Myself and my partner stayed here for 10 days in February of 2014. It was my first trip to Florida as an adult and without any family and his first trip to Orlando ever. Location: We found the... Read more location of the hotel to be fantastic. Walgreens was just a few minutes walk away which was great for stocking up on snacks and drinks for both the room and taking into the parks. There were also plenty of restaurants within walking distance, both fast food style places such as KFC and Dairy Queen (which was basically next door) and other restaurants like Pizza Hut, Ponderosa (right opposite), IHOP, a Chinese restaurant, a few steak house type places and plenty more. There was a bus stop right outside the hotel for the i trolley and the Lynx buses and plenty of bus stops within walking distance, for access to different bus routes. We got a 2 week bus pass for $16 each I think, which was worth every penny. The hotel does provide transport to most park except for Disney World, but the limited times of the hotel buses made it much more effective to use the Lynx buses. It was also possible to walk to the Universal Resort and Wet n Wild watermark, and taxis from Universal were very cheap the one night we used them when we came back late after going to Universal's Mardi Gras party. We also used these buses to go to the malls and outlets. The hotel: From our room we could see Universal Studios and Islands of adventure, which was a big bonus and made it even more exciting. The room was huge, with 2 double beds (which were very comfortable), a table and chairs, drawers and wardrobe, a nice big tv, a safe, a fridge, microwave and, of course, a bathroom. Whilst the bathroom was fairly small, we didn't find this to be a problem at all, although I guess a family group might. The room was nice and clean, and the maid's did a lovely job each day. The rest of the hotel also seemed to be nice and clean, although we did not spend much time there. There is also a shop in the hotel, which had plenty of snacks and drinks should you need to quickly grab something. We had breakfast in the hotel one morning. It was a buffet style breakfast with plenty of choice, and everything tasted hot and fresh. When we checked in, we had a gentleman take our bags up to our room, and he was such a friendly and enthusiastic person, and really got the holiday off to a good start. He provided us with more vouchers than we could possibly use in 10 days and plenty of helpful information, and seemed genuinely grateful for the tip that we gave him, even though he clearly very much deserved the tip! Those working at reception were also super helpful and friendly. We used the wifi in the hotel most nights, just to plan our days, look for restaurants and keep in touch with home. We had no problems with it whatsoever. The air conditioning unit in the room also worked perfectly, and cooled down the room quickly once we turned it on after coming in from a day at the parks. Overall, we found the hotel perfect for our needs and would definitely stay there again, especially for the price we paid, as it was definitely worth it :) Read less
I stayed at the rosen inn hotel (nearest universal) the first 3 weeks in January 2014 with my family (5 of us) - myself, my husband and 3 children, aged 12, 17 and 18 years - unfortunately my 18 year... Read more old daughter took ill a week into our holiday, with a blood clot and ended up in intensive care at ORMC - we had to stay in USA for 8 weeks as my daughter was in hospital and was then not able to travel home - the Manager and staff at the Rosen Hotel were very sympathetic to our plight and the Manager kept our room on at the hotel until my insurance company settled the bill - special thanks to Miguel (the Manager),Tracy (at reception) and all the reception staff, Eric (the security guard) and also the maids and cleaning staff who cleaned the rooms every day and kept the room spotless - the Maids and all of the staff and the Manager asked after my daughter's health every day and advised me on taxis and even buses to the hospital as we were running out of money - pool was lovely and kept clean all around the pool area (fresh towels were provided by hotel )- rooms have fridge, microwave and coffee maker, hair dryer and toiletries - ice machines in hallway and also laundry facilities, free safe also in rooms to use plus all air-conditioned and beds and pillows were very comfy indeed - another plus was the location of the hotel - 15 minutes walk to universal and island of adventure and right across the road from wet and wild - bus stops right outside the hotel ( I-trolley) and restaurants are all within walking distance of hotel, a Ponderosa is opposite the hotel and food is very good and prices are reasonable, food is also very good at Chillies and also Buffalo Sports Bar near to the hotel - all in all a brilliant hotel to stay when you visit Florida - from wonderful staff to ideal location on international drive area - we hope to visit Orlando again in summer 2015 and will DEF be booking Rosen Inn near wet and wild again. Would just like to say a MASSIVE big thank you to the staff at The Rosen and also to The Area Manager, Rebecca who was visiting the hotel when we were there and was very helpful. See you soon. My husband, daughter and myself have returned from Floria, and found the Rosen Inn to be the perfect location, especially if Universal is your favourite theme park. We were here for 16 nights. There... Read more are a few Rosen Inns in Florida, this one is opposite Ponderosa and diagonally opposite to Wet n Wild water park. The staff are helpful and anser any questons you may have. The rooms are big enough for 4 people, they have 2 double beds in them. The bathroom is a bit small but we coped. There is a fridge and a microwave and a coffee maker in the room which is quite useful. The wifi worked very well. There are a few washing machine rooms on different floors, and also ice machines. Our room was on the 7th floor in the middle of the corridor, from our room we could see Universal in the distance. It was lovely to look out at night and see International Drive all lit up. We ate in the Japanese steak House in the Hotel. It was fantastic ! You choose your food and the chef comes to your table and cooks your food in front of you to your liking. It tasted amazing, and he cracks a few jokes along the way. The Pool is lovely after hard days around the theme parks, and is also nice for a chill day. There was always enough sunbeds, and they supply the towels. Across the road from the Hotel is the Ponderosa Steakhouse. This place is so handy for breakfast before you set off out. All you can eat and drink - and plenty to choose from. There is a free shuttle bus to Universal, which has to be booked in the Reception area, they prefer you to book the day before. The bus is handy but does take half an hour to get there because it picks up at other Hotels too. In a taxi it takes approx 5-10 mins and costs around £4.00. I would recommend this Hotel, and would stay here again. Read less

And if you use the hotel group taxi to go to disney don't expect to leave on time! He waited 25mins for a late passenger and we were stuck on the bus. Hotel is only 20min walk to universal and islands of adventure which is great and the local iRide bus stops right outside the hotel. We had breakfast once in the hotel which was really nice. We didn't have chance to use he pool. Rooms were cleaned to a high standard every day. Our flight was delayed and we arrived at 1am and the man on reception was really friendly and got us checked in quickly. The room was very big with a fridge and as I said the location was great.
