Description
Day 1: Darwin - Kakadu
Leave Darwin at 6.45am and travel into Kakadu National Park. Take a guided walk to view Aboriginal rock art at Nourlangie Rock. After lunch, join the famous Yellow Water Billabong cruise and then visit the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre to view the informative displays and exhibits. The next 2 nights will be spent at Gagudju Crocodile Holiday Inn, Kakadu. (L)
Day 2: Jim Jim and Twin Falls
Travel by small 4WD to Jim Jim Falls car park, then take a 900m bushwalk to the Jim Jim Falls plunge pool. The walk is rugged and only suitable for people with a reasonable level of fitness. At the plunge pool there is time to swim, relax and enjoy the scenery, and morning tea will also be served. After exploring Jim Jim Falls, travel to the picnic lunch area. After lunch, board a boat to travel up the first part of the gorge. Following this, there is a 45-min walk over rocks and along rock ledges, after which you can relax and enjoy the spectacular scenery at the base of Twin Falls. Please Note: There is no swimming allowed at Twin Falls. (L)
Day 3: Kakadu - Darwin
This morning, stop at Ubirr with a short walk to view Aboriginal rock art. Join the Guluyambi cruise along the East Alligator River in search of saltwater crocodiles. You will have an Aboriginal guide with you and with the special permission of the local people, you will be able to go ashore in Arnhem Land. Visit the Bowali Visitor Centre, before returning to Darwin where your tour concludes at approx 7.30pm. (L)
