Days 1-2: London – KilimanjaroDays 1-2: London – Kilimanjaro

Fly overnight from London Heathrow to Kilimanjaro airport via Nairobi. On arrival, transfer to Mount Meru Game Lodge and Sanctuary for your first night's stay. There is a free guided excursion of the local area giving you a glimpse of authentic Tanzania. Overnight: Mount Meru Game Lodge. (D)

 

Day 3: Tarangire National ParkDay 3: Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, depart for Tarangire in time for lunch (3 hrs), followed by a game drive. This untamed area abounds with game. Overnight: Tarangire Sopa Lodge. (B/L/D)

 

Day 4: Lake ManyaraDay 4: Lake Manyara

After breakfast, head for Lake Manyara (2 hrs). Arrive at your lodge where you will enjoy an afternoon game drive before dinner. Overnight: Manyara Serena Lodge. (B/L/D)

 

Days 5-6: SerengetiDays 5-6: Serengeti

After breakfast, head to the Serengeti National Park (4 hrs), Tanzania's largest wildlife conservation area. Home for the next 2 nights is a lodge set in Nyarboro Hills in the southwest of the park. After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive. Next day you have morning and afternoon game drives on these famous plains. You may wish to experience the thrill of a hot air balloon safari. Prices start from £345 per person and can be pre-booked. Overnight: Serengeti Sopa Lodge. (B/L/D)

 

Days 7-8: Ngorongoro CraterDays 7-8: Ngorongoro Crater

Today head south to Ngorongoro Crater (6 hrs) stoping for a picnic lunch at Olduvai Gorge where the earliest remains of mankind were found before arriving at your lodge for your 2-night stay. The next day starts with a full day game drive in the crater, a 260sq km natural amphitheatre with grasslands, swamps, lakes, rivers, woodlands and even dunes. Overnight: Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge. (B/L/D)

 

Day 9: Arusha/KilimanjaroDay 9: Arusha/Kilimanjaro

After breakfast, return to Arusha, stopping off at Arusha Coffee Lodge for lunch (time permitting) and on to Arusha airport for your flight to Zanzibar or straight to Kilimanjaro airport for your flight back to Nairobi. (B)
