TripAdvisor Traveller Rating:
Wonderful welcome for our none standard arrival on our own boat in the harbour. Very confusing bar tariff list in the room. There were 2 bottles of local water on top together with nuts, crisps, and... Read more creams all on the bar tariff list (2no. local water at 70R on list). So assumed as it was listed as local water on the tariff list that they were naturally chargeable. Hence no free water in the room. Only on chatting to David Bassaluy (who circulated regularly around the guests doing a great communication role) did it become clear that there was a miss type on the bar list instead of local water it should have been the branded water Acqua Panna. Need to reprint the room bar tariff lists. Whilst on the subject of water it would be a good idea for a bottle of the local water to be provided free with the evening meal. It certainly upsets a lot of europeans who have free local (tap) water at evening meals in their own countries. TV didn't work and nor did the room perimeter lights neither made any difference to our enjoyment. The deluxe garden room was excellent a large well appointed room with sitting area. Bed had a cantilevered frame over which carried the mosquito nets needed when we were there as they were having rain at some time most days. Spacious bathroom well laid out. Out side daybed on decking with pool hammock and in the garden a raised covered podium with table and chairs. Having walked the area if we stayed again the deluxe beach villa would be the choice. The spa decking has been repaired but unfortunately in this climate the timber is conctantly decaying and this area does need attention again. The treatments, I understand, from my wife were good as was the room. We ate at Grann Kaz, which is a colonial style house, where he family that used to own the island lived, which has been renovated and kept its originality. Menu good and staff helpful. There is the Seychellois problem with fish that needs to be extremely well cooked. Knowing this we asked for the fish to be moist, which did not transpose to the finished item. Rectified by producing again this time much closer to what was ordered. Second night at Sakura - very good menu choice and the food was excellent, the staff friendly and efficient different wine menu from Grann Kaz. Sashumi excellent. Also must mention Amina who having seen in the morning, when we decided to change venue to Sakura following discussion with David B, changed our booking and was there in the evening. She really knows her job and portrays the resort in the best possible ways. The breakfast selection was very good and frequently refreshed. Used the fitness centre which was adequately equipped. Snorkelled in Anse Lascar not walking to get there some coral not a lot of fish also snorkelled Anse Mondon where the coral is very good again not many fish there had been quite a rain storm the day before which may have affected things? Overall a good stay and one of the better resort islands. Read less
Had a great week in a beach villa at the Hilton Labriz in November 2013. Like others have said, it's a beatiful property on a beatiful island. The pace is slow and relaxed, which was just what we... Read more were looking for. There are typical beach resort diversions (spa, tennis, hiking, pool), and all the staff were very accommodating and friendly. The food and drink is crazy expensive, but you have to know that going in because everything has to be shipped into the island which greatly escalates cost. The biggest disappointment in paying a premium price for the food was that the preparation, presentation, and taste didn't come close to matching the cost. We were especially hoping for more at the local cuisine destinatiton Grand Kaz, but were happily impressed with the Italian restaurant Portabello. One tip - make reservations at least 24 hours in advance. Every night. Even in low season, the resort strives to ensure smooth service at all restaurants by not overloading them with diners. This helps achieve that. We dove two days with Eco Dive - the island's only dive shop. Our guides and boat drivers were friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. But, the price to dive more was simply too prohibitive for us and they do not offer any sort of dive packages to make the price a bit more palatable. Be prepared for sticker shock. Overall, a great trip to a great island, a great country, and a great Hilton property. The resort is wonderfully maintained, and the staff goes out of the way to ensure all guests have a fantastic vacation! Read less

We opted for the Beachfront Deluxe room and it was worth it. We were wowed when we walked in! Because this room as a covered patio, we were able to have a chef prepare a private BBQ for us that was... Read more divine!!!! We also opted for a la carte as we watch what and how much we eat. If you do eat a lot, it is worth it to go half or full board as it is very pricey. We loved the Tepanaki and Grann Kaz resteraunts as the food and service was impeccable. This honeymoon was how we imagined it and it was exactly what we wanted. The island is so quiet and serene, exactly what we were looking for. My husband finished his PADI while we were there and did some incredible dives together. We also had a "Just for Two" spa treatment that every couple should enjoy. We manage to hike on our own and wished we had more time to do other hikes as the island is beautiful. The only complaint we had which Hilton rectified immediately, was that our reservations on the mainland had got mixed up (due to integration problem of 2 booking systems) and we were left without a room when we arrived. Hilton found us another deluxe room closeby in another hotel and paid for it. We would definitely recommend this resort to anyone that wants to get away and relax in Paradise!!!! Read less
