The tourThe tour

A 12-night journey combining the natural wonders of Namibia with the exciting city of Cape Town.

Day 1: London - Windhoek
Fly overnight from London Gatwick to Windhoek international airport with Air Namibia.

Days 2-3: Sossusvlei
On arrival into Windhoek, collect your hire car and drive to Sossusvlei for a 2-night stay. Sossusvlei is home to some of the world's highest sand dunes. Varying in colour, from pale apricot to deepest red, they rear up out of the Namib Desert to heights of over 300m! The best time to view the dunes is at sunrise or sunset when the colours are at their most vibrant. Overnight: Sossusvlei Lodge (B/D)

Days 4-5: Swakopmund
Depart Sossusvlei today and drive to Swakopmund. Check in to your hotel for 2 nights. Swakopmund is Namibia's seaside resort and a place of great charm. Nestling between the Namib Desert and the wild Atlantic, the town boasts colourful public gardens, graceful palm trees and beaches. The old colonial buildings and picturesque coffee shops lend it an atmosphere of a Bavarian village, as opposed to an African town. There are also plenty of excursions you can book locally to keep you occupied. Overnight: Swakopmund Hotel. (B)

Days 6-8: Etosha National Park
This morning, leave Swakopmund and head for Etosha National Park. Check in to Mokuti Lodge, your home for the next 3 nights. Etosha, meaning 'great white place', covers an area of 22,270sq km and is home to 114 mammal species, 340 bird species, 110 reptile species, 16 amphibian species and amazingly 1 species of fish. Overnight: Mokuti Lodge. (B)

Days 9-10: Waterberg Camp
Today, leave Etosha and drive to Waterberg in the Waterberg Plateau where you will spend the next 2 nights. Located 350 Km from WDH and towers 200 metres above surrounding landscapes. Gateway to Waterberg Plateau Park. Facilities include restaurant, bar, kiosk, daily gamedrives to the plateau - breeding area for rare and endangered white and black rhino, buffalo, sable and roan antelopes. All rooms are en-suite with air-conditioning, fridge, tea/coffee making facilities.(B)

Days 11-15: Cape Town
Your Namibian adventures over, it is time to drive back to Windhoek and return your hire car. Fly from Windhoek to Cape Town with Air Namibia. On arrival into Cape Town, transfer to your hotel for a 3-night stay. Cape Town is South Africa's most cosmopolitan city, with fantastic restaurants, amazing shopping and stunning scenery. Overnight: Protea Hotel President. (B)

Day 16: Cape Town - London
Transfer back to Cape Town international airport for your return flight to London Heathrow with either Virgin Atlantic or South African Airways. (B)
