Tour Information
Day 1: Bangkok – Kanchanaburi
Travel by road to Kanchanburi Province, home to the famous River Kwai. A highlight of your day will be a train ride along the ‘Death Railway’. Board the train for the journey to Nam-Tok, the last remaining station at the end of the original Thailand-Burma railway line. The train passes over some precarious-looking wooden bridges and viaducts that are built along the mountainside and slows down for some fabulous photo opportunities of the stunning river and jungle scenery. After a Thai-style lunch, visit Kaeng Lawa Cave, reached by long-tail boat on the Kwai Noi River. Climb up to the cave to see the fantastic stalagmites and stalactites before a European dinner tonight and overnight stay at The River Kwai Village Hotel, in a River Wing Room. (L/D)
Day 2: At leisure - Bangkok
Enjoy time at leisure to relax in the resort or explore the surrounding area. A selection of optional excursions and activities are available locally at an extra charge, including elephant treks, bamboo rafting, mountain biking, Thai massage, kayaking, Pha Tad Waterfalls, Hellfire pass and Three Pagodas Pass (the border with Myanmar). After lunch, return to Bangkok. (B/L)
