Please note: Only a maximum of 15kg of luggage can be taken onto the aircraft due to safety reasons. Where there is excess luggage, this can be left behind with Rhino Safaris in Nairobi and it will be delivered to the airport on your return. Should you have an extention on the end of your trip, luggage will not be able to be delivered so cannot be left behind with Rhino Safaris
Day 1: London - Nairobi
Fly overnight from London Heathrow to Nairobi with Virgin Atlantic.
Day 2: Nairobi
On arrival in Nairobi, you will be transferred to the Sarova Stanley Hotel. (RO)
Day 3: Nairobi - Samburu
After breakfast, you'll be transferred to Wilson airport for your morning flight to Samburu. On arrival, you will be whisked off in a 4x4 safari car to Sarova Shaba Game Lodge, your base for the next 2 nights. Set in lush surrounds on the banks of the Uwaso Nyiro River, it's the perfect stage for the endless parade of wildlife, including elephant, impala, baboon and vervet monkey. An afternoon game drive provides the opportunity to spot yet more animals in their natural surrounds. (L/D)
Day 4: Samburu
Another chance to enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in Shaba National Park. Less well known than some of its counterparts and therefore less crowded, its riverside location attracts elephant, lion, giraffe, zebra and leopard, so keep your eyes peeled and cameras poised. (B/L/D)
Day 5: Masai Mara
Leave Samburu today for your mid-morning flight to the Masai Mara - the most famous wildlife reserve in the world. On arrival you will be taken to Sarova Mara Camp, your base for the next 2 nights, where you can settle in before an afternoon game drive on the rolling plains. You can also pre-book a balloon safari for tomorrow morning. Prices start at £239. (B/L/D)
Day 6: Masai Mara
A full day in the Masai Mara today with both morning and afternoon game drives. In between drives relax at the camp, lazing by the outdoor freeform swimming pool, drink in hand and listening to the sounds of the jungle. Evening pool barbecues are a great way to meet fellow guests. (B/L/D)
Day 7: Nairobi
After breakfast, it's time to leave the Masai Mara for your morning flight back to Nairobi, staying once again at The Sarova Stanley hotel. (RO)
Day 8: Nairobi - London
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your return Virgin Atlantic flight to London Heathrow. mombasa extension After breakfast on day 7, fly to Mombasa via Nairobi and transfer to the Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort, your home for the next 7 nights on a half-board basis. Mombasa, just 7km away, is a fascinating experience. It has a long history of trading in spices and slaves and is yours to explore. Haller Park is just across the road and you could spend an afternoon there. On day 14, fly to Nairobi for an overnight stay at The Sarova Stanley on a room-only basis. On day 15, fly back to London Heathrow with Virgin Atlantic.
Mauritius Extension
After breakfast on day 8, transfer to Nairobi airport for your flight to the beautiful island of Mauritius. Your home for the next 7 nights will be the Merville Beach on a half-board basis. The resort is on the north coast on Grand Baie where you will find a choice of bars and restaurants. It's a great starting point for big-game fishing and excursions on the sea. You can even go for an underwater sea walk! After breakfast on day 15, fly back to London with Virgin Atlantic.
