Visited 12/10-16/14. Amazing resort with so much to do, great food to eat, and over-the-top service, that no way will you be bored!! So many options, in the various areas of the resort, that we... Read more didn't even notice the weather wasn't the best that week! I had heard so many bad things about the beach, I expected something so much worse that was there. I found the beach one I could enjoy, even though I probably wouldn't want to go swimming, even if the weather was good; however, the free shuttle to Beach Palace takes care of that desire! Beautiful beach, incredibly beautiful water, and provides that beach scene everybody wants! In the meantime, try the Brazilian Restaurant, one of the Italian restaurants, the Asian, Mexican, numerous buffets, or well any of the 15 available! Try the Flowrider, or just enjoy watching the attempts by others! Entertaining, and visit Huge the bartender while watching for a great tequila and tonic! Drop the teens at the teen club with gaming, arcade, disco, snacks, tvs, and more! Take the little ones to the Playhouse with a mini-spa for girls with a runway and accessories! The boys will love the carts, and all enjoy the balls, carousel, movie theatre and so much more! Kids will love this resort! For yourself, after 5, head up to the Sky Bar in the Sunrise section for a molecular martini by Ivan. I will be thinking of those for a very long time to come!! With the free Wi-Fi, we stayed in communication with Skype with everyone at home as well as each other, although free phone calls to the US is a wonderful benefit staying at Palace Resorts! Fantastic spa and 27 hole golf course also keep you from getting bored! Incredibly huge conference center means you can hold your conventions here too! Enjoy!!! Read less
We spent the week of Dec 7th at the Moon Palace Resort in Cancun. We had a combination business trip and vacation. We enjoyed both aspects of our stay. The business meetings were held upstairs... Read more from the Sunrise Lobby. Service was outstanding~! Wifi signal was strong throughout the property. The vacation leg was excellent. Very good service from just about everyone who worked there. Amazing how one of our servers at the pool area has been there for 17 years~! Another friend of ours is hosting their son's wedding in February and requested specific servers that they have gotten to know over the years. We also spent a day in Playa Del Carmen and visited the Palace resort there, which our wrist bands worked there. I encourage day trips to try out other Palace resorts (Cancun has (2), Playa, Cozumel, and Isla Mujares). I will go back~! Read less
Please season this review with a little salt as I'm not a huge fan of the big luxury all inclusive experience. The Moon Palace is located right on the beach and has three properties together that... Read more cover more room than you will probably cover in your stay. We stayed on an abbreviated vacation for a wedding of my brother-in-law. Thus much of my time was tied up in preparations before and we returned right after. Now Moon Palace has taken extraordinary efforts to make every aspect of their property top notch and I would say it is a success. The food was great, plentiful and to suit EVERY palate. I had really great time with their dolphin experience and I had a cool round of golf at there world- class Nicklaus designed golf course. I was free as I stayed for the 3 hours "presentation" of the membership program. They have terrific amenities. Wave rider, beach activities, wind surfing, boating, pools looked fantastic, Flow rider (man made wave machine). Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to really take advantage of much of them. I think this place would be a good place to take kids. I think they have a property that is more adult focused. Service was wonderful; everyone trying to cater to our needs everywhere we went. The only downside I had was the presentation that everyone is pushing for newcomers to take and in the Sunrise lobby there was a pungent smell that was repulsive to me. I mentioned it in the presentation and they called it aromatherapy. It didn't seem to bother anyone else, but I avoided the lobby of Sunrise. Oh yes and they give you hotel credits to enjoy some of the amenities free of charge (except for the tax). The rooms are very well appointed, but crowded with the Jacuzzi tub. There just didn't seem to be room to put our things anywhere (like our luggage). Plus there weren't enough outlet! That is a peeve of mine. I would come back, but wouldn't sit through a presentation. Too much time. Read less
Visited 12/6-12/13 with 6 adults and 7 children ages 18m-6y. For what we wanted, this place absolutely delivered! Total relaxation, immaculate property from the rooms to the pool to the grounds... Read more . Food was good, plentiful, and a nice variety was offered. The kids loved the kids club, and we felt comfortable with them there. I did not expect to do the amount of walking that we did, thank god we brought our stroller! It was good to walk, but at times was a little much for our 4 year old. This was my first visit to an all-inclusive, and I was pleasantly surprised. This place is massive, but plenty to do and see, and just cant say enough positive things about this place. We all felt this way and felt we really got our money's worth! Read less
Just returned from my 5th visit to Moon Palace. We stayed for 3 weeks at the Moon Grand on our honeymoon and it was fab. I love this place. I've been coming here since 2000 and it's changed in that... Read more time beyond recognition. I used to prefer Nizuc but now am more happy in the quieter Grand. It's true what other reviews say - it's the staff that make this place. Don't get me wrong the hotel is fabulous, especially with the new makeover, but the staff make it that bit more special. Always replying with ' it's a pleasure' when you ask for anything. The rooms are much bigger in the grand but the service is just the same no matter where you stay. We tried the Brazilian restaurant this time and were impressed. Never been anywhere quite like it. A real treat for Carnivores. They will have completed the renovations in Sunrise and Nizuc by the end of December and I'm told they'll be renovating the Grand before they continue on with the new build extensions at the Grand which will make it absolutely huge. With a hotel this size there is always got to be maintenance to be done so don't be surprised to see workmen hard at it. Used the free bus into town twice for shopping. A real bonus. Didn't like the Changes that had been made to the Nizuc coffee bar - it used to be a lovely little retreat but it's much smaller and with less seating it's not a place you can sink into after your evening meal anymore. Shame. Other than that we liked everything else. Not so good - There's a rather nasty smell in front of the chapel ( if you're going to have nasty smell then that's the best place to have it ! ) which appears to be a drain issue and needs to be sorted , plus the new floor surface at the Nizuc pool area needs attention - you can't see the edge of the steps after dark - try painting a white line on the edge of the steps before someone has a nasty accident. Good - Alfredo and Enrique at the Olympic pool area are great. Kept us amused all day long with their games and jokes. Also Yesmin Cab at the Olympic pool deserves a mention - she kept our drinks topped up the whole 3 weeks. Wonderful people. They are a credit to your resort . I've tried other hotels but always wish I'd come here when I do. There's something about this place that's addictive. The food, the service, the staff. All of the above. It's not the ritz so don't expect it to be. if you look hard enough at anything in life you'll find fault but without a doubt this is my favourite hotel in the whole world. Any issues all you have to do is speak up. There's loads to do or not as you wish. No pressure either way. If you come here and don't like it then it's your own fault. Read less
