TripAdvisor Traveller Rating:
We were in Orlando for 3 days so I could attend my graduation ceremony. Being on a budget and there for a short time, we were really surprised with the Rosen Inn. We booked the hotel back in August... Read more and looking at other hotels on or around International Blvd, this was one of the lower priced ones. With lower priced hotels you never know what you really will get. Periodically, I would review TripAdvisor for updated reviews and was surprised and all the positive reviews it was getting. I did see a lot of posts from the fall or winter talking about the renovations they were doing but most the reviews were still positive. First the hotel is nicely located near Universal Studios, and an off ramp from I 4 down the street. Being next to the highway, I feared for the noise, but the noise was never an issue. There are also numerous shops and food places within walking distance. When we first entered our room, I was taken back on how nice it was. The renovations were really well done and I felt like I was staying in a higher end hotel. Bathroom area was very nice. Showers were hot. Room had updated flat screen tv and updated dressers. The beds ands pillows were very comfortable, honestly don't think I have slept as well as I did for those 3 days. One of the more surprising things was their breakfast. They don't have a continental breakfast but they do have breakfast buffet for 7.99. Well well worth the money. In the 3 mornings we had breakfast, the offerings provided changed. All the food was very fresh and really good especially for the 7.99 price. I am anticipating finishing my MBA within in the next 6 months and if the schools graduation ceremony is back in Orlando, we definitely plan to stay at the Rosen Inn again. Read less
We booked a room through Booking.com, not really knowing what to expect. we learned that the "Deal" from Booking.com is the same as the prices at ROSEN, so you may just as well call the Hotel to... Read more book. What we booked through Booking.com was a room with 2 double beds. I emailed ahead and requested (if possible) one King, instead of 2 doubles as we are a senior couple and didn't need the extra beds. When we arrived, we were suprised to see a 9 story building, with a front lobby, and a full hotel desk. And a seperate desk to book Attractions, free shuttles, etc. There is a 24 hr convinience store down the hall, and a 7.95 Breakfast buffet, AND a Japanese teppanyaki restaurant named Sho gun. Back to the hotel. There were 3 or 4 girls behind the counter, all as friendly and sweet as can be. Very efficient and courteous. (Unlike many places we have stayed). A young lady named Vivianna took over from the original girl to say that she had received my email request and that she WAS able to acommodate all of our requests. Our plane arrived at 10:00 am so she gave us the early check in we had hoped for, also a King sized bed, We went up the elevator to the 9th floor (we had room 923) we were suprised by the huge wide hallways, had to be 6 feet wide, (which made baggage handling a breeze) The room had a deluxe lock system like we had in the 4 seasons in Hawaii, which allowed you to tap your room card to unlock, and inside there was a double lock system for extra feeling of security. The room was immaculately clean. Not so much as a speck of dust anywhere, the bathroom gleamed, and the spaciousness was crazy. 2 people could dance in the bathroom much less stand in it. The room was huge, with a large sealed patio door window with a view of Orlando including Wild and wet, and Universal Island, other hotels and shopping. Location wise, it's perfect because we didn't have a car. We walked to everything, including Walgreens, Shopping, restaurants, everyhting you need is walking distance. The hotel is situated in a populated safe area, we even walked after dark, without any creepy feelings, like you do at a lot of Orlando Hotels. Especially those nearer DisneyWorld. The bed is an enormous king and so comfortable. I have a bad back and health issues and its hard to find a good bed. This was a great bed. The hotel underwent major renovations recently, so I assume this bed and the rich dark furnishings are part of that. There is a coffee centre, (but mine didn't have the carafe for some reason) Didn't matter, we don't do coffee anyway. There is a microwave, a fridge, a clock radio, a safe. We had somone tap at our door. When I answered a nice young woman, said, "Just checking Sir... your door was ajar." All we really cared about was that we stayed in a place that was clean. But this place surpassed every expectation and for the price of 89.00 .....we got a sale.... compared with the 900.00 a night they wanted within the universal park, one would have to absolutely stupid to stay anywhere else in all of Orlando unless thei Rosen Inn (Closest to Universal) was fully booked. we even tried to stay an extra day, but couldn't because its sold out. How they figure this is a 3 star hotel is beyond me. I've stayed in 4 and 5 stars which were not as enjoyable as this establishment. DEFINITELY stay here if you can. It's worth it at 2wice the price... and that Shogun rESTAURANT OFFERS THE BEST MEAL i'VE EVER HAD FOr UNDER 50 BUCKS FOR 2 OF US..... It's nuts!!... I will always stay here when in Orlando based on this experience. Also free shuttles to theme parks, and a paid shuttle to Airport. Cheap) and a cab company on site. You can't beat this with a stick. I have been going to Disney and Universal for over 20 years and never thought of staying off site. However, just went with a couple of friends and they booked the Rosen Inn. I was unsure at first... Read more seeing as though I have always stayed close to the parks, and of course paid for that convenience, however, this hotel was absolutely great. No more spending all my money on food at the parks, they have restaurants inside the hotel, or just step outside and you will find, sushi, pizza, Italian and ice cream all in walking distance and you can burn off all your calories walking to Universal the next day.
