Day 1: London – Nairobi
Fly overnight from London Heathrow to Nairobi with Virgin Atlantic.
Day 2: Nairobi
On arrival transfer to your hotel. There is a pre-bookable optional excursion of lunch at the ever popular Tamambo Restaurant followed by a visit to the Giraffe Centre home to the endangered Rothschild Giraffe. Overnight: Jacaranda Hotel.
Day 3: Lake Nakuru
Pick up from the hotel and head north into the Rift Valley and Lake Nakuru (3-hour drive), famed for its vast flocks of flamingo and pelicans. Enjoy a game drive in Nakuru National Park, home to rhino, lion, leopard, buffalo and giraffe. Lunch will be at Lake Nakuru Lodge which sits high above the reserve so you will get stunning panaromic views across the savannah and down to Lake Nakuru, then continue on to Lake Naivasha Simba Lodge for dinner and overnight. Day 4: Masai Mara
After breakfast, head for the Masai Mara (4-hour drive), Kenya's premier wildlife reserve. The Masai Mara has endless plains punctuated by flat-top acacia trees and home to an array of wildlife. Every year the reserve plays host to one of the world's great wildlife spectacles, the annual wildebeest migration. Over 1.4 million wildebeest and 200,000 zebra and gazelle, relentlessly tracked by Africa's great predators, migrate over 1,800 miles each year in search of rain-ripened grass from late July until the end of September. Check in to Mara Simba Lodge, home for the next 2 nights. After lunch, relax before embarking on an afternoon game drive. (B/L/D)
Day 5: Masai Mara
If you have pre-booked a balloon excursion you’ll be up early for this amazing experience. Prices from £279 per person. Spend the rest of the day enjoying a morning and afternoon game drive and the opportunity to spot Africa's "Big Five": lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo. (B/L/D)
Day 6: Nairobi
After breakfast, return to Nairobi arriving back around lunch time for your onward flight. (B)
