RO)
Day 10: Nairobi - London
Fly back to London Heathrow with Virgin Atlantic. mauritius extension Why not extend your stay to the idyllic island of Mauritius? After lunch on day 5, you will take an afternoon flight to Nairobi where you will be met on arrival and transferred to Nairobi Serena for your overnight stay. Why not take this opportunity to explore Nairobi? On day 6, you will board your flight to Mauritius to spend the next 7 nights at the Merville Beach on a half-board basis. On day 13, fly back to London with Virgin Atlantic.
Please Note: The luggage allowance for this tour is 15kg per person in soft bags. Passengers going on to Mauritius may leave excess baggage at Nairobi airport at a small charge.
