Read more This is the most beautiful hotel we have ever visited, from the start to the finish...we visited for a week in September to celebrate my 50th birthday, although the humidity was 100% it was astonishing. Firstly if you fly to Dubai with Emirates it sets you in the style of luxury for the rest of your holiday and I was luck y enough to betaken on the a380...anyhow, from the second you step onto the hotel pavement you are greeted by smiling staff who cannot do enough for you, they tag your bags and send them off to the reception area to await your room number. The reception although having agreat deal of desks available for check in are quite slow, we were but in a fantastic room with 5 different views, room10443 overlooks the sea, the ambassador aquarium, the water park the beach and the city. The rooms are gorgeous, plenty of space, lots of storage room and beautifully laid out, all toiletries are provided, moisturiser, bath salts, shower gel, luxury soap, face cloths, shampoos, conditioner s, body wash's, even slippers and a bath robe... There is a beautiful bath and a walk in shower with separate toilet, a safe a huge wardrobe, a dining area should you wish to use it, the safe is free to use you just put your own 4 digit code in, huge mirrors, a huge bed and a balcony with furniture on it. when we arrived we were left a bowl of fruit and bottled water in our room, there are tea and coffee facilities and everything you need coffee sachets teabags, hot chocolate, milk sugar... there is a mini bar but you need to let them swipe a credit card to gain access to it, and a small fridge for you to store your own drinks, there are cups and glasses a plenty in one of the drawers under the kettle there is also an ice bucket in each room amd an ice station on each florr which you are free to use, you need to locate it at the central division of corridors... the concierge are fantastic at advising how to get about and the room cleaningstaff cant do enough for you although they do tend to knock on your room door 2 or 3 times a day, so if you want privacy use the do not disturb button at your room entrance. There is full room service available with a brochure in your room you can ring down and they are extremely fast. the hotel is immaculate from the ceiling to the floor and there are hundreds of security staff at every point possible from the front door to the beach entrances of which there seems hundreds. The hotel is pretty much a maze of corridors and entrances to explore and every one is worth exploring. there are around 27 restaurant's and food/bars to entice you into and believe me it is a tough choice, but whichever you chose you won't be disappointed. the pool is fantastic with more life guards that you can count who swap around every 40 minutes or so, and just sit and watch the thoroughness in each change over its fascinating... the beach also is awesome again with lifeguards right across the beach and the aqua adventure park has more lifeguards than water I think...do try the lazy river its unbelievable. We had breakfast and evening meal during our stay and found it unnecessary to partake in the upgrade to the imperial club as we werent hungry until our evening meal, this gave us the rest of the day after breakfast(which again is fantastic) to go outand do what we wanted for the day. Breakfast is either in the Kaleidoscope restaurant or the Saffron restaurant both of which has every single type of food and drink you can think of, from 5minute, 7 minute, 9 minute boiled eggs to well, egg fried rice, waffles, fruit , cereals every type of hot and cold food imaginable. Most facilities open at ten, pool opens at 8am, shops in the lower groun dmalls mainly open at 10am, aquapark opens at ten and most other facilities, there are manyman y lavatories around the hotel complex and they are immaculate, all pool, beach and aquapark towels are free you juzt take what you need and throw them in a collection bin when you finish, if you decide to go back just get more towels as you enter each area, drinks are available around the pool to purchase or charge to you room, but do rember your room umber you are asked at every stageof your adventure which room you occupy. There is no theft at the hotel we inadvertantly put all our currency/notes both english a emirati in our safe when we went to the waterpark and forgot to close our safe, our room had been cleaned a bedding changed whe we got back and everything was untouched, bedding linen and towel and toiletry changes are done daily so if you use your shampoo it is instantly replaced for you. The hotel boasts the biggest aquarium probably in the world, and believe me it is huge..kept me quiet for ages every time I passed by... the lost chambers are fab too, there is only internet available to pay for unless you have skywards cards then it is free, you can keep tabs on your bill at all times on the enormous tv in your room. There is a 20dirham a day tax payable each at the start of your stay and you can see it deducted each day on your tv in the view your bill section, thats if you can stay in your room long enough to actually switch the tv on. I was luckyenough to be booked on a royal swim package with the dolphins whilst we we're there and it is an experience I will never ever forget, thanks to my lovely hubby, do be aware your photo is taken at every single opportunity and please ask the price before you buy as you can get just as good photos yourselves. There is plentyto see and do and a lot of activities, water sports, nightclubs, theme night's etc do chose carefully as there is so much to chose from, everything is oustanding. Please be aware although it is nothing to do with the hotel, the mono rail goes nowhere...it is 50 dirhams for a days return ticket and the monorail ends 3 stops later. ?.there are lots od cars waiting for you to step off the train to take you into town but THEY ARE NOTGENUINE EMIRATES TAXI's they will charge you a fortune to go a few hundred yards, only get into a taxi if it has a taxi sign on the top and an emirates taxi logo on the side, the taxi price from our hotel to the mall of the Emirates where the burjh khalifa is is only 55 to 60 dirhams. there is a free shuttle bus to all the malls from the front of the hotel and a bus timetable is a available at the concierge desk, the destinations are on the bus fronts but be aware there are a lot of people wanting to use these buses so you need to arrive early in the queue. All in all this is the best hotel we have stayed at with the nicest staff possible, and we would recommend it to anyone . Read less

Atlantis was a must-do on my list when visiting Dubai. Considering the price I've paid and how famous this hotel is, I was expecting a special luxury Hotel and felt like I can’t miss out the dolphins... Read more and the aquarium, but I couldn't have been more wrong, it was a huge disappointment. The hotel is too crowded and service is poor It started right when we arrived and stepped into the famous reception; it was crowded and loud and reminded me more of a train shed than a 5star hotel. Then I saw the queues at the reception and this was the point where I started to suspect how this stay is going to be. We were quite lucky and did not wait too long to check-in and the receptionist was very helpful. We got our room before 3pm and were allowed to stay in our room until 1pm the next day (guess because we were only staying one night and she wanted to make it worth for us, but however this was positive). While walking to our room my impression was reinforced; all the corridors were crowded and loud. Our room on the 10th floor was basic and worn but clean. I booked the half board option and because it was our last evening at Dubai we felt like trying a variety of foods and therefore chose Kaleidoscope, an international buffet restaurant. Thankfully the receptionist at check-in pointed out that we should make a reservation even for the buffet restaurants so i made a reservation for 8pm. When we arrived we were shocked; there was a huge queue and it would have probably took about 45min to get in the restaurant. Because of our reservation we only had to wait about 5min until someone guided us to our table. The restaurant itself lacks atmosphere and again it was very crowded and loud and the servants seem to be stressed and it took quiet long until someone brought our drinks. The quality of the food is ok and there is a large variety to choose from unfortunately not everything is kept hot enough. We went there again for breakfast at 7.30 the next day to avoid the crowds because you can‘t make a reservation for breakfast and fortunately there was no queue at this time. Sun beds around the pool are all tightly squeezed together and there is always some annoying music. There is no separate adult pool or a quiet place to relax. The hotel provides free shuttle busses to various malls, but be there at least 15min before departure otherwise you won’t get in because they are always full. The Aquarium and the Lost Chambers are stunning and the Waterpark is fun, but Atlantis tries to rinse money out of you all the time; you have to pay 9€ for the lockers and all snack bars etc. at the waterpark are extremely overpriced. As well as the photos they take of you at the waterpark and the dolphin encounter. I booked the Royal swim which was really expensive but i felt like it was worth it. Professional photographers take photos while you are in the water and you can buy those photos later; the cheapest option is the package on a flash drive which contains all photos of you for 500dirhams (110€). My boyfriend paid a visitors fee so he could accompany me to the dolphin encounter and take photos from the shore, so i didn’t buy the professional ones. Before check-out we called the bellman to pick up our luggage but after 45min and two more calls no one arrived, so we ended up dragging our luggage by ourselves. So all in all poor value for money, Atlantis is not a patch on other 5star hotels in Dubai. I can only recommend this hotel for a short stay if you have children, because they will love the waterpark and the aquariums. If you don’t have children don’t stay there at all. If you are interested to see the Hotel do it as a day trip, for example if you do the dolphin experience you’re allowed to visit the lost chambers and the waterpark as well. It’s not worth the money and there are sooooo many much better options in Dubai. I felt like I wasted my money and it really bothers me because I can think of so many awesome options in Dubai where I could have spent it instead. Read less
We stayed between 20 - 31st August 2014. This was our second holiday to Atlantis after a fab holiday there last year. We arrived on an overnight flight with Virgin from Heathrow. On arrival at the... Read more hotel at 8am we like everyone else who arrives before the official check in time found we had to wait for our room. This year we booked a Terrace Club Suite which was fab. I have posted pictures for you to see. The suite consisted of a large lounge and dining room, large bedroom which led through to a stunning bathroom and massive dressing room. Luckily we only had to wait a couple of hours to access our room but I certainly agree with other reviews on here that the beautiful lobby can resemble a refugee camp of guests waiting to be allocated their rooms !! This year we ate at the usual buffet restaurants Saffron and Kaleidoscope which provided a super all round standard of food and massive choice. We also ate at The Shore a couple of times, Rhondda Locatelli, Seafire Steakhouse all of which were fab meals. I also visited the Spa a couple of times. I had a treatment there last year and looked so forward to returning there this year. I can highly recommend the Jet Lag massage and also a reflexology massage- both amazing !! It is such a relaxing and tranquil spa. The waterpark is also a must with the new section which was being built last year now open. It's a really good waterpark for all ages to enjoy. Positive points: Wonderful staff in particular our housekeeper - Win. Hotel and pools very clean Food quality - superb Negative: Hotel was exceptionally busy this year compared to last. I fear that the hotel will become over run by Brits on tour in the next couple of years with the tour operators offering very good deals to Atlantis and therefore it's exclusivity will drop. Apart from that it was another wonderful stay and probably would visit again but will more likely look into one of the Jumeriah chain of hotels next time. Read less
