TripAdvisor Traveller Rating:
Stayed at the Atlantis for 11 nights over July/August. Travelled with wife and 2 young children. We stayed in the Imperial Club Rooms over in the east tower. Excellent choice. Airport pick up in S400... Read more Hybrid (nice!), which costs AED 350, which is not much more than the airport taxi which will come to around AED 100. Arrival - check-in was instant on the lounge floor. The 'economy' passengers in the standard rooms had a long wait i could see in the lobby. Led to room - which was very large and great views of the ocean. Clean and good amenities. Restaurants - we ate in the Kaleidoscope most nights as the children can try different foods from the buffet. The restaurant was very busy, but the management of the service and restaurant is 100% excellent. The waiters are great too and can't do enough for you. The lounge for the club rooms is super. Great place to chill out and have some snacks/drinks. The service is impeccable and Iftikar runs a good lounge. He's really a professional guy. Pools - Splashers is great fun. The Royal pool at the front is super and not that busy. It can accommodate a few hundred people easily! The lifeguard are very attentive and there are life jackets for children available. Overall, it was a wonderful stay. Best place to stay in my view. I hope the Atlantis hotel manager reads this as I want to make him aware of something! My son was allergic to many foods and the manner in which this was managed in the restaurants was nothing short of excellent. Over 11 days, there were so many great staff, but 2 people stood out for us and deserve a special mention.....both happen to be from Kaleidoscope. First is the restaurant manager; Khan. Exceptional guy. Cool and controls the floor very well. A great asset. And the other is Vineeth. Super chap. Always smiling and can't do enough for the diners. He's also another asset that will do very well. Thanks to all for a great stay. Read less
Just returned from a 5 night stay at the Atlantis yesterday and already looking to book up again, we are a young couple in our 20s and had the most amazing time. Arrived at 9am and went to check... Read more in where they advised us to come back at 1pm to check into our room as it states in many places that the official check in time is 3pm, so many people seem surprised that they can't get into their room straight away when they probably just haven't checked. Handed over our Skywards card which gave us free wifi, which literally worked well in every single part of the hotel. As we were prepared I packed swimwear, suncream and flip flops into our hand luggage, the bell boys directed us to our bags and showed us to a room where we could change. As we were checking out early on our final day we were able to use our breakfast voucher for our first day instead so went to Saffron (no queues) and had a lovely breakfast with anything you could possibly want to eat, full English, Indian food, Chinese noodles soup, breads and pastries, waffles and pancakes, sushi, fruit, cheese a sweet section and chocolate fountain! Water, juices, tea, coffee and hot chocolate are all included with your breakfast also. We then went straight to the amazing water park it was so easy to jump onto a buggy and get a wrist band no queues! Returned to reception again at 1:30pm (no queues) to be advised that we had been upgraded from a deluxe to an Ocean Deluxe, the bell boy came along with us and our cases to direct us to our room, we were on the East Wing floor 4 and our room was huge! It was located on the end of one of the wings which is why I think it was bigger than the standard rooms. We had a huge window overlooking the Sea and a Juliet balcony overlooking the front of the hotel, a HUGE walk in wardrobe with iron, ironing board, hair dryer and safe. Housekeeping were brilliant coming to service our room twice a day and leaving us plenty bottles of water. We were on a half board basis and ate in kaleidoscope our first night, when coming back from the water park we booked a table when passing so didn't have to queue, buffet style restaurant with so many different types of food including Indian, Mexican, Chinese, Thai, pizza, pasta, sushi.. The deserts were amazing! The following nights we ate at Saffron, an Asian style buffet which also served Sunday dinners etc. Ronda Locatelli which is an Italian a la carte restaurant, here we chose 3 courses from a menu the food was lovely. We treated ourselves to Seafire steakhouse on our final night what an amazing experience! Paid an extra 400 AED (£65.00) to eat here and it was definitely worth it. Wish we had more time here so we could've experienced Yuan and Nobu. For lunch we would go to Asia Republic, which is a small Asian restaurant which is less expensive with amazing food! Visited here twice and used our vouchers here once which entitled us to a starter, a main and a side or desert. We also tried Ronda Locatelli for lunch which has a lunchtime deal 12-5pm Pizza & Peroni for 100 AED (£16) if we had stayed here longer we would have had lunch here more often as the pizzas were yummy, if you only wanted a small lunch they were perfect for sharing. Tried one of the water park restaurants for lunch one day which was just like fast food and not very nice at all. Aqua venture the water park was amazing, just as good as the water parks in Florida we were here every day of hour stay and absolutely loved the lazy river with rapids, torrent and slides we would literally spend about 2 hours to get round the lazy river! We are a young couple who can't sit still for too long so the water park was a god send for us, hardly any queues for the rides and could always get a sun bed. We tried both pools and preferred the Royal Pool but the sun was gone by about 5pm which is when we would either return to the water park or go to the Zero Entry pool, we never had a problem getting a sun bed, don't know if we just visited at a quiet time? On a night we would go to Levantine outdoor bar and get Shisha and cocktails, so relaxed and amazing atmosphere. We went to BarZura one night after dinner for happy hour 11pm-12am and had gorgeous cocktails at 2 for 1 with complimentary olives and nuts, if we had stayed longer would have definitely spent more time here. Visited N'dulge on the Wednesday night with friends, take proof of age if your going here as we got asked, it was very quiet and was ladies night, all the tables said they were reserved although we stayed til the end and nobody ever sat at them? Bought a bottle of grey goose with mixers for 1600 AED (£260.00) asked to use my Skywards card but they said it wasn't allowed? There were a few women wondering around on their own and other dodgy looking women all over the men, bouncers did have their eye on them but as soon as my friend sat on her partners knee to get a photo was told to get off. Probably wouldn't return to N'dulge if we came back. Overall we had such an amazing holiday and can't wait to return, my tips would be: If arriving early morning pack swimwear, suncream and flip flops so your not waiting around while your waiting for your room Make reservations for tables! Even if you can't decide where you want to eat you can call at 5pm and book a table then to avoid waiting in any queues Sign up for an Emirates Skywards card for 15% off food & drinks and free wifi, make sure you carry this round with you and tell them before you receive your bill Buy a refillable cup from the water park for 80 AED (£13) and get refills for 8 AED (£1.30) we used this every day of our stay Try get the half board rate it is well worth the money even for the nicer restaurants, if we were to visit Nobu we would have paid around an extra £60 for both of us on top of our vouchers, my friend wasn't staying in the hotel and paid £180 to eat here! The queue for Kaleidoscope at breakfast which is located on the East of the hotel had huge queues every single morning whereas Saffron had either no queue or a 2 minute wait, they both serve the same food for breakfast if you want pork sausages and bacon they are tucked away in the corners Hire a Go Pro for the water park! The staff are stood at the entrance with them it's 200 AED (£32.00) to hire for the whole day and was so worth it, a waterproof camera that you strap onto your wrist which allows you to take about 2000 photos and hours of filming, you can take it through the lazy river and on every slide the quality is excellent so we've got some fab photos and videos that we've brought home with us on a memory card Flip flops for the water park as the floor is unbearably hot! A lot of the rides allow you to take them on with you or some people leave them at the bottom of the steps We bought 2 bottles of Moët for £50 out of Heathrow Airport and a box of 12 Corona for £12 out of the duty free in Dubai airport just after baggage collection to drink in the room, was a great idea for pre dinner drinks while getting ready as there was space to store them in mini bar and ice machines on each floor of the hotel Every member of staff we came across were brilliant so polite we received excellent service throughout our whole stay, so many different nationalities it was so interesting to chat with them. We visited in August and heard so many bad comments about the weather, we normally go to the Caribbean in August so are used to the heat it wasn't unbearable we spent most of our time in the water didn't really try much sunbathing but came home with a fab tan. So many people comment on the prices of drinks 50 AED for a large beer (£8) and 55 AED for a cocktail (£9) I didn't think this was too bad at all I've just returned from Ibiza where I was paying €18 for a vodka + mixer! A lot of people would take their bottled water down from their room to dinner which we never tried although I can see how the bill would add up if travelling with children. If you do your research on happy hours etc you won't spend as much money. The vouchers are a great idea as we ate out one night so the next day used our vouchers for lunch then dinner, our friends who were half board in another hotel didn't get vouchers and so if they wanted to spend a day out of the hotel they would miss out on their half board for that day. They also didn't have happy hours or the chance to use a Skywards card for 15% off so Atlantis is definitely the best option when staying in Dubai with or without kids, we had the best time!
