The Safari
Accommodation is in small, exclusive camps, run on environmentally sound principles with transfers between each camp by scheduled air service. All meals, drinks, game drives, guided walks, night drives and sundowners are included.
Day 1: London - Nairobi
Fly overnight from London Heathrow to Nairobi with Virgin Atlantic.
Day 2: Selenkay Conservancy
You'll be met at the airport for your drive to the conservancy just outside the Amboseli National Park. Spend the rest of the morning on safari, viewing the elephants and other animals that inhabit this region. A picnic lunch is followed by the short drive to your camp with time to settle in before another short game drive and a sundowner at a scenic spot overlooking Mount Kilimanjaro. Dinner is served around the campfire. Overnight: Selenkay Conservancy Camp. (L/D)
Day 3: Selenkay Conservancy
Up early for a morning game drive in the Amboseli National Park and then back to camp for a hearty breakfast! Enjoy an escorted walk with Masai warriors and a guide before lunch, and then an afternoon visit to an authentic Masai village to gain an insight into their culture and traditional way of life. Return to the conservancy for another of those delicious sundowners and dinner. To view this region's nocturnal animals, a night game drive is on the agenda too! Overnight: Selenkay Conservancy Camp. Day 4: Ol Pejeta Conservancy
It's an early breakfast this morning and then a short flight to Nanyuki (via Nairobi's Wilson airport) for your transfer to the camp, located in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in the foothills of Mount Kenya. Relax and enjoy lunch and afternoon tea in camp, settling yourself in before you head off to look for rhino. Overnight: Porini Rhino Camp. (B/L/D)
Day 5: Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Another full day in Ol Pejeta with game drives and guided bush walks to keep you busy. Dinner is served once again around the campfire, the perfect place to swap tales with fellow guests. Overnight: Porini Rhino Camp. (B/L/D)
Day 6: Ol Kinyei Conservancy
Depart Ol Pejeta today for the short flight transfer to Masai Mara. Your camp is located in one of the most beautiful wilderness areas in the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem. Again you've plenty of time between lunch and high tea to get yourself settled before a game drive or guided walk. Afterwards, admire the sunset with a cocktail and then hop on board for the night drive. A much-welcome dinner prepared by the excellent camp chef ends the day nicely. Overnight: Porini Lion Camp. Day 7: Ol Kinyei Conservancy
A full day in the Masai Mara National Park, considered by some to be the Seventh Wonder of the World and home to countless species of wild animals and exotic birdlife. Make sure your camera is poised; you don't want to miss any of the marvellous photo opportunities that await you! Overnight: Porini Lion Camp. (B/L/D)
Day 8: Nairobi
After so much excitement, it's time to say goodbye to the African wilderness and head to Nairobi city centre for a night's stay at the Sarova Stanley. A luxurious hotel with a fantastic range of amenities. Simply spend time by the pool, reflecting on all you've seen, or head into town for some exciting nightlife. (B)
Day 9: Nairobi - London
Transfer to the airport for your flight home to London Heathrow with Virgin Atlantic.
Mombasa Extension
Why not fly down to Mombasa and spend a few nights at the Diani Reef Resort & Spa on Mombasa's South Coast - it is the perfect finish to this fabulous safari. Explore the region, or just unwind and find peace. The South Coast has everything you could wish for - beautiful beaches, marine parks and loads of water sports.
Zanzibar Extension
You can extend your holiday to the spice island of Zanzibar. Spend a few nights at the Blue Bay Hotel and Spa on half-board basis. Your resort is in the northeastern part of the island where you can enjoy a host of water sports including snorkelling and diving, or perhaps just a visit to Jozani Forest or shopping in Stone Town will do?
