TripAdvisor Traveller Rating:
My wife and I recently enjoyed our second stay at the Doubletree and received the most attentive, personalised service we've ever experienced. We are fairly frequent travellers, journeying... Read more overseas 4 - 8 times per year and first stayed at the Doubletree on honeymoon last year. This year, we were personally contacted beforehand (as returning guests and Hilton gold) and offered a range of services to make our stay more comfortable. Upon check-in, the service was friendly and attentive, with no effort spared to brief us on events at the hotel, on-site benefits, local attractions etc. Service around the hotel was equally impressive with several staff recognising us from over 1 year ago and genuinely appearing to be interested in us. As you'd expect, the standard things - food, drink, cleanliness etc were all done well. The personal touches offered by April Willis and Scott Tripoli added an extra dimension that made the trip stand-out. We were upgraded in our room, called to ensure everything was to our satisfaction, personally emailed after our stay to check everything was enjoyable...and so the list goes on. Overall, I was massively impressed - the small personal details really help the hotel remain one of our favourites and I've have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone. We’ll happily re-book at the hotel whenever we re-visit as we value its reliability, personal service and value-for-money offered. Read less
I know I've wrote about this hotel before but just back from our 4th visit to the DoubleTree and yet again it didn't disappoint but I've been told I need to be more picky so here goes. It was... Read more dearer this year Infact the dearest of the 4 times by far and the only noticeable difference that I could see was that our room was different than before i.e we had a fridge, microwave and small kitchen sink in our room. I don't know if this is an upgrade or if it's just different in the block we stayed this time, block 11, but it was a good difference for juice etc but seemed a bit of a price hike just for that also our room was not done 2 days in a row, a misunderstanding between us and housekeeping but when I told reception they could not be more helpful and apologetic in fact the manager phoned us twice and so did the housekeeping supervisor and lastly we all noticed that walking about our room in our socks or bare feet that the underside of our feet were black. The carpets could do with either changing or a right good clean but don't get me wrong, we love this hotel and would recommend it to anyone and will definitely go back. Read less
Okay, I'm 13 years old, and I flew to Florida with my family (mum,dad,brother-9) and my family friends (2adults,3children,16,13+9) and I spent my 16 nights on the 16th floor,(15th if you're clever... Read more enough to notice that there is no 13th floor) and I know most children say that every holiday is good, but I mean amazing and there is no word of a lie. On 20th of August 2013 I went to the premier inn overnight, to avoid waking up too early, but there's one catch - you can't sleep when you do it. If you do, make sure the night before you stay there, you deprive yourself of sleep, just to be sure you're not to tired for the wonderful 9hour flight coming your way. So, I went to bed, after enjoying a 30 minute free wifi, at about 10:00pm, but in reality slept at about 2:00am. Just talked to my brother. At 7:00am our alarm woke us up, ready to board our virgin Atlantic flight VS27 from LGW to MCO. But first we went to the virgin lounge. amazing. So, on flight entertainment was brilliant. On arrival we were greeted by a crosswind landing in a storm. I don't want to fly again. On return, nice, wonderful, beautiful England was nice and sunny when we got back at 8:00am. Every single park, even Disney was amazing, my favourite was definitely Hollywood Studios. Defiantly. So good we're returning next year, on same dates, just with Thompson this time. Same hotel. This hotel was spotless. Our hotel room was amazing. Door 21610. Except I got stuck in a lift.. God please save me.. I nearly died.... 15 floors down.. Wow. Buy if you ever go to Florida, remember, always, do, Disney, no, matter, your ,age. You'll love it. Read less
