Me and my partner stayed in the new bit of the complex for two weeks at East island which was very nice and spacious my first time his second. Didn't have any problems with the room apart from the... Read more air con that went off when ever it felt like even though someone during the first week came and changed something on it, they only cleaned it once during the two weeks, and even though it clearly stated a ten I clock checkout they were at the door at before nine asking us when we were leaving as we had a long day ahead thus wasn't the best. Didn't appreciate there need to cut the grass at five yes five in the morning on the day of checkout the previous week it had been six which was bad enough. As regards to the timeshare pushing I was prepared after reading on here for it so when we got to the front desk and checked in they said we will just take you over here what for a voucher so listened to the waffle for a bit then just politely said no thank you but firmly so they knew I was serious and they left it at that well till the next morning when we had a call at eight o clock asking us again and wouldn't take no for an answer so we hung up on them. Other problem with this complex card only no cash you either have to use you're card which costs you every single time or buy a gift card we ate off site and were out every day there is a publix close by and two walmarts to buy you're essentials. Good place for visits to Disney only down the road further for universal. Read less
Stayed here for 4 nights got a discount on stay in return for time share presentation. This is a HUGE resort, a car is a must. The resort does have shuttles but didn't see many people using them. If... Read more you are looking to just relax then this is the place for you. Other wise if you are looking to stay busy they have activities for kids but depending where your room is its a hassle to get around the resort. There are fees attached to some activities so keep that in mind. Swimming is free but there is a charge for the tube if you want one to use in the lazy river. Just look for one lying around don't pay. The room itself was nice as we stayed in a high rise apt style 2 bedroom 2 bath full kitchen and living room with washer.dryer. If you have most activities planned off site then I recommend staying somewhere cheaper. LOTS of places to eat around resort and Target, dollar tree and publix very close by. Walmart not too far. This resort is located close to disney world as well. Read less
Family has been going here for years and had another great trip in September 2014. Much quieter than the busy March April Season. Bar Staff at Breezes again, awesome people. Love hanging out there... Currently staying in a River Island 6th floor 1br apartment. Starting from the beginning, check in was fast. After check in, a lady will walk you over the to someone else to "validate you $20.00... Read more voucher" which after reading a million reviews before I arrived, knew it was for a timeshare presentation. He offered me $75 cash or $90 food and beverage credit, I took the $75 cash since I came with my own food and beverages. We were scheduled Sunday morning for 8am. After check-in, we went straight to the room. The resort is very big but they will give you a map. It wasn't hard to find river island, walked into the room..room was nice. First thing we say was a dead roach on the floor but housekeeping came to pick it up. TV in bedroom is a tube tv, flat screen in living room.We enjoyed the lazy river and water slide. IT IS NOT A WATER PARK!!! Only a lazy river and one water slide which they want you to pay $10.00 for a tube but there are so many tubes floating around the river from people that left, you can just grab one of them and hop on. We did that all 3 nights we were here and NEVER paid anything. Plus kids 5 and under get free tubes and play golf for free so beware before you buy the play pass if you have kids 5 and under...they will receive it for free! After we came back to our room, I pulled the sofa bed out and a huge roach came running out. Scared my kids to the point they did not want to sleep on it. That was the only 2 bugs I saw during my stay. The next day, Sunday morning, was the presentation. I checked in at 8am...waited. everyone that came after me left and I was still there. I went to ask if I was checked in correctly since 15 mins had already passed and I was the only one left, was told it would be about 15 mins more because of a glitch in the system. Funny that it happened to me since I was the only young single mother there with my 2 kids, everyone that was older and married got through the system just fine!! Eventually the man came out and we started the tour which is not a tour because all he did was take us back to River island, where I was staying, and asked questions. He showed me the room I was staying in, and the other side which is the 2bd. No tour around the property or anything although I did see some agents taking their clients on tours around the property. We got back to river island and it was time to sell me on this property. I was just there to get the $75.00 cash, no intentions on buying anything, especially not here. The man that was assigned to me was very nice and I told him I read a lot of reviews before I arrived about how they pressured people into buying so I came ready to battle. He said no pressure, which I believe is because I mentioned that and he knows I will write a review. But I didn't feel pressured at all, probably because I wasn't going to buy no matter what they said. The manager came over to lower the price..NO, Then a man came over with a "survey" and to cash me out, also trying to get me to buy on last time...NO! Simple as that. I was cashed out and received my $75.00. There's a shuttle to bring you back your car which I could have just met them downstairs since I was already staying in River island...waste of time and gas. After that, we tried to enjoy the rest of our stay. The kids played putt-putt which came up to $10.60 for my 8 year old since my 5 year old was free. We ate at Breezes, which came up to 28.59 for 2 kid meals and an adult meal. The kid meals come in a sand bucket which was really cute and I allowed my kids to play in the sand next to the Hippo, which is $9.00 per kid. The resort was not crowded or loud, I'm thinking because I came during off season. Can't really say how the food or dinks taste because we had our own, with the exception of Breezes, which taste like average restaurant food. My kids had a good time, they liked the lazy river and Hippo, I had an ok time. There is a fee for everything except the tubes and golf for kids 5 and under. I think we would have had a better time if more activities would have been free but I guess that's why they never said they were all inclusive. It's a nice place to stay for older couples, retires or golf players. I wont be retuning. Wifi is free, shuttle runs every 15 mins to take you around the resort, they do not accept cash...only credit cards, charges to your room, or a gift card to pay for things done during your stay. I'm glad I read reviews before I arrived so I knew what to expect. If you have plenty of money to spend or decide to take the food and beverage credit during the timeshare presentation, you may like it. I had an okay time but won't be returning. After all, a girl can only ride the lazy river for so long without getting bored. Read less
