TripAdvisor Traveller Rating:
First - very nice resort. The rooms are average and fare for the price however the Hotel and staff is of a 5 star. The lobby, restaurants, shops and staff for both the Dolphin and Swan Resorts are... Read more fantastic. The BIG #5 star for me on this whole deal was the staff - through and through the staff was amazing. If I could give the place 6 stars I would for one reason alone. I, like some other people do left something valuable behind in my room (discovered it at the airport as I was boarding). Made a call at the airport boarding home, was transferred around knowing that in my entire life nothing has ever been "found" in these situations, but this was NOT true with the Dolphin - they had it... let me know they had it... called me back when they got it... and SHIPPED it! AMAZING!!! Never in my many years of travel have I EVER stayed at a hotel that was all about the customer and throughout this entire trip every single person we came across was incredible. Even when I left my own valuables behind they found it, got it, and shipped it. No one has ever done anything but pocket it. Much respect for their integrity!! Read less
After reading some negative reviews- I almost cancelled our reservation. So glad we didn't!!! Great Location, clean room, friendly staff, and beautiful grounds. The beds were the most comfortable... Read more - need to find out the brand. We went as a family for the Disney experience. The holiday decorations are great and tonight we met Santa and enjoyed hot chocolate ( free of charge) I do wish that we were told to buy a coffee mug for the free refills- this would have benefited us greatly! Great stay...Don't get sucked into the negative reviews- plan to stay and enjoy :) Read less
My husband and I highly recommend the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels. You can tell the management at the Swan and Dolphin is super-focused on their visitors and this wonderful... Read more attitude translated to all of the people working there whom I met. The staff members were very, very friendly, professional and accommodating. If we needed to locate a certain place in the resort, they went out of their way to walk us there. I especially liked the room attendants who wished me God's blessing--since they could tell I am of like mind. Also, Karen and the people working at the Bluezoo Restaurant, were so helpful, interesting to talk with, and upbeat. The Spa is very nice and I got a wonderful pedicure and manicure. Other family members really liked the massages and facials, too. The hotel lobbies are wonderful, and the Christmas tree in the Dolphin lobby is beautiful. They have an elaborate chocolate Santa display at the Swan, and the little visitors certainly liked meeting Santa and Mrs. Claus in person, too. Our room was clean, pleasant, spacious and new. The bed and shower were better than home. The elevators are fast and plentiful (unlike some places I've stayed). Everything is very clean and well tended. In terms of food, I think I had one of the best meals of my life at the Bluezoo. The food was delicious and the presentations beautiful. The tuna tartar is especially noteworthy as is the banana dessert (5 layers of great tastes). The Bluezoo was our favorite restaurant, but we also enjoyed Il Mulino, which has super Italian food including home made pastas. It's also super easy to get around the theme parks as the Swan and Dolphin have their own buses that run often. Everyone at the hotel seemed to be really enjoying themselves, kids and adults alike. We highly recommend the Swan and Dolphin. Read less
I posted a similar review on their website in response to their request but they seem to only post ones with glowing praise. We stayed 5 days at the Swan last year, 7 at the Dolphin this year... Read more . This review is about the Dolphin. After staying at both, we probably prefer the Swan because it's smaller and not cluttered. Convenient: Like most Disney hotels, you wouldn't have to leave for anything except the parks. Close: You can walk to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Walk through Epcot and get to Magic Kingdom via Monorail, and buses go to Animal Kingdom and all the parks. Clean: It's clean and the employees work hard to keep it that way. Cluttered:1) Something dripped/was dripping? onto the plexiglass light cover in the elevator. Always makes me wonder, sorry. 2) There are ALWAYS maid carts/fold-up beds/in-room dining carts in the hallways. Anyway, the Dolphin is clean, the employees were outstanding - friendly, considerate and mostly outgoing despite what might have been their busiest time of the year. If you book a fireworks view room, the view is blocked on 5 where we were. You can see the high fireworks just can't see the low ones. I think I read this somewhere else, but forgot to ask for a higher floor room so I can't say if that makes a difference. It's cool enough and you can hear most of it. Read less
I encountered many challenges with this "tired" property since arriving for conference. Here are a few of the problems experienced and some of the highlights: Needs improvement: - TV didn't... Read more work (did fix next when called) - Phone didn't work (did replace next day) - Lock on balcony broken (didn't even mention) - Services offered, not received - Rooms poorly lit/outdated/just old (furniture, bathroom, etc.) - Not up to Starwood or Luxury listing advertised Good: - Staff (above average) - Location - Great/Close to all Disney activities While this property my be acceptable for the occasional traveler, for those that travel often, I would say that it is average at best and for the prices charged. I expected better - Price/value relationship was not there! Quite frankly, it was disappointing and it simply shows poor management to allow a the rooms to be sold to guests with the simple/basics not being right. Many in our group shared similar concerns...
