Bahama Bay Resort

1 of 12 photos

This Caribbean-style resort is right on the banks of the picturesque Lake Davenport and it's laid out over 70 acres of landscaped gardens, making it a truly beautiful place to stay. It even has its own beach on the banks of the lake! The apartment-style condos are exceptionally well equipped and you'll really have no need to eat out, but if you don't want to cook there's a great restaurant on site. This resort is a fantastic place to be if you're the sporty type, with volleyball, basketball, tennis to contend with. Kids will love the playroom and games arcade, while adults can relax and listen to soft Caribbean music by the pool, or take advantage of the fabulous new spa, offering a myriad of treatments and a fitness centre to boot!

My husband and I have stayed at Bahama Bay twice already. We will be coming down again Nov 2015. We have always stayed in condos instead of hotels. My father-in law used to have 6 weeks of... Read more time-share. We actually went to England using a time share week. My father-in-law sold all his time shares. My husband and I got so used to condos we don't understand how people pay for a tiny hotel room when you get a two bedroom, two bath, fully finished apartment for usually less money than a value resort at big mouse park. The 2 times we stayed ,the condos were in good shape. We never had any issues on cleanliness .For the people complaining about the cleaning fee. You are spending thousands of dollars on a vacation. Who cares about a little cleaning fee. YOU ARE NOT STAYING AT THE RITZ. A condo is not a hotel It is like renting someones apartment for a week. It means cleaning up after yourself and washing the towels yourself. We found the staff to be very helpful and friendy. Read less

Hi we stayed in the Bahama Bay Resort in Davenport Jan/Feb this year. Lovely surprise when we got there we were upgraded to a deluxe apartment which was very nice. It was on the ground floor in a... Read more quiet area but easily accessible to the resort facilities. The apartment had all we needed for our two week holiday it was very clean and well looked after. There were plenty pools to use, we used the main one mostly. The Gym was great. The first week was great, nice and quiet. Second week was noisier as there were people moved in above us. We were not disturbed all the time, but were aware of movement and speaking. The resort was very well looked after, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. One of the bar attendants was very helpful recommending areas for walking and areas to visit. Grounds were lovely for walking in and well kept. Would go back to this resort and would recommend it as a place to stay. Read less

Our family stayed at Bahama Bay in Feb 2015. We were in building 34 on the second floor. We were very happy with the unit-2 big bedrooms, full kitchen, 2 bathrooms, a large dining/living room area... Read more and a double balcony. Everything you would need was in the kitchen and a big washer and dryer. There were 5 adults and we felt like we had tons of room. There were 3 televisions and free wifi. The resort felt safe and it was quiet. The landscaping/flowers everywhere were so nice. The whole place has a nice well kept feel to it. There are 4 clean heated pools, we mostly used the pool down by the beach/lake area where there is a nice Pool bar and the Tradewinds restaurant. The pool was large, you could easily do laps and it was heated to 78 degrees. When we were there in February it did not seem busy, tons of free pool chairs etc. The restaurant has specials each day- our favorite was Taco Tuesday- $2 tacos all day! and are they yummy- chicken, fish or vegie. Another good special was on Wed and Thursday nights- 2 can eat for $30-Endless salad , 2 entrees and one dessert ! Various bar specials too-for eg $3 Bud light on Sunday and Monday. There is a breakfast buffet on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We went to the huge Walmart about 5 minutes away and bought a bunch of groceries on our first day- that store has a big grocery dept with everything you could need. There were lots of daily specials and events- we were away from the resort a lot so we didn't get to many, but some of the evening activities were Karaoke, live music, pool and foosball tournaments and family movie night. There is also tennis and basketball areas and a kiddies splash/play area. We found the front desk staff fine, they answered all our questions. They had a tours calendar- you could book many different tours at the concierge desk. We had our own van so we didn't book any but it was nice to know they had tours available. It is a resort that you would need your own car. We've stayed in many hotels around Orlando over the years, but this felt like a resort and it was very relaxing. We will go back there in the future. Read less
