TripAdvisor Traveller Rating:
We stayed at Ocean Two for twelve nights from 28th November 14. Our first experiences were not particularly good, the welcome was not great, we were eventually offered a none alcoholic drink and were... Read more taken to our room on the second floor. I had booked this holiday months ago and particularly requested a high floor room so said we were not happy to be on the second floor. I also noticed that there was only two chairs an a very small coffee table on the balcony. Again I was very disappointed as we chose this hotel as the website stated that on the balcony you had two loungers, four chairs and a table. We were told that the furniture had been sent away for refurbishment. We went back to reception and waited until a room on the third floor was ready, this room was much better than the second floor one but still no loungers. After a couple of days they did manage to find one lounger which was better than none at all. I notice that they have now changed their website and do not mention the furniture on the balcony. I do hope this is only a temporary measure as it is so nice to relax on the very large balcony and if it does become standard again I think we will return to this hotel. It does need a little reverbing, the lovely loungers around the pool need recovering or at least an extremely good clean, a lot of beach towels and the towels in the room were worn and frayed. With a few little touches this hotel could be excellent. The kitchen had everything you could possible want, the bed was extremely comfortable. I did not like the fact that you did not have a window in the bedroom so it was always dark. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was good. The beach attendants were very good especially Aneka she was so hard working and always had a smile, the ice lollies were bought around to you on the beach which was a very nice idea. A special thank you to Stephon in the restaurant, Ocean Two are very lucky to have him. On the whole we enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you to all the staff. John & Angela Condon. Read less
This is a great hotel situated just outside St. Lawrence Gap. Beach was nice, well maintained. It is quiet however if you want to go out., the gap is only a short walk away. My wife and I stayed here two nights waiting to catch a plane to Petit St Vincent. The check in process and staff are great. The room was exceptional. There is a very nice deck and living... Read more room/kitchen facing the water. The appliances, granite countertops, furniture, lighting fixtures, etc were first rate. I will be honest here...was not expecting this at all. The bathroom was spacious and the shower which was huge (with a Rainwater shower head coming out of the center of the ceiling) was fantastic. The bedroom was in the back, a bit dark but great sheets and pillows. Only complaint in the entire room was the towels really need to be replaced (but we could overlook that!) The beach was just okay but the roof pool was exceptional. Go up there at sunset. They set up a bar and the views are incredible. The lounge chairs were great on the beach and by both the pools. We had dinner one night, service was not the fastest but we were in no hurry. Food was decent, same with prices. Overall, a great experience. Read less
We had 4 nights at the Oceans Two Resort and Residences before joining a cruise ship. The resort was a perfect place to wind down. Our suite (with small kitchen) was a good size and well equipped... Read more . The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was large. The suite was beautifully clean. The verandah was quite large but the 2 outdoor chairs were very tired. The pool is large and well cared for with lots of outdoor seating and sun lounges. The resort is directly on the beach with lots of sun lounges and umbrellas placed out on the sandy beach each day. The Resort is very child friendly. There is a small convenience store across the road for all your needs. We hired the Resort's taxi for a half day island tour. It was air conditioned and very comfortable and Dee showed us the sites of the Island. A great way to see things in a short time. He was very knowledgeable and it was a lovely tour. Reasonably priced as well. A trip to St Nicholas Abbey is a lovely drive to the top end of the Island and a good place to do some rum tasting. Negotiate a price before starting the tour. The Resort restaurant is by the pool in a casual atmosphere. Food is good with a varied menu. Wine choices were not fantastic but we enjoyed what we ordered. The service throughout the Resort is welcoming and so very friendly. The reception staff were always very willing to do everything to make your stay enjoyable. Restaurant staff were wonderful and always happy. Knowledgeable about the menu and dietary needs catered for easily. There are other more luxurious resorts in Barbados but for a genuinely friendly atmosphere and spotlessly clean, well appointed accommodation Oceans Two will please. Read less
