TripAdvisor Traveller Rating:
I just returned to Vancouver, BC after taking 28 first time visitors to Barbados. We all stayed at Amaryllis and It totally exceeded my expectations. I would definitely recommend it to others. The... Read more 3rd floor seaview room, with a veranda was perfect. Check. Victor, Joyce, Sinclair, Alicia, and the other staff members whose names escape me now, were attentive and made it feel very much like home. Check. I Enjoyed the meals especially the themed buffet lunches & dinners...Caribbean buffet, the Sunday buffet and best of all the Independence buffet lunch, mix all that with the staff singing along and dancing with the guests, Priceless. Breakfast buffet was never boring either as they mixed it up with Bajan specialties. The hotel is quiet, the rooms clean and comfortable, beach is protected by a reef so very safe for children. Centrally located and the in the Historic Garrison area, easy walk to Bridgetown and on the bus route so transportation available all day and night. Amaryllis is certainly a best kept secret. I met guests who had been returning for years but don't want the word out as it could spoil this piece of paradise. I concur! Read less

Staff were friendly and helpful. One of the staff found a baby turtle that had come up into the hotel in the evening- she was really sweet and shared that with me - a highlight of the stay for sure. The service was sometimes slow but that seems to be the nature of being in the Caribbean. Relax mon. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. Read less

Read more arrival to the hotel a lovely guy who carried our bags got us both a fruit punch after our long flight. The 1st thing I noticed was the friendliness of the staff at the Amaryllis. The hotel was nice and I felt very comfortable and after doing a lot of travelling with my fiancé it was by far value for money. The breakfast was quite standard and we decided to go bed and breakfast which is what I would recommend if you enjoy eating out and meeting new people along the way. Every time we ate the food was lovely. We ate at Mama Mias, Tapas, Blakeys and above my favourite was Champers. Champers offered a 3 course meal for $99 BDS each overlooking the beach and the food and service was outstanding. This hotel is one in which we would come back to and I thought that all staff were fabulous! Perfect holiday! Read less
