TripAdvisor Traveller Rating:
This place is close to Disney and is a comfortable place to lay your head if you're a family on the go. Things I enjoyed about the resort: multiple pools, Breezes restaurant & bar, strong drinks at... Read more reasonable prices, close to shopping (less than a mile to Target/Publix), beds were comfortable, layout of the condo was nice. Things I have an issue with: Our back patio was on golf hole #7 and numerous times we saw golfers peeing in the woods, about 20 feet from our patio. The room we had wasn't fully clean. There was mold on the shower curtains. The kitchen sink stunk to the point that my mom bought Clorox and cleaned it herself. I saw a roach run under my be the last night (I know it's Florida but eww)! The hot tubs were small and the largest one on resort was overrun by underage drinkers multiple nights. The one night they showed up playing loud music, were cussing, and even bragging that they were 19 while drinking their beers. When my sister asked them to turn their music down they did but called her a b-word under their breath. We eventually left the area and called the front desk to tell them. They said "oh well there is nothing we can do about it, but I guess we could send security over anyway." What kind of response is that? I thought they are trying to sell timeshares here? Kind of ruins their family friendly image to allow that, and last time I checked underage drinking is illegal. Regardless, the resort should be able to kick anyone out of the hot tub (or any area) if they are being loud, obnoxious, and disrespectful to other guests. Read less
Fast and easy check in. This resort is huge, the largest I've ever been to and they boast of being the largest in the world at 1400 acres. The resort is very well maintained. We stayed in a three... Read more bedroom apartment in the East Village. The rooms were very big and clean with enough towels to last the week in each bedroom (we were a party of 6). We had dinner at the legacy sports bar which was also in the east village, the food was great. At night from our apartment we had a clear view of Disney's fireworks which took place every night at 10pm. This is a cashless resort so they charge everything to your room so there is no need to walk around with cash. Make sure to keep tabs on everything you purchase because you will be charged at check out where they give you the option to pay either by cash or credit card. At check in they will try to convince you to attend a timeshare presentation. We agreed because they offered us discounts on the in resort activities but we really had no intentions of buying into the time share. They claim that the presentation will only be an hour but it went on for almost half day. After we turned down all there offers three salesmen tried to convince us the last one was quite rude because we denied the package. We rented a vehicle so getting around the resort was quite easy but if you don't have a vehicle there are many stops where a shuttle passes every 5 mins. The resort activities were great, we only visited river island, there was is a lazy river, an in pool water slide, a 200 foot inflatable water slide, miniature gulf, an arcade and a gym. There are many other sections in this resort but because of our hectic schedule to the amusement parks we didn't venture into them. This is a great resort for couples, families and friends. My only con was how rude the salesman was because we denied the timeshare presentation but other than that I had an awesome time and I will be back again soon. Read less
We had a 2 bedroom unit in River Island. I would HIGHLY recommend River Island as the resort is very large. River Island enable you o walk out and immediately get in the water. Other units on the... Read more reports can be very far from pools, restaurants, etc. One thing about River Island, do your best to get a unit overlooking the water and higher than floor 3, if possible. Also, try to get a unit as far away from the main entrance as possible. Lots of noise every morning with maintenance crews/ landscapers and check out happening. The room(s) itself was beautiful. Would be good to update and enlarge the television sizes, but no complaints. Ample space and very clean. Kept very well. Bed was comfortable. I did find the restaurants to be overpriced for what they offered. It was nice to get a 10% owner discount, though. The pool and lazy river were awesome. It sucked to have to rent a float for the lazy river ($9 per float per day) and it was against the rules to use your own float. Still, it was a great lazy river. I have kids and there was PLENTY for them to do. I wish I would have played golf. Didn't have time, but the courses were gorgeous. Easy access to Orlando toll roads and I4. Lots of restaurants right outside the property, including cheap options like Chick Fil A. Public grocery store very close by as well. Looking fwd to going back! Read less
Orange Lake is like a little world all on it's own. We love staying at the resort. In all reality if you are there for a week you could keep busy there all week and never have to leave the grounds to... Read more find something to do! Naturally most people won't do this as it is Kissimmee and there are millions of things to do. The rooms at Orange Lake are immaculate, the service is fantastic, the amenities are great, the pools are wonderful and not over crowded as each village has there own pool and the grounds are beautiful! My only complaint would be the pool towels are useless, they are the size of a hair towel so be sure to take a beach towel and pools are not always as warm as they should be in my opinion. We have been several times, and can't wait to go back again! Read less
