I've been back home from Cancun for 5 days now and really miss it! Once again, Moon Palace exceeded my expectations! The staff was AMAZING and Bela Duka, the pianist we saw at the Caribbean... Read more restaurant was OUTSTANDING! I even bought his CD. Eating at the restaurant that night with him playing the piano was one of the highlights of our trip. If you've never been to this resort, I'd highly recommend it, especially if you're going for a full week. The resort has something to offer for everyone and is large enough to ensure that you won't get bored. Even though there were a lot of people the week of Thanksgiving, the staff was extremely accommodating and we never had to wait for anything. The resort even threw a Thanksgiving Dinner which totally shocked my family and me. That was cool! So, definitely check out this place sometime. I know I'll be back, hopefully sooner rather than later. Read less
All inclusive Moon Palace in one of the best travel values available in the Cancun area. The service is excellent, the food is varied and every visitor has access to almost all of the amenities. We... Read more try to spend at least one week per year at the Moon and often two. Our married children have tried other resorts and have not found a better experience. Our latest visit was in early November with another couple. They were talking about their next visit before we left. We highly recommend the Moon Palace to anyone who will listen. Read less
Our reason for staying at The Grand section of this Palace Resorts was to attend a wedding - the Bride and Groom had done a lot of research on accommodations and decided this "group" of resorts would... Read more appeal to the diverse group of people attending the event The complex is +- 15 minutes from the airport which is terrific both on arrival and departure - access is controlled or gated and there is an attendant monitoring the comings and goings - once inside this HUGE area, there are basically three resorts in the complex - all of them have Gulf of Mexico shoreline although the sand is a powder type not the granular feet exfoliating type - The Moon Palace Grand, Nizuc and Sunrise with 3 different atmospheres - Sunrise has a real energy and fun feel and there certainly are lots of children enjoying the water activities, the swings and climbers - the lobby is spacious and beautiful - Nizuc also has activities happening around the pool but it seems a little more calm - The Grand has wonderful pool areas and a calmer feel great for those who just want to have game of water volleyball or sit with a drink and read There is a lobby to lobby bus (although it is a full sized motor coach) service and a wonderful boardwalk which means getting from The Grand (at the south end) to Sunrise (at the north end) is easy - there is also a bus which goes to the other Palace resorts in Cancun The staff at The Grand are exemplary - imagine being at the breakfast buffet, putting food on your plate, turning around to go back to your table and one of the wait staff wanting to carry the plate for you! 5 star for sure! Although I did not personally golf at the on-site course, people in the group did - as there had been many day of torrential rain prior to our arrival, the course was a bit sloppy and it took 6 hours to complete the round of 18 holes - yikes! The tour to the Mayan ruins at Tulum arranged by the on-site vacation planners and paid for with resort credits (other than the taxes) was a jaw dropping experience - with the wedding events, it was the only trip which could fit our schedule - it leaves at 8 and returns at 2 (OK we didn't get back until 3:20 but that was fine because it meant more time to experience the Mayan culture The rooms in The Grand are HUGE but more importantly, the outdoor space has 2 chairs, a table and a queen size lounger - lots of TV channels but not a lot for non-Spanish speaking people - the CNN channel (in English) is from Hong Kong There are outdoor eating options at all three complexes but the BBQ at Nizuc was probably my favourite - The hotel shop at Sunrise has lots to offer from fine jewelry to Mexican coffee and vanilla, the shop at Nizuc at little less variety and at The Grand it is very limited - basically some snacks, hats and beach cover-ups but remember they are still expanding. There is an opportunity to become "a member" and I met 2 couples (one from Canada and one from the UK) who have been members for years and just this trip were adding days to their portfolio - I did not attend the information session and was only asked on one occasion if I was interested If I had a criticism it would be that the cleaning staff are a little stingy with the soap - I'm sure if I had called down, there would have been someone who brought some to us but it seemed frivolous as I had some in my bag If I were vacationing in this part of Mexico, I would not hesitate to book at Moon Palace Read less

We stayed at the Moon Palace from Nov 14-16 2013. My fiance ( He proposed at the La Taco) When we first arrived to the Nizuk lobby we were finding it stressful to be there due to the construction... Read more .. Power tools and workers running around everywhere.. normally this wouldn't bother us ,But my Fiance has been working 20 hours a day and needed to relax. We requested to be moved to the Sunrise side. but there were no rooms. We spent the night and took buses around the complex to see what was there.. We have been to Cancun several times and we decided we preferred a smaller resort that you did not have to plan everything you did out of your room. We then asked to be transferred to the Beach Palace or Sun Palace. The clerk said no rooms at either.. I could clearly get on my smart phone and see there were rooms available at the Beach Palace. When setting up our excursion and spa massages, using our 1500 in resort credits, We agreed to see their Vacation Ownership Program . ( I'm the queen of timeshare presentations I CAN SAY NO : ) At the cost of loosing one of our sunny days, we did buy into their program.after 5 hours of negotiation. We did get a great deal! and SHAZAM they had rooms at the Beach Palace. So off we went for the rest of our weeks vacation. The things that you get at the Moon Palace that were awesome.. Unbeatable food! Great presentation of Mayan Coffee . also excellent entertainment at pools and night club .Now a bit about the Beach Palace. when we arrived ($35 cab ride) We were checking in and the clerk began to give us the same wrist bands ( Expedia booked ) I asked since we were now Palace Elite members did we get members bands? He said probably not until our next visit but he would ask.. He came back saying.instead of giving us the room looking at a wall we would now have a Ocean Front King room!!! Loved the room!! Loved the resort!! We then needed to have our $1500 in resort credits transferred and re schedule our spa and excursion. the ONLY staff person who wasn't nice was the lady at the Lobby Concierge desk, everyone else was fabulous.Definitely want to commend LUIS ALFONSO BROULIO at the pool bar who gave us the most amazing service!! We did feel the food and Entertainment was better at the Moon Palace.but we preferred being in the Hotel Zone If anyone has any questions feel free to email me! Read less
