Great resort, very, very large so if you are not a good walker and have a good sense of direction you may get lost or be worn out by the time you get to where you want to go. Because of the number... Read more of people in the resort they have to divide traffic flow with many sets of stairs and bridges to get to one destination. Lots of bridges to go over or go all the way around. FOOD: Best buffet food I've ever seen or tasted, nicely presented and hot. A LA CARTES were good but not amazing POOL: very nice, clean and can swim forever BEACH: Worst beach I've ever been to in Mexico. Because of it's location and lovely warm water it grows a lot of ocean grasses which collects a lot of garbage, so very polluted. We waded in and saw a few small sea snakes and some fish but really not swim-able and they trucks that clean the washed up seaweed tend to sit and idle while they chat with each other. Nasty smelling fumes ROOMS: very nice, clean, modern. BEACH CHAIRS: get up early to get in shade (before 8am) STAFF: wonderful great service, premium liquor. Best points: nice room, best drinks, best buffet, good pool, best beds ever Worst: Beach and size, many conventions at this resort so lots of crowds. Read less

This is a very delayed trip report so please forgive us if the mentioned staff have moved on since we visited. This was our second visit to the Moon Palace and it did not disappoint, in fact, due to... Read more the efforts of certain members of staff it was our best holiday yet! We stayed in the Moon Grand which has fantastic large balconies with table and chair's, it even had a double lounger which was lovely for an outdoor afternoon snooze. The rooms at the Grand are large, tastefully decorated, and were kept spotlessly clean by the ever busy cleaning crew. The evening entertainment was amusing and the resort even had local market traders set up to sell their wares on certain nights of the week so we didn't even need to go offside to shop as we had done in the past. Yes, you probably pay a few £'s more for purchases (don't forget to barter!), but really for the convenience of not having to lug purchases back to the hotel and pay for a taxi we loved the concept. We tried many of restaurants onsite and found most of them to be very good. Our favourite was the Oriental restaurant at the Golf Club, this was due to the tasty dishes and the outstanding service we received. I cannot begin to tell you how much Rafael Hdz. and his staff (in particular David Bracamonte, & Carlos Acosta) made our holiday. Rafael was the perfect Matradee who made us feel so special and was always attentive making sure everything was perfect. We love the resort and would go back in a heartbeat! As for timeshare comments. I have to say that we never got asked about timeshares, nor did we get treated any differently because we didn't attend a timeshare promotion. The only minor issue we had was on one evening (2am) there were 2 couples who were drunk, still drinking, and talking incredibly loudly outside our room. They had children asleep in bed so they had decided to take the party down the corridor in front of our room. It took several calls to security to get them moved. Read less

As a person who loves beaches, I was terribly disappointed. The beach is terrible and full of sea weed. There are warning signs of sea orchins, jelly fish and sea lice. That being said, if you like... Read more to eat, drink and hang out at the pool on your vacation, this is the place to be. The staff is friendly and very helpful. We stayed in the Nizuc, ocean front room. The balcony is small and the room has a large jacuzzi in the corner of the room making it feel small. Bathroom is small and cleanliness is average. They offer between $500 to $1500 room credits depending on length of your stay. That is a bit of a scam if you want to use it for cigars, tequila, wine upgrades or jewelry. An example is that you can put $100 in credits towards one piece of jewelry, but that piece must cost over $120 and you have to pay a 16% tax on top of that. If you go to downtown Cancun or even at the airport, you will be able to purchase it for less. If you want to make the best of those credits, put them toward activities such as golf, swim with the dolphins or the spa services. The spa was excellent! Read less

My family arrived at this resort on April 06,2014. To us this resort had great restaurants and great service. We were very disappointed in the scam to get people to buy a time share, we never... Read more expected to spend our holiday sitting at a desk for hours. Then to be left to fend for ourselves after we declined buying a timeshare with the resort. It would have been nice to be informed that there was some major construction going on at the time of our stay. We paid for a relaxing holiday, but soon found out that the section of rooms right in front of our rooms were under construction. There was lots of debris and constant action from the workers removing the garbage from the rooms . When it came to booking the spa for myself and my daughters we again wasted an hour to complete this process Wow really!!! Is this not what the resort specializes in. The first 2 days were wonderful when it came to servicing our room. Then it went down hill, we had to call every day to have our bar stocked and have toiletry supplied, As an all inclusive resort we did not expect to have to deal with this stuff on our own. The purpose of this holiday was to celebrate several occasions. Both of our girls celebrated their birthdays and the oldest one graduates this year. Even after being asked the purpose of our stay didn't seem to affect the resort and how they treated our stay. when it came to the hotel credits, we were lead to believe that there was a lot that we could have applied them to, but when we went to use them we were informed that the excursions were not included in these credits. We were left with approx 2,000 hotel credits. In our opinion the highlight of our trip was the dolphins, zip lining, wave runners but again 2 of these were not covered under the credits. We would highly recommend the Pirate show (Jolly Roger) It was fantastic a must for everyone to see. Read less
