Wow. My wife and I just got back from our honeymoon in barbados and was so glad we stayed at the oceans 2!! The rooms were huge, meticulous, and if you book ocean view, BREATHTAKING! The staff makes... Read more you feel like VIP and they were all so polite and we felt genuinely interested on our choice of excursions there!! The beach is literally ocean 2's backyard, not private but truly felt like it was. Dont pay outside to go turtle diving. Instead go see Mike White and for cheaper than the big boata he'll take you on a private hobie ride to see tons of turtles and he's such a joy to be around! Oceans 2 is only 10 min walk to St. Lawrence gap and a 15minute ride to bridgetown or oistens. They didnt get an award for nothing... they absolutely deserve any and every award they get. So do yourself a favor and when traveling to Barbados, dont look anywhere else. OCEANS 2 TIME AND TIME AGAIN!!!! Read less
Just got back from a 10 night stay at Ocean Two. This hotel is absolutely amazing, as other reviews have stated, the hotel is spotless and cleaned to a high standard, we had a one bedroom ocean view... Read more suite and I can say this was the best hotel room we have ever stayed in. The over sized sun loungers are so relaxing and the whole continual supply of iced water, ice lollies and cold towels are a great touch oh yes and the Mist & Spray service !!. One thing that everybody comments on are the staff, well they are not wrong, I have never been to a hotel before where every member of staff walks around with a smile on their face and always on hand to help or give advise about the hotel amenities, trips, restaurants etc. we will definitely be returning to Ocean Two and we would just like to say a very big thank you to all the hard working staff and especially to the stand out performer of our stay SHANTELLE who went above and beyond and is a credit to the hotel. What a great holiday one of the best I have ever had from the moment we arrived to the day we sadly had to go. All the staff looked after us and nothing was to much trouble Chantelle and Michael made... Read more sure that our holiday was one to remember. even though there was no children club our children had a great time we eat in the hotel and down the gap lots to do and lots to see if you need to get around the island ask for Jason's phone number at reception he is a great tour guide. Just returned from a week at Ocean Two and we had an amazing experience there. All the staff, literally ALL THE STAFF! were so friendly and very approachable for it you ever needed anything. The... Read more hotel has a nice swim up pool bar and a quiet beach with complimentry canoes and body boards right on the back door so you're spoilt for places to chill out and relax. There is a pool on the roof for sunsets and the general condition of the hotel was always very clean and tidy. You can tell that all the staff take pride in their job and do their best to create a great experience for their guests so top marks all round!. We also upgraded to the suite before we went and were very pleased we did, the apartment was stunning and exceeded our expectations in every area which really made it feel like a home away from home. The location is also really good being right next to St Lawrence Gap with bars/restaurants to visit and locals selling their art. There is also a cash machiene and convenience shop literally across the road so don't worry if you forget anything..even your cash! : ) There is also a supermarket 10 minutes (by cab) up the road if you are going self catering and need to stock up. To provide a bit of balance my only cons would be the price of food and drink not only in the hotel but in Barbados in general. Expect to pay UK prices if your going to eat out and sometimes even more. In the hotel as you just sign for everything the cost can run up quickly and there will be a service charge put on top so keep an eye on it if you have a budget. As for the St Lawrence Gap: A meal for two at the indian was $250BDS (£75 GBP) (Aug 14) .. But don't let this put you off as there are quieter little places to eat within walking distance, which are more reasonable and just as nice. Also don't forget to take insect repellent for the mosquitos, the hotel was smoked every morning which kept them at bay but the rooms are not.. it took me a few days to work this out ; ) Read less
