TripAdvisor Traveller Rating:
Stayed at the Nuzic section of the Moon Palace and WOW what a place to stay. On arrival we were greeted at reception with a wet face wipe and flower. The check in was very quick and the bell boy... Read more brought our bags along to our room. We did not expect the quality of the room which was outstanding. Everything you needed from the king size bed, spa ,large tv,mini fridge with optics, bath robes and slippers.,you name it ,,it was there. Each night the cleaner would turn the bed sheet over a leave a chocolate for us both. For our 30th anniversary we were suprised to have a bottle of bubbly and a cake sent to our room. The room view was fantastic, looking out to the sea and the sunrise each morning. The gardens are immaculate and they are out every morning doing something to keep the area spotlessly clean. The pools are also great with plenty of sunbeds available. We never had a issue finding a sunbed. Towels are provided at the pool area. You will not go hungry here. There is so much choice both in the main restaurants or at the various out door food bars. Similary drinks are to a very high standard and great selection. We used our credits to swim with the dolphins ,sauna massage and various other things during our stay. This was all so easy to book in the main lobby area. Throughout the holiday we experience a very high standard of service and care from all the staff at the Moon Palace and could not find any faults at all. Perhaps the beach has some seaweed , but so does the beach back here just outside of Brighton. For those who seem to think the Moon Palace has a problem with seaweed they have probably not been to many very nice resorts that dont have crystal clear waters. All i can say is the beach was fine. We even did turtle release during the stay.and spent many hours sunbathing on the provided sun beds. The entertainment was great too. The fire show and Micheal Jackson tribute was fantastic. The daytime entertainment is also very amusing. Well , all i can say is a very big thank you to the Moon Palace and its staff for providing us with a holiday to remember. Special thanks to Rene in the Palace Vacation Planner area who sorted our tours to a very high standard..Special thanks also to both Mercedonia and Javier ,who treated us like royals in the Italian restuarant. Our first visit to Cancun and the Moon Palace was truly exceptional. We were a little nervous but that quickly changed to sure pleasure. Check in was handled quickly with no problems. We had a... Read more great beach view and I highly recommend the little bit extra in order to enjoy the amazing sunrise. Our 8 days were the most relaxing trip we ever had. Great service, friendly staff that continually went above the call of duty. Although I ate way to much there was not a bad meal. Highly recommend you pack a pair of slacks for men so you can enjoy the Mayan restaurant at the golf course. Not only will you enjoy a great meal, the service is amazing. Be sure to ask for the Mayan coffee. Jorge Vargas is a master in the presentation, preparation and we can't wait to go back to enjoy his laugh. Thank Jorge for making my wife's birthday extra special. The Moon Palace is very deserving of the high ratings, book your trip and see for yourself. You won't be disappointed Read less
We spent a week at Moon Palace with our 2 sons (9 and 12). We booked a family room which was actually 2 regular rooms with an adjoining door. Our room had a king size bed and the boy's room had 2... Read more double beds. I was thrilled with this set up! The boys had an Xbox 360 in their room which was a big hit since we don't have one at home. (Tip: check out games from your local library) Check In: We arrived before 11am. We were taken to a ballroom and checked in. There were finger foods and drinks to enjoy. We were told that our room would not be ready until 3pm. A gentleman sat us down to go over the resort credit. He tried to get us to sign up for the timeshare presentation. We declined. He tried. We declined. He tried. We declined. He left and didn't come back. It took about 20 minutes of sitting there alone before it sunk in that he wasn't coming back. We spent some time looking around, ate lunch and then returned for our key. This is a HUGE resort! It was probably at capacity when we were there. The towel game was alive and well. Hubby usually had to stake out chairs by 6am to ensure shade. Luckily, we were in the mango building which was close to the flow rider, bar, snack bar and restaurant. Caesar was our pool side server and he was AWESOME! He took excellent care of us and always had a smile on his face. The food was fine. We ate at buffets and some of the restaurants. The Asian restaurant was a bit disappointing. The service was very, very slow. The appetizers were tasty, but the portions were smallish. My sons and I had fried rice and the proteins were very skimpy. I get more shrimp from the takeout places at home. The Brazilian restaurant was so so. We waited almost 2 hours for a table. The meats were circulated very slowly and the side dishes weren't anything fantastic. My younger son commented that if he had known what the food would be like, he wouldn't have wanted to wait 2 hours. The Italian restaurant is beautiful and the food was delicious! We actually did a wine tasting there and that encouraged us to come back for dinner. We did the chef dinner. It was nice, but if you are looking for an intimate experience, this isn't it. It is held in a huge ballroom. There were so many people that were treating it as if they were in a restaurant having dinner as opposed to viewing a presentation. Hubby and I did the mani/pedi/back massage. I did not like the fact that these services are not done at the spa. It was very busy and felt crowded and UNspa-like. A very nice young man did get me beer while I got my pedicure. I also had a massage at the spa in the Grand section. It was HEAVEN! Grand is a hidden gem at Moon. If our kids were not with us, I would have gladly stayed there for our whole trip. The restaurant had great service and delicious food. I didn't want to leave Grand. The best part of the trip was taking our sons to swim with the dolphins. We used resort credits which also enabled us to purchase photos at a discount. The pictures were still pricey, but worth it to capture these amazing memories. Not sure that I would come back, unless it were to stay at Grand. Just too massive for my taste. Palace has many other properties that I enjoy more. Read less
