TripAdvisor Traveller Rating:
Hotel itself was lovely and clean, food was plenty and mostly appealing the only 2 quarrels I have is that the first week we were there it was spring break, lovely to see the place full & thriving... Read more except at 6am of a morning there were NO sun beds available at all anywhere in the complex!!! Shocking when well over half of them were not used till late afternoon!! Clean rooms?? Left the change bed sign on there every other day to my surprise they had only been turned upside down on the bed with same marks on as day before, rang to complain but nothing was done about it, also 4 people in a room you think we ALL would have a towel each?! NO 2 between 4 of us, called down several occasions & was bought 2 more up on one occasion. Surely it's common sense if there are 4 people in a room you would need 4 towels? Miriam in lobby sunrise bar was very kind & always attentive Read less
Amazing resort! Food is incredible with more choices than anyone could need. Rooms are good. We stayed in the Palm Tree building. Oceanfront room with excellent location on property. In my opinion... Read more Nizuk is the best location. The beach is not the best but we knew that going in and you will never miss it. The best part was the staff. We felt like royalty all week. I want to specifically mention Hecner Martinez and his team, Jorge Baas and Javier Felix in the El Manglar restaurant in Nizuk lobby. They made our trip!! Hecner knew all of our names, he went out of his way to make my daughters feel special . He was kind and funny and we went there every morning for breakfast because of him and his partners. Thank you Hecner! We love Palace Resorts and will definitely be back. Read less
Just got back from a two week family holiday at the Moon Palace. Unless you have ever stayed at a resort of this size it takes you a couple of days to get used to it. There are three sections to the... Read more hotel; Sunrise, Nizuc and Grande. Sunrise was the largest and certainly the busiest and we were glad that we had booked to stay in the Nizuc section which was still very busy but somewhat smaller. Given its size the hotel was still very stylish and always immaculate. I was a bit worried about how the food would be, but generally it was excellent. The beach as everyone has said was not great, but it was the ideal place to sunbathe as the constant breeze off the ocean negated the need to cool off. The service was excellent and the staff could not be friendlier, albeit given the size of the resort you rarely saw the same face twice and therefore it was not as personal as it could have been. Having said that there were a couple of individuals who stood out and provided a very personal service; Carlos at the Nizuc pool and Macedonio and his team in the restaurant. They could not have been more helpful and friendly and they were also great with our kids. The two 'fine dining' restaurants at the golf club were excellent and I would recommend going to both if you are there. Despite being a golfer I didn't play but the course looked great and some people that I spoke to said it was excellent. My wife raved about the spa and the massage that I had was superb. Although the resort is big enough to stay in the whole time of your stay you should definitely visit Tulum/Xelha. It is about an hour and a half away but definitely worth the trip. Xelha is absolutely stunning and you could spend a whole day there without doing any of the added activities that you have to pay for. The only real negative from our stay was the very heavy sales pitch for a time share at the resort. The tour of the resort was worth doing and our guide German was delightful, but we were then handed off to the 'closers' who were devoid of any charm and very very pushy. Whilst it is something we would and still are considering we didn't appreciate being strong armed into a decision and financial commitment on the day. But, if you are looking for a perfect family Easter get away then you will struggle to find anywhere better than Moon Palace or Cancun. Read less
This was great family vacation for me. We were able to enjoy the great amenities they have on the resort. Swimming was a major activity, as was, eating. We enjoyed ourselves at the many (16...
