TripAdvisor Traveller Rating:
I went to Kanahura with some reservations as I had not been too impressed with the website or the pre-arrival service (in terms of exchange of information from the hotel etc). I must say that all... Read more reservations were 100% dispelled from the moment we landed. The islands (including jenuhura) are an absolute paradise and the staff are incredibly welcoming. Nothing is too difficult, they will accommodate every need and surpass your expectations. Kids club staff is also excellent and very proactive and we made full use of the babysitting service at night. There is a relaxed feel on the island and one feels like robinson crusoe which I understand is not attained in some of the more trendy/modernist resorts. We stayed on the sunset side which I think is better as the beach is much wider and not obstructed by the water villas. Also much better for families and at all times we felt like we were the only people on the island...such tranquility. (Make sure you are on the southern half of the island as the power generators are on the north side). Breakfast buffet was excellent with anything you could possibly need provided. Overall food during lunch and dinner is good (though not excellent); I thought the fresh fruit, veg, salad selection might be improved. The spa treatments were fantastic as was the watersports and dive centre which we made full use of for scuba diving, waterskiing, canoeing and excursions. Final verdict: I would go there every year if I could afford it. Read less
The most romantic place I have ever been! After a 45 minute seaplane ride we arrived in this magical paradise. The white sand and turquoise water make for a stunning contrast and you instantly feel... Read more yourself unwinding. The thing I love about the Maldives is the sense of isolation and privacy, Kanuhura is no exception. The island is covered with lush vegetation for the nature lovers! Our beach villa was spacious and comfortable, featuring an outdoor shower and bath large enough for two...Luckily the air conditioning was sufficient because the Maldives can become very humid. Definitely stay somewhere with A/C. The staff were all fabulous and welcoming, the food was delicious, must try the Naughticolada cocktail! Highly recommend the private dining experience on the beach, they transport you in a speed boat over to the adjacent island where you have your own waiter and chef. My boyfriend proposed to me there so maybe we will return for our anniversary. Loved it. Read less
I booked a 7 night trip. The resort, Kanuhura on Lhaviyani Atoll is first class with pristine, stunning white, sandy beaches, comfortably appointed Beach Villas ( a superb bed with private access to... Read more a pool like lagoon with infinity views. It is all the brochure depicts and more! The staff were amazing and the food excellent. The house reef is rather disappointing since the Tsunami and bleaching have ravaged it to a large degree, but I did see a fair few Bluefin Trevally, some jacks, one small black GT, Bonefish and a shoal of Permit while snorkelling. It was so frustrating not being able to cast to them! Arrangement can be made with the Big Game fishing section and we had a successful day and a half fly fishing and popping on flats and outer reef and separate island nearby. I chose the resort for its Wedding Ceremony experience and capabilities, although I wanted a Renewal of Vows Ceremony as a complete surprise for my wife to celebrate 10 years of marriage. The Resort staff took care of everything for me in advance - their attention to detail in responding promptly to my myriad questions and the overall customer service was faultless. As was the resort staff with the arrangements for the Renewal of Vows Ceremony. It was perfect in all respects. It is very rare that one's expectations and aspirations for an occasion as important as a Wedding or similar occasion as this to be beautifully appointed, as well organised and arranged. However, Kanuhura's multinational management team and staff exceeded my high expectations considerably. My wife was absolutely blown away with it all so it will be cherished for the rest of our lives. went for 7 nights with our 6 year old daughter and friends with their 4 and 6 year old daughters.Any concerns we may have had in view of the apparent couple centric resort were completely swept away -The Kids club was brilliant and the children had a fabulous time there. The staff were excellent and kept them busy with indoor and outdoor games, craft making and even a movie night. The children never wanted to leave! The staff would also come around to the restaurant to collect the children at breakfast and would, for our convenience, escort them back to wherever we were when they had finished. The resort was fully booked and yet, other than at breakfast and dinner, when the guests all appeared, it was blissfully quiet and totally relaxing. The catering was outstanding in the main restaurant - buffet style with a variety of theme nights throughout the week with an array of varied dishes to suit all tastes. The Wine list was comprehensive and were very good, albeit rather pricey, but with the logistics in the Maldives, one expects this. To conclude, we thoroughly enjoyed our 7 nights and can honestly say it would be hard to find a more idyllic location where the staff, facilities and standards combine to such a high standard. Read more place. After a long trip from London our seaplane arrived at the jetty and we were treated with a warm handshake and the words 'welcome home MR Anderson' From then on we received nothing other than exceptional levels of service, whether it be from the staff by the pool who asked to clean my sunglasses to my waiter who was always ready with my glass of champagne at breakfast. If and when I return to the Maldives I will only ever come to Kanuhura as I am certain that after this everywhere else would simply disappoint in comparison. Read less

The food was exceptional in quality and presentation. Avoid the buffet, have lunch at Olive tree next to the pool and dinner at Veli cafe. The full-board option (food only) is quite pricey. If you are happy with a sizeable salad for lunch and main meal for supper, then go without, else rather pay for the full-boardoption. Diving simply a MUST DO! We stayed for a week with our 3 year old son. Great facilities, but pls note that under 4 year olds must have a caretaker, rather pricey at USD40 PER HOUR!!!
