TripAdvisor Traveller Rating:
Dream week in the end of January. Really enjoyed it and wished we could have stayed longer! Weather was a bit variable which gave us the opportunity to leave easier the beach behind and explore the... Read more surrounding of the hotel and the largest Mayan ruins in cloudy days. Chichen Itza tour offered with hotel credit was great. Started at 9 am from the hotel and we arrived back at 7.30 pm. Tour guide, Benjamin, was knowledgeable and funny. We spent a great day exploring the Mayan history. The spa is an other way to spend those credits. Both, my husband and myself enjoyed a very relaxing massage and pampering in the hotel`s spa. Good to know that women and man sections are separately. It was a surprise, no one mentioned it before. The hotel - stayed in Nizuc - is very spacious, elegant. I liked the deco. Buffet breakfast and lunch were just fantastic. Everyone can find their favourite meal/drink even people with intolerance (gluten-free, lactose-free). You have plenty of restaurants to choose from every evening. Our personal favourite was the Brazilian style, Arrecifes. Stuff all around was superb, always smiling, helpful and friendly. Colourful amphitheatre programmes every evening. Jacko night was excellent. We liked the Sunrise lobby with the singer almost every evening, he made a great atmosphere. Even a night club if you want to have party. Tip is very important in Mexican culture. It was strange that as soon as we got on the airport transfer bus the guide explained how important is to tip to the bus driver as he is driving very good and very safe; to the lobby boy, who is carrying your luggage very carefully; to the waiters...etc. I assume these are kind of educational kind of speeches... All in all I would go back any time and recommend to everyone. Read less

This past Oct/Nov 2015 my wife and I and 5 other couples again visited the Moon Palace Golf and Spa Resort. The vacation was outstanding. Four of us stayed in one of the Presidential Suites for a... Read more week and the accommodations were wonderful. The reservations for the entire party were handled by Ms. Lilia Montejo of the Diamond Elite section of the resort. She ensured we had dinner reservations for every evening, including a different birthday cake each evening because all in attendance seemed to be Scorpios. Miss. Montejo was very flexible and patient to the needs of 12 people for a week. She is to be commended. The food was outstanding at every restaurant we dined at. Service was equally excellent. To recommend one restaurant over another is simply one's favorite cuisine. I would suggest that a different place to dine every night will give you equal pleasure and the opportunity to experience all offered in Moon Palace. The pool was not crowded and the weather cooperated for the majority of the time there. We were fortunate as the staff was by frequently to ask for drink or food orders at the pool. It was pleasure to enjoy the sun and the pool. We had a small problem regarding a leak in our bedroom due to the 50 mile winds and constant rain for two of the days there. Ms. Montejo and Ms. Ariana Vicino worked very hard to resolve the problem and did so without any real inconvenience. We ended up moving to another Presidential Suite located within the Sunrise Complex. It was even more convenient than where we had stayed previously before the storm. Ms. Montejo also arranged for a nice surprise in our room as a welcome to the new suite. The four of use enjoyed a cheese tray and champagne. Inside our bedroom was a bubble bath with rose petals and champagne as well. Real class. The Public Relations Manager for the Sunrise Complex was very considerate and provided comped rooms for two days for myself and the other couple that were forced to move because of the leak. That was also extremely nice and showed total dedication to ensuring we received consideration for the slight inconvenience. Since I had just recently recovered from a major back operation and still not able to walk well, we were provided transportation throughout the resort as needed. It made things quite easy. Upon checkout I again spoke with Mr. Xavier De Araujo, the Supervisor for the Diamond Services in the Sunrise. This was a different encounter from last year. It was both pleasant and professional. Cudos to Mr. De Araujo for his promotion. Everyone at the resort goes out of their way to ensure all who stay there are treated well. It is a pleasure to go back every year. I certainly urge all who read this to visit the Moon Place Golf and Spa Resort. You will not regret it in the least. While there, the resort was completely full due to conventions. Additionally, one of the resort areas was closed for renovation, further creating what might have been a crowded resort. There was absolutely no loss of services. The entire resort staff handled it well. The only area I think still needs improvement is the shuttle between the various resort buildings and the Spa. It is supposed to run on a set schedule but never seems to make it. There is also some question as to which side of the spa building one is to wait at to get a ride back. It would be easier if the schedule was actually met and signs posted as to where to wait depending on which of the three resort buildings one is returning to. This is a small inconvenience considering all you get for a great price. Read less
Recently, we booked a last minute trip to this resort. We had been looking for an all-inclusive with plenty of dining options and activities to keep us interested and, most importantly, keep our... Read more almost 3 year old occupied. We got what we were searching for at Moon Palace. First off, the resort is HUGE with 3 different "areas" to stay in. There's Sunrise (very kid-friendly), Nizuc (more for adults) and Grand (definitely for adults). However, all 3 can be accessed by plenty of available shuttles and/or friendly staffers willing to take you in golf carts (which swing by quite often). Sunrise was our choice. With it's great, large pool, separate whirlpools and a cool, pirate and slide themed kids area, we spent the majority of our time here having fun with our toddler. Had to get him to step out of the very hot Mexican sun sometimes and we all enjoyed lounging on the many available covered chaises surrounding the pools. From other reviews, you might have read that the beach is nothing to write home about. Yup, that's true. However, with so much to see and enjoy at Moon Palace, it was a complete non-issue for us. BTW- apparently our son doesn't care much for the beach anyway. When the sun was too intense, you can take your little ones to the indoor play area in Sunrise. They have many activities, games, slides, etc. to keep them occupied for several hours. In fact, 4 year olds and up can stay and enjoy the facilities while being entertained by the friendly staff and mommy and daddy can have some "couple time" alone for a bit. Rooms are spacious, lovely and immaculately clean. Beds are comfy and the outdoor decks are great to enjoy complimentary snacks and drinks available in the rooms. At night, enjoy an evening's performance while sitting under the stars. It was nice to see so many families gathered enjoying shows like "the Circus" or "Michael Jackson" imitators. The hosts are great and quite entertaining getting the audience to participate and partake in skits. Even my 2 year old enjoyed was dancing :) Looking forward to our next visit here! Read less
