The resort was ok. if you like a lot of activities this is the place for you. the food was not bad. what really annoyed me was the timeshare people at the hotel. I had to say no at least three times... Read more a day. once they even interrupted our breakfast and wanted to know why we didn't want the timeshare, they just kept pestering you. we tried not to get close to the lobby so we could doge them. also the water was green and murky had a lot of allege, not really what you want to see when you go to Riviera. I definitely will never stay at this resort again... Read less

Nothing really wrong with this resort, just several minor annoyances. Personally I wouldn't stay here again. Property The main lobby area is very nice looking with walkways over water, and cool... Read more looking pools and stuff. Very easy on the eyes. The property itself though is very large and if you are staying in one the buildings near the edge it is probably close to a 10 minute walk to where the pool, lobby, and all the restaurants are. The beach sand is nice, but they attempt to clean up the mile of seaweed with a tractor that does nothing but stomp it down, and the seaweed can be pretty smelly. The water in this area is not the blue-green stuff you seen in Cancun or Playa Del Carmen. Food The suppers we had were all right, but nothing amazing. A couple of restaurants had special outdoor decks you could eat on if you ordered a paid bottle of wine, but watch out because in addition to being very marked up they also charge you some sort of 15% corkage fee and a not terribly good exchange rate. Cibu was pretty good, Lemon Grass was all right, the French place definitely could have been better. Lunch was another story though, options are buffet and the Blue Ocean grill place. Buffet is what you'd expect although some stuff pretty poor. We had some pretty bad food at the ocean grill, and the menu overall had little that we really wanted. The wings were the only good thing we had there, as long as you like spicy. Pool One large pool right by the lobby/restaraunts for everyone, looks really nice but that's about it. For us it was colder than we would have liked, and if you can believe it there is not a single hot tub on the resort. They blasted terrible rave-type music here pretty much all throughout daylight hours which was pretty annoying. There were a lot of very young adults obviously there to party, which is fine but that's just the type of place it is I guess. We honestly didn't spend much time anywhere near the pool because it wasn't out type of thing. There is also another pool kind of hidden which I think is for the "preffered club", it was quiet and nicer here and with its own bar, but still the pool water just as cold. Rooms Meh. That's really all I could say, we didn't get the nicest room they had, but it definitely was pretty typical hotel room nothing too much to say about it. Maybe the better rooms are nicer, not sure. Ours was as far from the main area as you could be. A/C really wasn't as good as we would have liked, had trouble getting the room colder than 23 C. Location I wouldn't personally stay at any of the resorts in this area (Puerto Morelos) again. You're a long ways from Cancun or Playa Del Carmen, which means if you want to do anything at all (Golf, tours, adventure things, XCaret, etc.) You're looking at a longg ride and if it is shared transport there will probably be a lot of stops along the way and it is a taxi you're looking at around $50 a way. Those long transport rides really cut into you're vacation and resort time which is a huge minus for me. I also just think the ocean was a lot less pretty in this area than what you think of when you think Cancun. Service Almost always good or very good, and tips could definitely make a difference lots of the time. Still though I would say it was not quite up to par with some other places we've stayed. Stayed here for destination wedding event. After reading some of reviews was concerned about facility. We never stay at all inclusives, so had that concern too. We were pleasantly surprised. First... Read more , we stayed in the Preferred section, so maybe that level provided a better experience. The room was spacious, very clean and well appointed. The deck on oceanfront room had its own jacuzzi. The bathroom was large and shower very nice. The mini bar was well stocked and maintained that way daily, with 4 bottles water a day. The staff was great. Very friendly and provided a high level of service. This was everyone from beach to pool, rooms to restsurants. As to food, it was average at best, they have a no reservation policy which means on a crowded night you could wait 2 hours for a table. Not pleasant. And to wait for average food is not enjoyable. The beach was nice, sand nice, water not the azure color you expect. But a great walking stretch of beach. The adult pool is very nice, quiet and well taken care of. Drink serice great, cabanas nice. We took private cab to and from airport. Was a 20 min drive. We did this so that we would not have to be stopping at other hotels along the way, which is what happens with the hotel transfer. If you like all inclusives, you will like this place. Would we stay again, no, but glad we did this time for wedding. Read less

We stayed from 11/06/14 - 11/11/14 with two other couples. The resort itself was very beautiful, very large pool, very good places to hang out at the resort. The rooms were average, nice but nothing... Read more special. The entertainment staff was very good and friendly without being pushy. The food for an all inclusive was very good. The french was our favorite. We did the preferred club and it was nice to have an adult pool to hang out when we wanted some quiet. Do not go here for the beach, the water was very brown and not very inviting. Only two negative things. One, we booked an 80 minute massage that only lasted 50 minutes, and we were charged for the 80 minutes. I will be addressing this with AM resorts. The other being some very BADLY behaved wedding guests. Drunk and fighting females. The wifi also did not work on the last day. We took a wonderful snorkel with the sea turtles trip to Akumal and that was one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. Would I stay here again, probably not. I prefer a smaller resort. Just stayed at this resort this past week for a destination wedding. We had booked the preferred package which have us a few more perks. After we were checked in, we were sitting with a concierge... Read more type to find our about the resort, etc. She then tried to pitch us to sit in a sales presentation, and we would get free massages. I wanted no part of that. That is rude, and not how I want to spend my time. This resort caters to a 20-30ish set, a lot of partying going on. We had an ocean front room, which was nice. We walked out of our room straight to the beach. The beach is short, and there's lots of seaweed. The water is murky, not that turquoise water you see in cancun. The grounds are ok, and our room was fine. Our bathroom was filthy by the base of the toilet. Sort of gross. The food was the worst part of this trip. The buffets were lousy. We went into lemongrass for hibachi, and that was also pretty bad. They had a fun night club and evening activities if one chooses to partake. The wedding was beautiful, they did a lovely job, but the food is the food. The resort is isolated, so you are stuck there unless you do an excursion. I would not recommend this all inclusive property if you are a foodie. If you do choose this property, bring lots of singles. The help does appreciate tips and they do work hard. I would not stay here again. Read less
