Tour Itinerary
Day 1: London - Nairobi
Fly overnight from London Heathrow to Nairobi with Kenya Airways.
Day 2: Nairobi
You will be met on arrival and transferred to the Sarova Stanley for an overnight stay. Take some time to relax after your flight. You may want to pre-book a visit to the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage or take a walking tour to discover the ‘sights and tastes of Nairobi’. Overnight: Sarova Stanley
Day 3: Masai Mara
This morning, after an early breakfast, you will be transferred to Nairobi Wilson airport for your short flight to the Masai Mara. You will then be met on arrival and transferred to Mara Intrepids camp, your home for the next 3 nights, in time for a delicious lunch. Mara Intrepids offers superb, spacious family tents with a separate lounge area connecting the 2 separate bedrooms, an outdoor deck overlooking the Talek River and en-suite bathrooms. Perfect for families, Mara Intrepids also offers a family program which provides a fun and exciting opportunity for the children to learn about the wild from the Masai naturalists who specialise in plants, wildlife and survival skills. Day 4: Masai Mara
Your stay at Mara Intrepids includes 2 game drives per day and you will be guaranteed exclusive use of the vehicle for all of your game drives ensuring full flexibility throughout your stay. There’ll be plenty of opportunities to get up close and personal to the wild inhabitants of the Masai Mara with both morning and afternoon game drives, so get your cameras and binoculars ready and enjoy searching for some of those elusive big cats! Virgin Holidays guests will also benefit from a bush breakfast or bush dinner once during their stay (weather permitting). Day 5: Masai Mara
Another 2 game drives are included today, but you may want to spend some time relaxing and enjoying the facilities at the Camp. There may be the opportunity to take a two-hour nature walk with the Masai naturalist where you will identify more than 30 species of plants, spot a variety of birds and pick up some survival tips like knowing how to behave in the presence of wild animals. Guests at Mara Intrepids can also visit the Masai manyattas where a local Masai guide will give you an intriguing account of the Masai people and their traditions that have stood the test of time and still prevail on the plains. Day 6: Nairobi
Take advantage of your last game drive this morning before taking a short flight back to Nairobi. Depending on flight schedules, you may need to spend an extra night in Nairobi before your flight home. Alternatively, why not extend your stay on the beautiful beaches of Mombasa? (B)
