Description
Day 1: Sydney - Blue Mountains (100km - approx 1 hour 30 min)
Collect your Thrifty rental car from the city or airport depot in Sydney and make your way to the beautiful, hazy Blue Mountains. It was not until 25 years after the arrival of the First Fleet in Australia that the Blue Mountains were crossed in search of grazing land. You spend the night at the beautiful Lilianfels, in Katoomba. (RO)
Day 2: Blue Mountains - Hunter Valley (235km - approx 3 hours)
Depart Katoomba today and drive to Pokolbin, in the Hunter Valley, where you will overnight at Peppers Guest House. The Hunter Valley is one of Australia's more scenic wine-growing areas, with the Hunter River winding its way through the vine-clad hills. There are around 150 wineries in the area, ranging from tiny to huge. (B)
Day 3: Hunter Valley - Port Stephens (100km - approx 1 hour 30 min)
This morning, perhaps you would like to explore some of the local wineries, then depart the Hunter Valley for beautiful Port Stephens, famous for its population of dolphins. You stay the night in Corlette at Peppers Anchorage. (RO)
Day 4: Port Stephens - Sydney (205km - approx 2 hours 30 min)
Drive back to Sydney at your leisure today, and drop off your Thrifty rental car at the city depot or the airport. (RO)
