TripAdvisor Traveller Rating:
This is our first visit to Mexico and the first all inclusive trip From the moment we stepped out of the Taxi and were greeted with a cold towel and a welcome home from the bell hops it really did... Read more feel like home. We had booked the preferred club package so were taken straight to the lounge to check in where as soon as we sat down we were offered a cold drink. The sea view room is fantastic in block four near the beach bar. The Beach bar staff like all the staff on the resort are amazing. We even get bar service sitting on our patio. Not being cocktail experts We often just say surprise us and they always come up with something different. They are the friendliest happy to be at work staff you will ever meet. There is also an adult only pool where we reserved the Bali beds where the staff are also fantastic You only have to raise your head and someone is there to offer you a drink. The main pool and swim up bar looked fantastic but we preferred the quieter pool and the beach. The food range and quality is first class Our favourite was the French Paramour restaurant where the steak is fantastic The Mexican was great and if you are prepared to have a bit of fun with the waiters they will have you drinking Tequila the proper way wearing a big Mexican hat. If you just want a quiet meal that is what you will get Even the buffet is fantastic and changes daily Rafael in the preferred lounge would easily fit into any top hotel in the world. Nothing is to much trouble for him, We don't think he knows how to say no to your requests The only slight down side that affects all the resorts on this stretch is the sea weed although it seems to be a lot less today. They do have a team constantly clearing it who like everyone else here do a great job The whole resort is spotless well maintained and a great place to be Will we come again? Let's just say we will start saving as soon as we get back. We have never stayed somewhere where ALL the staff have been so outstanding Last year we stayed at the Venetian in Las Vegas which is luxury but non of the staff ever bothered to learn your name or remember what drinks you liked. Here we are greeted by our names by almost everyone A big thank you to all We really will feel like we are back home when we come again Read less
We just got back from a 14night stay at Now Sapphire Only 20-25min from the airport, which was perfect after our 11hr flight. Greeted by cold towels and a blue drink. We had a deluxe tropical... Read more room, with a cot provided by the hotel for our 21month old son We arrived around 8pm, so we ordered in room service that night, which was fairly quick and reasonably tasty Rooms - good size, with usual amenities, bathrobes, hairdryer, iron, ironing board, mini bar with soft drinks, water and corona which is replenished daily The don't have conditioner, so ladies, you may want to pack some We had the deluxe tropical view, which was very tropical which lots of trees and bushes on the balcony which made it very dark. We had a leak twice in the room from the sink, so as a result they upgraded us to preferred (which meant we had access to the lounge, Cibu for breakfast, pillow selection and Bali beds by the pool), they also gave me a fish therapy which was ok Free wifi is available around the resort hotspots and in the rooms Food: Market Cafe - usually had breakfast and lunch here, which had a vast variety to cater for everyone's needs. The chefs work very hard here Blue water grill - Lunch was good, recommend the tacos and the burger was pretty good too We ate dinner here once, which was nice as by the sea front. Barefoot grill - pool side eatery, at the blue water grill or barefoot grill, which was great when our son was hungry as they were open from 12-4pm Usual burgers, hot dogs etc, paella was tasty too Lemongrass - ate there a few times, as they also had sushi as well as thai/Chinese Hibachi - excellent tepanyaki, Erick was great Cibu - we would occasionally eat breakfast here, not as much variety though but quieter We also ate dinner here twice, presentation was lovely. Coco cafe - it's like a mini Starbucks, so lovely to have as my son would always want to get his milk from there Variety of pastries too No booking is required at any of the restaurants, except hibachi You just otherwise turn up and if there is a wait, you're handed a pager and wait around the lobby for a drink. Usually called wishing 45 min We couldn't eat at Paramour, French restaurant as adults only which was a shame Pool/Beach Pool is great, we also spent time around the kiddies pool. The main pool is very lively with music all the time, so we used to go to the beach after lunch for some quiet time Beach is nice, they work very hard to try and clear the seaweed but it seems to be a losing battle, nevertheless it didn't ruin the experience for us Both pool and beach have bars with free flowing drinks being served to you by waiters and waitresses Kids - there is lots to do for kids, unfortunately our son couldn't go to the explorers club as its 3 plus. But they seem well looked after Cinema at night looked great Entertainment - during the day there was lots happening, Spanish lessons, Zumba, kayaking tour, aqua aerobics, volleyball, bingo, cocktail making lots on every evening too,Caribbean and fire show were very good. They even have a night club, eclipse We loved it, only thing we would say would be that the rooms could do with some updating, as they're dated, which is a shame as the resort is lovely Luckily we didn't have to spend too much time in the rooms Special thanks to: Nancy, who was front of house at market cafe, who our son took a liking too, he still says your name and he misses you Leslie too who was front of house, always greeted us with a smile and was very helpful Jorge, who would attend to us straight away in the evenings and bring us a high chair and yoghurt for our son Marion, Miguel 2 (chocolate), Luis - great entertainment from you guys, thanks for the Spanish lessons and Zumba Antonio - at splash pool bar and beach bar Omelette ladies in market cafe and Cibu Rebecca and Karen at coco cafe, always served us with a smile Sergio at market cafe who served us at breakfast and lunch Omar at preferred lounge, who was very efficient Consuela and Camen - waitress at pool and beach bar, always had a smile and would go out of their way Abel - pool concierge, always happy Samuel - from the photography team who took some wonderful professional photos Also, all the chefs who work behind the scenes for the wonderful food and the maintenance people who keep the grounds well kept Keep it up B, Vj and Jaiden Read less
All-inclusive done well! This was a multi-family friends trip, so we were a mixed large group, and all felt catered to. There were plenty of kid/family activities and shows, while still having... Read more adult areas/events to allow adults to be on their own. Nice, multiple, pool areas, including an adults only secluded pool if you are part of the preferred package. The food was generally good, and the service was impeccable. Everyone there works their butt off to make sure you are enjoying yourself. Everything is clean and updated, and pride in the resort is evident. The only knock I had was the beach. The sand was great, but the seaweed build-up was extreme. It is completely out of the control of the resort, so this would not impact my feelings in coming back. They said it is out of the norm, so hopefully it would not be the case if we do a return trip. On a side note, they had employees working on cleaning it up all day every day, so the issue was not overlooked. Lastly, the beds were great. Mattresses seemed like they must be newer, and high quality. Overall, we had a great time, and I would highly recommend this for a medium sized resort with a full boat of amenities. Read less
Perfectly sized resort that is not too large. Beautifully mature landscaping and very nice beach area that never seemed too crowded. Rooms were great with very comfortable beds, Jacuzzi tub on the... Read more balcony and large shower with upscale toiletries. Our group had the preferred upgrade which was very nice. You can reserve beds and cabanas around the preferred pool which is quiet if you don't want the high energy and activities of the big pool. There are also many other features of the preferred package that really make a difference. Wi-fi was very good everywhere on the property and each room has its own sign on so I could stay connected whenever I needed to. Food was very good , Cibu ( Mediterranean) and Paramour (French) were excellent as was the level of service and the friendliness of the staff. throughout the resort. We are wine collectors ( not wine snobs) and the house wine offerings need improvement. We have been to several similar resorts in Cancun and the house wines were much better. The select wines in the restaurants were very well presented but extremely expensive vs. U.S. prices. We could well be in a minority concerning wine drinking in Mexico but I think they would sell a lot more if they made the prices more reasonable. The fairly small exercise room had good basic equipment with a great ocean view and was never crowded. Overall a great experience and we would definitely go back. Read less
