In Barossa Valley Wineries:
3 days/2 nights - a self-drive with beautiful scenery, charming villages and fine food and wine.
Description
Day 1: Adelaide - Barossa Valley (70km - approx 1 hour)
Collect your Thrifty hire car from Adelaide's city or airport depot and head for the Barossa Valley, an area of softly rolling hills with a Mediterranean climate that is perfect for wine growing. Maybe stop at the Jacob's Creek Visitor Centre in historic Lyndoch, to enjoy cheese and wine. Continue north to the leafy, German-influenced Tanunda, a great place for lunch. Head onward to The Lodge Country House, opposite Seppelt Winery, where you will stay 2 nights. It's a charming old place with a grand lounge, elegant dining room and lovely, rambling gardens. (RO)
Day 2: Barossa Valley
After breakfast, today is your opportunity to discover all that the Barossa Valley has to offer. Despite it being Australia's best known wine region, there's more to see (and taste) than just the vineyards and their products. Visit the Whispering Wall, stop by Angus Park Fruit Company in Angaston - where the Barossa's rich regional food scene comes to life - or take a Heritage Town Walk. (B)
Day 3: Barossa Valley - Adelaide (70km - approx 1 hour)
Depart Barossa Valley after breakfast and return your Thrifty hire car to the Adelaide city or airport depot. (B)
