The hotel

Get ready to be transported back in time, to a late-1800s New York. With its unique charm, you'll be sure to love Disney's Saratoga Springs the moment you step foot through the front doors. Your surrounds are rolling golf course greens and the calm Lake Buena Vista - sounds tranquil doesn't it? Talking of tranquil, you can treat yourself in the spa, and enjoy evening movies under the stars. But if tranquil isn't your thing, no problem! There's pools and waterslides galore, and you can be in the hustle and bustle of Disney Springs in no time at all, it's just a short boat ride away. If you're holidaying in a family or group, opt for a villa for plenty of room for everyone - the treehouse villas are particularly fun if you've got little ones (or even if you haven't!).

Parking can usually be found near your room. However, depending upon where you are on property you may be a fairly long distance from the lobby and other amenities. The location is about as centrally located as you can get in relation to all of the Disney theme parks. It is extremely close to Hollywood Studios and Epcot. The only reason this location doesn't get a five is that the rooms are slightly smaller than most of the comparable resorts in this category. They still offer the same level of amenities, but with a little less square footage. Read less

All Staff was attentive to our every need or want. We never saw anyone with a frown on their face. Check in was flawless and speedy even helping set up our Disney Watchbands. A few bumps in the road led to me complaining to the front desk staff. Joe, a manager (it seems everyone behind the counter is a manager), was only good at explaining the reasons/excuses why these things are happening. He did apologize, but the feeling was very robotic and not very empathetic. His solution was to offer a free mini van ride to the park. I went back the next morning to find The Manager, but encountered two more managers. They were more kind and sympathetic. They also offered a mini van ride and $60 credit to cover the cost of genie plus. Although my genie plus cost is $700 for a family of 4 for 5 days. My initial complaints were that the Villa we booked had a queen and twin Murphy bed advertised. The room they gave us did not have the twin pull down (an ADA remodeled room with a great parking lot view). We were eventually given the room we paid for, but it was a hassle. I did not complain until the disturbance at our door. Disney has a daily well check on all rooms. They come to your room, Do not disturb sign or not, and knock until you answer the door. The man attempted to explain (English wasn't the best) that they must enter and do a visual inspection that everyone is well. This was right at the beginning of a planned nap between parks. The disturbance was enough to prevent us from taking a nap and being able to return to the park 7pm-close. I don't pretend to know why this occurs. My complaint was that this was not explained at all in the check in process. I paid $8000 for 5 nights, 5 days at park, and rental car. (plus the $700 for genie plus) The room was nice. The grounds are beautiful. The only problem, is if there is a problem. It's obvious that Disney only allows the managers the ability to offer a free mini van ride and $60 credit as a solution to any problem that arises. They did tell me that the missing Murphy bed room happens to a lot of people. I told them that is deceiving to give customers a room that does not sleep as many as advertised. Some of Joe's responses were eye popping. "as good people we should accept that accidents happen" "what do you want a pile of money?" "I think Disney has enough money they aren't trying to do this on purpose" "WE don't have control over the rooms" Obviously someone hiding behind a desk somewhere controls the renovations and the decision to give these substandard 1 bedroom Villas to customers and hope we don't notice. I would not return Read less

First time staying at Saratoga Springs for a couples anniversary trip. The property was nicely kept. We stayed in a Studio and we were glad it was just the two of us without the kids. There is no way our family would have been comfortable in this space! There was a queen sized bed and a pull down (murphy style) full size bed. There was a coffee table, but no table or chairs to sit down to eat. The room was an awkward layout, basically a small regular hotel room with an elongated hallway. The kitchenette was clearly an after thought, the coffee maker could not be plugged in while on the counter, so we had to move it to the dresser to make coffee. One of our nightstands was the smallest bed side table ever, only enough room to be able to set your phone down. There is definitely more space for a family of 4 in Disney's regular Moderate rooms than in this deluxe studio space. Our room was also very loud! We had a door that could access an adjoining room and you could very clearly hear the TV and talking in the other room. The housekeepers have a very odd system of sliding large 50 gallon plastic totes through the corridors to prepare to clean the rooms in the mornings. They would slide and drag them across the concrete. They also would let the doors to their utility closets slam shut. This was their routine every morning. Ear plugs were necessary to sleep. Even people walking through the corridors talking at normal volumes could easily be heard. Overall, we definitely will not stay in a studio room here again! Way overpriced for what you get. You get a better set-up in a standard moderate room. The property overall was pretty and clean, however you can definitely hear what is going on outside the room while inside your room. I think this was the loudest Disney room we have ever stayed in! Sad that we paid more money on this room type. Read less
