TripAdvisor Traveller Rating:
This was a great holiday from start to finish, the rooms have everything you need and the staff are very attentive. Plenty of towels available for the sunbeds and the ones around the pool area are... Read more extremely comfortable. Go on a catamaran trip to snorkel with Turtles and there are plenty of restaurants to eat out at - our favourite was Craves which served good food and had a nice atmosphere. Some of the negatives mentioned on this site e.g. hassle from hawkers etc. just didn't happen to us - as I say this is a great place to stay - get out and see some of the Island - Trip to St. Nicholas Abbey was well worth it (old plantation house with a brewery). My partner and I stayed in this hotel for one week this past December. We were initially booked for regular hotel room but were upgraded to an ocean view suite, which was an amazing surprise to us... Read more . We stayed at the ground floor, with a terrace overlooking pool and the ocean. Stunning. If you can please book the suite as regular rooms are pretty small, with not enough closet space. I have to repeat this after many other guests that service is what makes this property an amazing one. Everybody was very friendly and helpful. Hotel is pretty new, rooms very nice, kitchenette very well equipped with everything you may need. Bathrooms are very spacious with ceiling rain shower and double sinks and lots of cabinets. The only thing we did not like too much was the beach. It's rather small, you can't walk too far. You can walk out of the hotel and to the street and you will be on Dover Beach in 5 minutes but it's not the same. For this reason we mainly stayed at the pool. Even though the pool is rather small it's nice and big enough to cool yourself down and have a swim. We had lunch in the hotel restaurant on few occasions, never had breakfast. It was ok, a bit pricey. We had drinks at the swim-up bar, took advantage of the happy hour twice a day, which was great. Loved the convenient location, walking distance to every restaurant in the Gap. We only took cab once to get to Champers Restaurant which was recommended by a lot of TA members. We will consider this hotel for our future trips to Barbados. Read less
We stayed in a hotel room as we were only staying 2 days before moving on. On arrival a cold towel and a cold drink are given to you which is lovely, then your credit card is swiped for $200 per... Read more day you are staying, I was glad we were only staying 2 days as this would be a hefty amount to add to a credit card if you were staying 2 weeks, especially if you were planning to eat around Barbados and not in the hotel. They do refund it when you leave, but it takes a few days to credit your account. The hotel rooms are perfectly fine if staying a short time. The bed is excellent and huge and the bathroom very good. However, the bathrobes in the bathroom are less than useless. They have clearly shrunk unless they were purchased with 12 year old girls in mind. The towels are also too small, the small ones are not big enough to wrap ones hair up in and the large ones are barely big enough to go around the body, so matched with the tiny robes relaxing after a shower is impossible. We did ask for extra towels at reception but they never appeared. The hotel is lovely and the pool and sunbathing area is excellent, complimentary cold water and ice lollies are brought around often. We never got to experience the rooftop pool as it was always having a private function. When we checked out we were offered a leaving drink and asked where were we sitting. We waited half an hour and it never arrived, we gave up and went out to find a taxi. Read less
We visited Ocean Two Nov /Dec 2014. Our holiday was a slightly special one as we also getting married there and had never been to either the hotel or Barbados before. The hotel was beautiful, really... Read more clean and very well maintained. We booked an Ocean front suite which was absolutely amazing, the views were stunning and the room was really something special. Especially like the massive bed – it has to be one of the comfiest ones I have ever slept in! The bathroom was really modern and the shower was huge. We booked bed and breakfast which was fantastic, great choice of fresh fruit and cooked food I especially liked the fresh omelettes / eggs made to order. Location of this hotel was perfect, beautiful quiet beach and a nice walk into the gap in the evening. Cocktails were gorgeous and even better during happy hour, I also liked the fresh coconuts that were served on certain days during the week, a shot of rum or vodka made them that extra bit special. The one thing that really stood out about this hotel was the staff and their friendliness, nothing was too much trouble and they really made you feel welcome. Think this was also down to the size of the hotel, it wasn’t too big which meant you got to know faces and names. Our actual wedding day went absolutely perfectly! This was down to the pure planning and attention to detail from the hotel. Our wedding planner Ashley was outstanding and was around whenever we needed her. She arranged all the legalities and made sure all my requests regarding flowers / meal choices were not missed. We got married on the beach and had the reception on the roof top terrace of the hotel. The views from the terrace are amazing and is a perfect place to go and grab a drink and watch the sunset. We loved this hotel / location so much that we have already booked to return in December this year for our 1st year wedding anniversary. We would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of holidaying on the beautiful island of Barbados! Read less
