We just returned from this resort on the 28th. We had a fabulous time. A beautiful vacation. We'd recommend the helicopter transport to the resort. The staff at the resort are so attentive to you even without tipping. The food at all of the restaurants was good. Above par from our experience with other resorts. The grounds are breath taking. Shout outs to a few memorable people: Peter in the London pub, Latoya and Mindy at the pool bar. Orion (The prophet) who seemed to be everywhere. We came to be in a wedding with some friends of ours who were also staying at the resort. After a long wait of around 40 min to get booked for our room, I was stunned to find a lot of mold... Read more throughout the shower. When I brought this to their attention, they booked us another room where we then moved to. The food and drink service was a bit mixed, but generally on the good side. A few of the non-fine dining areas like the hotdog restaurant and lunch spots had waiters that never smiled and got our orders wrong a couple times. But the evening fine dining was generally pretty good. When we returned for the first evening to head to bed, we noticed the bed was insanely squeaky and nearly impossible to sleep on if you're a light sleeper. When I later asked about this issue, the manager said they were planning to have a lot of 'things done' to improve the furniture. I was going to watch Game of Thrones on HBO (which came with the room), but there seemed to be no channel for it where listed. After calling down, I was eventually told that "HBO" was probably a different station than it is in the states. I didn't actually care that much about this ultimately, I only mention it because this turned out to be FALSE when I later caught the show in a room at another resort later -- on HBO. Basically, the cable guy for the hotel was either mistaken about that channel or simply lied. What did turn out to be a big deal with the Wifi. For an "all included resort," I was stunned we had to pay extra for the Wifi. What's worse is that it didn't let me on for hours, providing a "too many users" overload page. Really? Finally after having tried to sleep on that awful bed through the night, we had had it and moved to the resort just to the south of it. To their credit, they didn't hold us to the remaining days purchased. HOWEVER -- and this is key -- in determining our exit they mentioned we would normally need a "pass" to be on the property, but that it would "be okay" if we returned. I took this to mean they were allowing this pass, but after moving they said it needed to be purchased when we came back. Thus we had to pay extra money for both remaining days to return. I've never actually written a negative review on any place I've visited before -- but this one definitely got me motivated. Read less

Read more tropical flowers blending together. The food was very good and was mostly always available. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. It seems to be a popular honeymoon destination as well and there were a few weddings that were tastefully done. Lots of options for the day from excursions of all sorts to activities in the main pool or a couple of quiet pools. The beach was excellent with a nice sandy beach and warm calm waters? We spent a lot of time in the water which was very clean and no seaweed! No problems with getting a chair in the mornings either and beach service was very good. The only issue really was it was rather pricey compared to other adult resorts with similar amenities. We plan to return. Read less
Saint Lucia and its people made this the best honeymoon we could have ever asked for. We have not stopped talking about what an amazing time we had since we got back. Sandals Grande is phenomenal. We... Read more did not get the butler or concierge rooms/service, and that was fine by us. Our room was nothing special, but who goes to Saint Lucia for the room? We're social people so a fancy room and butler service would have been wasted on us....plus it allowed us to afford 10 days instead of 7! The staff at Sandals is extremely friendly, and they made us feel so relaxed and welcome. Special shout-out to our favorite bartender Nicholas, who was so awesome that we would follow him wherever he was working and also to the activities crew who made each day at the pool very fun and helped us meet a ton of people to hang out with. The food is awesome, especially Barefoot Restaurant, where we ate for both lunch and dinner. We did travel to Sandals Halycien as well to go to Kelly's which was definitely worth it. Sandals Grande has a good mix of activities and relaxation. If you are looking for beach, this is the best Sandals to choose in Saint Lucia. I heard there was more nightlife at La Toc, but we were perfectly happy to hang by the lobby bar or head over to the Pub for late night drinks and food. We did a bunch of excursions through Sandals including the Island Buggies (ask for Chubbs aka Chubby as your guide....he's awesome) and horseback riding (so relaxing and you can't beat being in the ocean on horseback), but we also did the tour offered by the guys on the beach....don't be scared of them, it's completely legit, and one of the best days we had on the trip. Each tour is different, depending on who you go with, but ours included a ride through a banana plantation and fishing villages, zip-lining, snorkeling, lunch, a trip to a waterfall, the mud bath at the volcano and an amazing ride back on a speed boat. Honestly, I did not hear one person who had a bad time on any of the trips offered by the guys on the beach, and if you get to talking to them, they are some of the friendliest people you'll meet. Obviously Saint Lucia is beautiful, but the people are what really made our trip so great. Everyone is so relaxed and welcoming, and they made us feel less like tourists and more like friends. A few more tips: Make sure you hike Pigeon Island....it's breathtaking; take the helicopter from the airport to the resort....it's pricey, but totally worth getting to the resort in 1/2 an hour instead of two hours of windy roads on a bus; go to the street fair on Friday night....just ask around and you'll find out where to go and how to get there - get ready to party!; participate in the games during the day - you'll have so much fun and will meet a lot of great people from all over. We are planning on coming back as soon as possible! Read less
