TripAdvisor Traveller Rating:
Overall, hotel needs a major improvement especially rooms. Food was terrible 2 years ago and still is. Service is very prompt and friendly. The best thing at the hotel is the Kids Club. My 4 year... Just stayed 4 nights at Sapphire and the resort is beautiful. The beach with itself powdery white sand is nice, but the water is colored brownish-green. Not like the pictures of turquoise that they... Read more show in their photos, more like Jersey or N.C. ocean water. This of course is not their fault but the photos are misleading, no snorkeling, and the sea weed is ever present although constantly being cleaned up. Staff was excellent, entertainment guys and gal at pool, Angel at pool bar, Filberto at lobby bar all displayed above and beyond attitudes. Food was fair in restaurants, room service quick and also fair. Ice machine was broken but ice was delivered quickly on request. Preferred pool and main pool very nice, room excellent, oceanfront with Jacuzzi on deck. Very nice time had by us on my first all-inclusive experience. Overall very nice place, just a beach not as pictured, and decent food, Hibachi grill the best of restaurants we tried. Read less

The pool area was nice and kept clean. The pool area entertainment and bar staff was fantastic. They made the days at the pool very enjoyable. I wish I could remember all their names but they all were great. I will give one shout out: "Hail Caesar"!! He was the bartender at the bar on the beach. He made us laugh, made us shots, and gave me a hangover. The main area to eat was the buffet. The food there was mediocre. I would like to have seen more seafood and more flavor. It is an open air room and hard to enjoy with sweat dripping off your face and body. I will rate the other restaurants, that are open in the evening, a little better. But all restaurants are not open every night. All the staff at the Now Sapphire treated us great and always had a smile. If the price is right , I would return. Read less
