We... Read more were welcomed with a lemonade and a bracelet for my daughter and I. After we checked in someone immediately grabs you to try and sell excursions at a discount rate if you attend a 2 hour seminar - no thanks! Your stay includes an $1800 resort credit to be used at the spa, excursions and some of the stores inside the hotel. My husband and I each had 2 massages, they were wonderful! I recommend the hot stone massage! My daughter and I each had a mani/pedi. We did the dolphin excursion-highly recommend; it is a short bus ride from the hotel. We bought the pictures at the end very pricey but worth it! We also did the snorkeling excursion also great! All the latter items were used with hotel credits. The kids had a blast in the pool but I will say there are some college spring breakers and they were at one end of the pool and we were at the other so it was fine. The kids had a blast at the pool foam party! Plenty of food to eat outside by the pool pizza, tacos, hamburgers etc...The staff is amazing! The view by the pool was amazing! The ocean is such an amazing blue color!! We went to a show every night at the outdoor theatre. My husband was a little disappointed; he really wanted to have that "hard rock" vibe. He wanted to see a true hard rock band being a musician. He plays the electric guitar but the shows were great! The kids have already said they want to go back! Read less

This was an incentive meeting trip. Our group had attendees from all over the US. They enjoyed the Rock and Roll theme. The food on the Buffets were fresh and delicious. The staff was warm... Read more , helpful and welcoming. They were attentive to our needs, able to adjust the dietary needs of the program. Thank you to Pepe, our Convention Services Manager. He was outstanding in assisting us to the smallest detail. The General Manager and Assistant General Manager were visible and engaged in the operations of the Resort. The rooms were clean, the beach was amazing, who could ask for anything more? Definitely try the Teppanyaki tables for dinner at the Asian Restaurant. The food was plentiful, delicious and the show was enjoyable. The Brazilian Restaurant was also terrific. The food was authentically Brazilian. Sadly, I did not have the chance to try the Mexican or Buffet Restaurants for dinner. My secret? Go to the Italian Restaurant for breakfast. You can either use the buffet there or get your food from the larger Market restaurant. The restaurants are connected. Why so good? The servers are attentive, it is a quieter restaurant and... they will serve you a cappucino if you ask. Well worth it! The hostess was wonderful, remembered my name after 1 visit and remembered where I liked to sit. The spa was good. Tried a mud massage. Different from a standard massage. Sort of a combination treatment/massage. Liked it. The massage was abbreviated but I was so relaxed I couldn't think afterwards. Yeah, that good. All in all, definitely a quality experience. We just returned from a seven night stay here. It was our first trip to Mexico and I don't think we could have picked a better place. It was great! Our transportation service dropped us off and we... Read more were greeted by name by the bellhop. Very neat touch. We walked in and the whole place shines - the floors, the displays, everything. The lobby smells very pleasant too. We took an early flight so our room wasn't ready, but we got checked in and headed to the pool area. The pool is awesome, and the food around it even better. We got into our room, and it too was very clean. The whole place is clean - I don't think I saw one piece of litter anywhere the whole time. Something is always being cleaned or shined. We were there during a very busy spring break week, so even some painting was going on. They take care of the place. The food was very good. The variety at the Market (buffet) was incredible with many cultures represented. Zen was also a family favorite. Ipanema as well. The brick oven pizzas and fresh tacos by the pool are not to be missed. The bartenders are so good with the kids, treating them like customers (good with the adults too, but the way they make the kids a NA drink deserves a shout out). The kids wear a different colored wristband than the adults so there's no question of age. The nightly entertainment was fun, with the staff really livening thing up. Oso, Luis, Nadia, and several others were funny and seemed to love their jobs. The nightly shows were great, and again, lots of variety. We went to every one. My teenage son took advantage of Picks and borrowed a guitar for the stay. All four of us visited the salon and spa. Using the resort credit for this is a way to get a great cut or mani for only 20% of the cost. I've read some reviews with concern about the noise. We were on the 4th floor and the only noise issues we had were our neighbors (and they weren't kids) coming home in the wee hours, talking at the top of their lungs, slamming doors, etc. This is the result of rudeness and possibly bad parenting, and is no way the fault of the hotel. We've stayed at some high end places and always have this issue. Other than that, l don't know what the noise complaints are. It's ummmm, the HARD ROCK! If you don't want noise and a fun atmosphere, I'd recommend staying at one of the more boring places. The overall vibe of this place is fun. We were with a lively and happy crowd the week we stayed. The music selection played by the pool and Smash Bar was fantastic. We didn't have to listen to Top 40 or Country for an entire week. That's worth a million bucks right there. Keep up the good work, Hard Rock staff! We don't think we met a crabby employee the entire time, all were so polite and accommodating. We hope to be back and will definitely stay here. Read less

I spent 3 nights at the Hard Rock a couple weeks ago. I found that overall it was a pretty nice place. I enjoyed that the hotel wasn't gigantic - it was pretty easy to get around. I've stayed at... Read more other Playa/Cancun resorts where it was like walking across an amusement park trying to get anywhere. So that was good. The service at Hard Rock was very good. Everyone that worked there was pretty friendly and accommodating. I did find that their time share sales were just about as annoying as anywhere else, but we did get a spa credit out of the deal. Beware though; you will get the hard sell no matter how gentle they are about it. Be prepared to spend 2 hours of your morning getting a tour and a hard sell. Aside from that the pool was nice. We had no trouble finding a spot by the pool. The beach was very nice and they even had a lifeguard on duty. The drinks were flowing (we had an all inclusive deal) and the servers were right there as long as you tipped a buck or two each time. That's how we got the best drink service. I found the pool area sort of annoyingly loud with an emcee and a DJ/band. The clientele at Hard Rock is really weird to me - it was full of bros, families, old people, boomers, young couples, and 30-40 something year old travelers. Just a weird mix of people. Not complaining at all - Hard Rock must be doing it right to attract all walks of life like they do. I myself play in a band, so I don't really mind all the loud music etc, but at times it got annoying. Just not my cup of tea I guess. A few shots of tequila helped a lot. The WIFI at the pool was nearly non existent - they could use a few more routers to spread out the internet connectivity. The room was very nice. We were upgraded right away to a deluxe room with a jacuzzi in it. I spent every day sitting in that jacuzzi after a day in the sun. The bed I found was comfortable. The TV was sort of low budget, but that was fine. I found that on that first night we got turn-down service, a full fridge etc but each day after that we didn't get the refilled fridge, turn-down etc. I didn't understand that. We never ordered room service so I can't comment on the room service food. There was a lot of noise around the room. I feel like Hard Rock could do a better job muffling the noise - just tons of hallway noise echoing throughout the halls. I was up late pretty much every night, but I could still hear everything going on outside the room. The view from the room (11th floor) was great. Awesome view. Great interior design. The food was really good I thought. I enjoyed the Asian restaurant the best. I had sushi, sake, Japanese grill/habachi. Great food. The other buffets and restaurants were good as well. The beach/pool buffet during the day was pretty standard: pizza, burgers, bbq. It too was very good. All in all, great food for an all inclusive. Spent a short time at the spa, which was decent. Their jacuzzi/spa area was tiny. Could use a renovation/bigger space. The 80 minute massage I got was very good. Not a whole lot to say about the spa. Pretty good. Really we had a good time at Hard Rock and would go back again someday. My only constructive criticism would be the credits/timeshare tour be easier/clearer/less time -- actually I would just suggest skipping that part, unless you're ready to drop a few grand right there on the spot to join their LEGENDARY club. My advice, just get there and relax. Have a great vacation and let Hard Rock serve it up. Read less
