Read more Our family of 5 stayed in a Presidential Suite in the sunrise section August 4th - 14th of this year .... and let me just say we were blown away. It started at our arrival, where my daughters and wife received flowers from the bellboys, and continued as we entered the beautifully appointed 2 bedroom suite, as well as the rest of our stay ....( not to mention the staff at Bugambilias, who made my wife fresh guacamole after they had run out, because she wanted chips and guac while we were drinking in the lobby bar @ 10:30 at night ).The selection of restaurants is amazing, the food and drinks are great, the staff exceptional ....... yes, EXCEPTIONAL, all the staff, everyone we encountered from wait staff, to bartenders, to the maids, all had a smile on their face, and made an effort to make you feel welcomed. Despite being almost at capacity, and very busy, the waits for restaurants were minimal almost the entire stay ....... A couple of tips: (1) get to the restaurants early (2)make sure you try every one, because they are all very different experiences, and (3)make reservations for the restaurants that require them when you first arrive. Los Caporales, MoMo, La Trattoria, El Caribeno, La Gondola all excellent ...... our favourites. Too many wonderful wait staff to mention, just in case I forget any. Did I mention the staff is exceptional????? The selection is so great, and the activities so varied at Moon Palace, we literally only left the property twice in our 11 days there. The resort is spotless, and very well maintained ...... most sections have been updated recently, or are currently being renovated, but construction was never an issue. Even the beach, which has the seaweed issues, is well maintained .... the sand is a powdery white that is cool to the touch, perfect for playing beach volleyball or soccer, or just for hanging out at the bar or lounging in the chairs on the beach. We truly enjoyed our vacation here .... this was our first trip, but it definitely won't be our last !!! Read less
It was event better than the first time. I stayed there 10 days this time and LOVED IT! This time got a chance to visit and have dinner at the Nizuc section and it was great! The did a great job with... Read more the reno. The Brazilian restaurant which serves all the meat you can eat was really good. The outdoor area was great for the kids. Next visit I will stay on the Sunrise or Nizuc side. I can't wait. P.S., The beach is really not swimmable but I'm ok with that cause there's plenty of pools for all and they're not crowded. The property is so big that it does't feel crowded when fully occupied. Read less

Read more I have just returned from The Moon palace yesterday... So still in Mexico mode. Now before I left I was reading reviews on trip advisor and was thinking what the hell !!!!! I thought what is this place we have booked? Have I made a wrong move!!!! Well how wrong was I ........DO NOT listen to bad reviews on here.... On arriving I was hot, bothered, and tired greeted by smiling staff with a cold towel and a drink...I was staying in the Grand section I add.... Checked in fine, all good,no long winded stuff.. If you wanted to go sunrise there was a coach always on time as well to take you there... I honestly think this place was amazing it's beautiful it's lovely and loads going on.. I loved my section in the grand block 87 I will say like most people on here the seaweed is a big big problem... They try and clear it everyday but it's nature...The beach is lovely soft sand but the sea is full of seaweed..SO they put on a free bus service to The beach palace in Cancun where the sea is gourgous so do make the free bus ride to the beach palace or if you want adults only then you can also go the the sun palace......where u can eat and drink free cause your part of moon palace... But there are loads of pools to choose from in the moon.... Ok I'm going to say extra thank you to some staff here who where truly lovely.. Los Tacos ALL of the staff loved them all the guy who serves round the pool great guy xx And the lovely lady's as well xx Front desk..Romi Grand section. After a hideously long wait at the airport, a 10 minute journey and we arrived at the moon grand. The open aired reception at the grand side has a totally different feel to the rest of the resort... Read more – very tropical – I really liked it and it would be a shame after they finish the development to lose that feel. We spent a week at the grand for our wedding and from the moment we arrived we felt like we were home and we didn’t want to leave. The staff were amazing – because we were getting married they gave us an upgrade to a suite which we didn’t quite realise at check in and thought we had been shown to the wrong room! The room was out of this world – bar, dining table, lounge, Jacuzzi (which every room has) the biggest bed I have ever seen, optics, mini bar and a massive bathroom and walk in wardrobe! Not to mention the double ground floor balcony – just view of the trees but it was lovely and private! We felt very spoilt! Especially when they came round at 5pm every day to give us petit fours! Amazing! The general feel of the grand side of the resort is a relaxed one – there isn’t much to do in comparison to the other 2 sections but that’s how we liked it during the day – nice and quiet! The grounds throughout are immaculate and there are always groundkeepers hard at work and stopping to say hola when you walk by! All the staff are so friendly and polite – you get treated like royalty at the MP! Big shout out to Crystal who works at the Los Tacos pool – she always worked very hard and kept our drinks flowing. The wildlife on the resort is crazy – the iguanas are everywhere and are very entertaining! They even have a resident Crocodile at the grand pool! Oh by the way – the grounds are so extensive that it took 6 days to stumble across the main pool at the grand – we didn’t even know it was there! The other 2 sections Nizuc and Sunrise, both within walking distance but we often jumped on the free coach which took us to their lobby areas –it was like having a night out! Both the Nizuc and sunrise Lobbies have the Las Vegas feel to them – very luxurious, very busy. There are a lot more to do in these parts of the hotel – we didn’t even get round to going to the English pub, but there are coffee shops/bars and a nightclub all part of the all-inclusive! We ate in most of the restaurants on the resort but our favourite has to be Momo. Great atmosphere and the food was so good! The service and selection of food in the restaurants for breakfast and lunch (buffet restaurants) was just fab – they even take your plate off you and walk it over to the table for you and pull out your chair! We were a group of 10 for most of the week and never had a problem getting seated at the restaurants. My veggie friend never had a problem choosing something to eat – everything was always fresh and we never went hungry! There is a free shuttle twice a day to the sister hotels so if you want to go shopping then jump off at the beach palace stop – worth spending an afternoon there if you love the beach – the moon palace did have too much seaweed to be swimmable in May (I’m a beach person, but the pools were so extensive it didn’t bother us) but clear blue waters at the beach palace was worth the visit! The wedding – as most moon palace brides will know that the planning part of the wedding isn’t the greatest and at times you feel downtrodden and left feeling that you are fighting a losing battle! Please let me put your fears aside that once you are at the resort – the service is impeccable! Our wedding planner (who was based in the Nizuc section) was Joseline and she did everything possible to make our day run smoothly! It rained quite bad an hour before our beach ceremony and she worked really hard to make sure plan B was in place and that we were both still happy! The Spa was a bit out of the way and you had to wait for a van to take you there as it was too far to walk from the grand but well worth a visit – we didn’t do the hydrotherapy circuit but the massages were out of this world. Before we had even left the resort we were planning our next return trip. Moon palace is worth every single penny and I always rave about it to everyone. We even went on to a luxury ‘honeymoon resort’ on the Playa Mujeres side of cancun after and we decided we should have stayed at the MP – there is just no comparison! Read less
