TripAdvisor Traveller Rating:
It is nowhere mentioned on the hotel website that it is situated away from the beach. Ii is not a seafront hotel and if you choose deluxe rooms you are sure to be disappointed. You will be sent to... Read more a corner of the hotel premises with no view of sea or pool. We stayed in rooms 511 and 512. Phone not working. Wifi connection extremely slow-not worth trying. Pool resembling those of the 1960s with no tiles. Food was average and for the buffet, if you have had pastries, you are told that you are not entitled to ice cream!!!! We have stayed at Recif Attitude and believe it or not Coin de Mire cannot be compared to Recif. Don't lose your money on this hotel. Recif attitude is 1000 times better. Read less
We had a wonderful time at the Coin de Mire hotel. The people are very friendly and willing to fulfill your wishes. We had a deluxe room which was perfect. The room was beautiful and very clean. The... Read more employees cleaned our room every day, gave us new towels and tidied the place up. There was a big bed, a tv + dvd player, sitting lounge and a nice balcony. The bathroom and the shower were very nice and clean. The food was delicious. There’s enough choice of food, no matter if for breakfast or for dinner. The restaurant itself is very nice, situated next to the pool, covered with a roof but you can also sit under the stars which was just lovely. The pool was mostly clean, not very big but then again there were never many people at the pool so we were usually the only ones swimming. The only negativ point is the nearby street which at times can be very noisy, especially the buses. Never heard buses making that much noise before. But it’s not a big deal anyway. The garden of the hotel is very nice, with lot’s of trees and palm trees, little cascades and sitting lounges. The internet by the reception and by the restaurant worked most of the time, altough the signal’s sometimes a bit weak. The prices for drinks and food are pretty high as always if your not all inclusive. As for the beach, you have to cross the road which is no problem at all, and you get to the hotel beach. The sandy strip is very small and most people of the hotel stayed right there, that’s why we chose to walk 20 minutes to the west and we had beautiful beaches just to ourselves. There were hardly any people there and the beaches are much nicer than the one right by the hotel. The sea itself is very clear and warm, at some places I would wear water shoes but we always chose a place where the sand was very soft, and so was the sand in the water. All in all we had a wonderful time at the hotel and we would definitely go back to this place. Read less

My boyfriend and I spent two weeks at Coin De Mire Attitude in March and enjoyed our holiday thoroughly. This was 5th time for me in Mauritius and had high expectations as I had previously stayed in... Read more a very good hotel in the east coast. We had booked a superior room which was completely fine but a little bit dated like others have said ( especially the bathroom). After one week we upgraded to a deluxe and what a lovely difference.. Even the towels felt softer, the soap quality was better. The decor of dark wood and turquoise is a lovely combination. We had a room on the highest floor with a balcony and were very happy with it. The gardens are a little more beautiful in the superior side than the deluxe and in a way you feel that you are more in the nature there as you hear more of the beautiful singing of the birds and sometimes share the room with cute little geccos! The deluxe room feels more like a European style hotel room. Overall we were very happy we spent one week in each type of a room! The location of the hotel is ideal as there are many lovely places to see in Mauritius and the North is a good starting point. The taxis outside the hotel charge a lot and we never used them. The best way is to stop a random taxi. We for example paid only 100-150 rupees ( £2-3 ) to Grand Baie. We also hired a car for four days for about £23 per day. The buses are very good and cheap to use! They have always the windows open so you won't be hot even on a very warm day. As an example they charge only 24 rupees ( £0.50) per person going to Grand Baie. The beach I would describe with the word cut! It is small and has got a lovely feeling as the locals are fishing there and there are lots of boats. It is very small though. On a windy day the sea was not as clear as on other days. Also the ground can be a little bit muddy but that wasn't a problem and swimming was always enjoyable. During our stay we visited different stunning beaches all over the island and Month Choisy was in our opinion the best! It is only 30 min bus drive away from the hotel and the sand in the sea is the finest I have seen on the island! The food - my favourite at the breakfast was the pancakes, omelettes and fresh fruit! The choice is good but a little limited. The dinner was everyday different and most nights it was very enjoyable. The choice is not huge but I always found something tasty. Especially the soup was always very good! So were the desserts. I would like to esspecially thank Manjoo ( I believe he is the restaurant manager). He was always so welcoming! There is a house cat too called Pasquale and he is so sweet! I would say the hotel is a 3+ star hotel. If there was a little bit bigger budget for entertainement, larger choice of food and if the superior rooms were upgraded then I would call it a 4-star hotel. I would certainly stay again and would recommend to anyone! I would also like to say a huge thanks to Ravi! PLEASE BE AWARE of the yellow ice cream van that stops on the road by the beach. He will rip you off. We naively paid for two ice creams 400 rupees = £8.00 ( I know this was so silly from us to agree) and on top of this the ice cream was melting literally in seconds in our hands and I ended just throwing them away. We paid for a much better ice cream only 50 rupees somewhere else. This ice cream van has nothing to do with the hotel but stops by the beach several times a day! and people keep getting tricked by him. I heard someone even paid 400 rupees for ONE icecream. I know this is only a minor problem but I would call it the only negative thing that happened in our holiday :) Read less

Read more a little tired but are large and adequate( how much time do you spend in there !).We were all inclusive and the drinks in the mini bar with the exception of the wine was included and also the tea and coffee. The food in the restaurant was good although there was not a huge choice, lunch time was chosen from a menu and breakfast and dinner was buffet, We had no complaints at all, other than the wine , it was awful !!,being wine drinkers we were a little disappointed. After a couple of days one of the waiters found us some wine we could have on the all inclusive basis that was drinkable otherwise we would have to pay for a bottle off the drinks menu which we were loathed to do .Other than the wine overall we thought the hotel was exceptionally good for a 3 star. And ALL the staff were superb and couldn't do enough for you.Being a Travel Agent I would definitely recommend this hotel .Thankyou for really enjoyable stay. Read less
