TripAdvisor Traveller Rating:
We stayed at the Now Sapphire for our recent honeymoon and it was fabulous. Beautiful hotel, immaculately clean and first class service. I wouldn't bother upgrading to The Preferred Club as the... Read more rooms, food and service is already excellent. We had a tropical view room which was private and quiet, perfect! I did consider upgrading to a beach front room but, to be honest, I'm glad we didn't as there is NO privacy. I'd definitely recommend this hotel and we'll most certainly return in the future :) Read less
The hotel is located just north of Puerto Morelos, about 20 minutes from Cancun Airport. The property was well kept up and our "Preferred Club" room was clean and spacious. The beach was so-so and we... Read more never saw anyone in the water, a lot of sea weed washed up on the beach and was picked up continuously using a tractor ad rock picker. Wi-Fi was also intermittent. The restaurants offered a good variety of food and waiting to be seated was never a problem. The preferred club lounge was a nice place to stop for a light snack or a drink during the day. Chairs and beds around the preferred club pool had to be reserved a day in advance and were usually full. The swing bar on the beach at the south end of the resort was nice - the seats around the bar were all swings. Read less
My husband and I stayed at Now Sapphire the first week of December. We were there for a friend's wedding. We thoroughly enjoyed everything. Our room was huge and clean. The good was great... Read more , especially the Asian restaurant 'Lemongrass'. The entertainment crew was awesome! We really enjoyed Giovanni , we nicknamed him 'Tigerman', and Miguel'. The waitstaff was great. The only downside to this resort was that beach had a lot of seaweed and the water was murky , but the windy weather may have added to this. The beach itself was long and soft powder like sand. All in all it was a great week!! Read less
Wow! What a great experience!!! Five days of music, sun, and fun with an incredible staff!!! The resort was clean. The grounds were beautiful. The only reason I did not give it a perfect rating... Read more was the food at certain restaurants was just "meh" (Lemon Grass). The buffet was always fresh and a large variety to choose from. The rooms were above average and the beds so comfy. I did see alot of paint over bubbles on the walls. If the show will be there next year, we will be back. Wi-fi was spotty. Read less
My husband and I stayed at Now Sapphire between October 26 and November 1st. The resort was beautiful, food was very good, and the staff was wonderful. We stayed in an oceanfront first floor room... Read more , and loved the easy access to the beach, and even had drinks delivered to our terrace from the waiter on the beach. Check in went smoothly - our room wasn't ready when we arrived, but we only waited about one hour, and were happy to spend time at the lobby bar while waiting. Our room was very nice, clean, and large enough to be comfortable for the week. We didn't spend much time at the pool, however it looked and sounded like everyone had a great time in that area. We were very happy hanging out on the beach most days, and ate at the a la carte restaurants each evening. The breakfast buffet was good, bot quite as extensive as some resorts we have visited, but had enough that anyone should be able to find something. Each restaurant was very good, and we even had dinner near the pool one evening, the only catch to the special dinner was the purchase of a bottle of wine, which was not a big deal - bottles ranged from reasonably priced to very expensive. We did not opt to upgrade to the preferred club, and decided that it was wise not to. We did not see any amenities that the preferred option offered that would have been special for us. Also, not a note specifically about Sapphire, but, we had a flight cancellation, and stayed one night at the Now Jade, due to room availability, and after seeing both resorts, I believe that Sapphire is definitely a much nicer resort, smaller, with better beach access, better balconies / terraces, and a nicer overall layout. When returning to Mexico, I will definitely consider staying at the Sapphire again. Read less
