TripAdvisor Traveller Rating:
Just returned from a 1 week stay Good points - really nice rooms that are bright and well serviced. Staff including managers are professional, helpful and friendly. Nice pool and grounds. All... Read more inclusive probably worth the money. Not so good points- many if not most meals in the main restaurant were served as a buffet not sit down menu as described on the website. Breakfast buffet in particular was fairly poor with food running out and slow at being replaced. The Creolle restaurant in the older part of the hotel was really good however during our stay was only open for lunch on week days. Best bit of the holiday for me was discovering the little shanty bar on the beach near the hotel to beach walk on the left as you get to the beach. Great place to sit with a beer and listen to the characters who work and visit the "bar". Read less
My husband and I stayed at the hotel for 2 weeks this month and had a fabulous time. The staff were wonderful but I would like to mention the lovely Patricia, Rosemary, Siana, Lise, and who can... Read more forget Amelia, great person, not forgetting Cyrille. In the bar was the best barman, loved his rum punches, Shady and also Dwight. Overseeing this merry crew was Ernie, great manager and very entertaining! The food was good and so were the drinks! The entertainment was fun, The room was clean and comfortable and the bed was extremely so and we were looked after by Allana, excellent job. If you had to wait for food and drinks it was usually because it was busy and also you are in the Caribbean!! Chill. I would recommend. Read less
Took me awhile to write this. When I first checked in, the bathroom was still wet, I called the hotel and they fixed it immediately. The A/C will only turn on when a room card key is inserted, this... Read more wasn't an issue for me as the room stayed pretty cool. I was on the end on either the top floor or the second floor, it was a year ago so I don't recall exactly. The bed was comfy, the coconut shrimp at the restaurant were AMAZING. The bathroom was nice, and the juiliet balconies had a lovely view of the pool and the town. The staff at the front desk were fine, some were standoffish but I mean, they work really hard and most are quite young. The woman in charge of setting up activities was very nice, and one gentleman who worked there made sure I knew not to walk around by myself at night. I felt safe, but I did get his point. The hotel is central to everything so you can walk to the store and bars and restaurants, and the hotel pool is nice, has lots of shade for laying out, and at least heated in part. The swim-out rooms were really nice, others in our party stayed in those. Overall a good experience, the only reason I would think twice before staying there again is because it's not on the beach, which doesn't bother me but would probably bother whoever I traveled with. I do recommend this for others, especially groups. For the Americans, this is kind of like a (nice) Holiday Inn. I would at LEAST stop in to the restaurant, wonderful service and oooooh that coconut shrimp!! I think the restaurant is closed Sunday as far as accepting order, but they have a buffet maybe? I stayed here for 2 weeks,I very much enjoyed my holiday here. The pool was very clean and very spacious, we had a swim up room that was very nice when wanting to get out off the pool, the only down... Read more side was the customer service off the staff in the hotel restaurant.we would ask for a drink and we waiting for 10 to 15 minutes, the food they served was excellent but as an all inclusive hotel they didn't change the menu for the whole to weeks!.Breakfast was ok if you like burnt toast and having to wait for the staff to realize and bring out some more. Our room was on the ground floor and facing Rodney bay the locals bars would play banging music until 3am and it seemed to get louder but I didn't mind, the staff are lovely and very friendly. If you want steaks or label drinks you had to pay extra which I find annoying when you have already paid all inclusive. There are plenty of good shops near by and a casino which was fun, the only thing I didn't like about out was being ask for money by the locals it only happened twice so wasn't to bad. Beautiful island and breath taking surroundings. Read less
What a lovely hotel. Well appointed, lovely helpful people with a special mention for Ernie and Peppy for making our stay great. Please however do not become all inclusive and take away the charm of... Read more Rodney Bay and exploring the area. We ate 50% of the time in the hotel and the food was very good but so was - la Terrace, Blue Olive, Tapas and Marie's on the beach - all totally different and of a high standard. If you are the sensitive type have a room on the garden side as the music can be a little loud on the pool side - we enjoyed the late night reggae and the windows were double glazed. Shopping and tours good but beware long drives. Would definitely go back as many of the other guests seem to. Mary & Martyn (60 going on 50) Read less
