I stayed here in March-April 2012. The rooms were large and clean. Bathroom was modern and clean. Housekeeping was excellent, showed up daily, restocked any necessary items (towels, toiletries,ect... Read more ). Bedding was very dated and tattered but clean, safe worked, patio was spacious enough to sit and relax. I didn't spend much time in the room because the beach is amazing!!! The staff is mixed, some are friendly and customer service orientated, others come off quite brash. I had less than pleasant experiences due to below par attitudes and service displayed by the front desk lady and the food/bar lady. It was not what you'd hope for on a vacation but I didn't spend too much time with them, thank goodness! The pool was clean and pool area pretty quiet. It is small but never seemed to be crowded. The restaurant/bar area had decent food if you wanted to hang out front on the beach, nothing to write home about. Venture out and taste the delicious food Negril has to offer. I would go back because I felt safe at this hotel and it was very clean. Read less

Read more My friends and I have been to Jamiaca several times and have always stayed at all inclusive resorts....NOT ANYMORE!!! We love Rooms Negril and will stay again and again. We looked at the reviews on Tripadvisor for several hotels, and found most of the reviews regarding Rooms to be true. I have never written a review before but thought I would on this one. The rooms were large, spacious, clean and the air conditioning was always working! We rented a fridge for $9.00 US per day to keep our mix and our milk cold. I am not sure if we would do this again, as there is alway ice in the ice machine and there is powdered whitener for your coffee and tea. Our only issue with the room was the lack of hot water. But if you let the shower run for 15-20 minutes the hot water would kick in. We also couldn't get our sliding glass door to lock, called the front desk and they had it fixed within 20 minutes! I have never experienced such great customer service. All of the staff was EXCELLENT!! The food was also very good. We brought oatmeal and rice cakes with peanut butter to eat but I ventured down and had Ackee and Salt Fish twice, it was delicious, bacon and eggs once, also yummy and I did try the contential breakfast offered. It was ok...not stale, but ok, banana bread, a stick bun, toast and a bowl of fruit. Orange juice, coffee and tea are also available. We at the Chef Salad almost every day for lunch with some fries and found it a great deal. It has jerk chicken, ham, boiled eggs and shredded cheese and the dressing was awesome. We also had the jerk chicken a few times and it was really good. For dinner we ventured over to Sweet Spot. I would highly recommend the Brown Stew Pork and Curry Chicken, they were our favourite meals. There are tons of places to eat along the beach. The Beach is in the perfect location. You have Afreds to one side and Roots Bamboo to the other, live music on the beach, it doesn't get much better. You can also walk to Jungle night club. Also right beside the hotel there is a little beach bar and Myrna's grocery store. We would go to Myrna's to get all of our pop, juice, water snack ect, her prices are on point. 1.70 for a Heinekin beer is all good with me, same with 0.85 for a bottle of pop. She also sells bottles of vodka for 16.00 US. The only "complaint" that I have was the mosquitos. They are just horrible. They were very previlent in the restaurant and the bathroom in the restaurant. We had bug spray but it didn't seem to deter them. I wish they would spray the grounds to prevent the mosquitos or whatever bugs they are. I would recommend bringing spray, some anti itch lotion and some reactine! This was my most favourite trip to Jamaica and Rooms had a lot to do with that. Thanks for a great time, we will be back in April, if not before! Read less
I stayed at Rooms with a friend back in October. I can’t speak of the breakfast for we did not eat at the hotel. We went across the street it was good and reasonable. We had the room 1902, ocean... Read more front, we could not hear the music next door late at night, only if we went out on our deck. I was have expecting to get cold water in the showers from all the complaints however I never experienced any cold showers. The bathrooms are very nice, beds are ok, and flat screen TV was nice, and having a coffee pot in the room was nice. I also can’t speak of the pool the one day we decided to go swimming the pool was closed for cleaning. We did get a snack at the restaurant and I would not recommend going there. There are so many good places to eat on the beach. I’m one that likes local cuisine and my friend isn’t as adventurous however to the right next door, on the beach side Negril Sun will make you one fine lobster. Even my friend that doesn’t like lobster enjoyed it. They also sell cheap ($2.00 US) red strip. If you want a tour on the island or go out on the glass boat these guys will help you talk to Nash, Bird, or Shaba. On the left side of the beach you have a nice little bar called Maureen’s. She’s a hoot stop by and have some Red Strip light and she also makes blended drinks. I would recommend bring bug spray the sand flies bit my friend legs up quite bad. Room’s sits between to hopping bars Alfred’s and Roots. It seemed like every other night one of them had a party going on. We ate at Alfred’s on night and it was good. The vendors do tend to get a bit pushy but if you tell them no thank you they will respect that. The time that we went was the end of the slow season and times are hard. My favorite vendor was to the right on the beach of Room’s, her name is Sandy and she is right over the wall. Make sure to hit her up. I also highly recommend the fruit lady that walks up and down the beach. Fresh mangos, banana’s pineapple, etc… Security was impressive there was always someone walking around the grounds. If you are looking for a smaller nice hotel I would recommend Rooms. Read less

This is a perfect location, lots to do and see. We had the best beach and the water is beautiful. The wall along the beachfront helps keep persistent vendors off the property . Large clean rooms... Read more , updated bathroom was lovely. Continental breakfast of fruit, toast and coffee was all we needed, food at hotel restaurant was good, however service slow. Lots of restaurants in the area, try them out, don't be turned off by the look of the premises, we always found the food to be wonderful. Guy across the street with with BBQ had great soup/chicken at good price. Staff were great always friendly and helpful, especially the life guard Petrol. For a reliable taxi driver at reasonable prices ask for Keith out front, knows the area well and will look after you. Great guy! For cheap beer etc on the beach go to left about fifty feet. We were there for a week in March of 2013 and will definitely go back. Read less
