We stayed for two nights on the way to Australia. We arrived in mid evening. The distance from the airport was somewhat further than we thought, about a forty minute taxi ride. Lots of staff who... Read more immediately commandeered our luggage, handing us a ticket and we were told to give it in at check in so that the luggage could be sent to the room. There were four check in staff when we arrived, with very short queues, either one or two people at each. I was moved from one queue to another, four times in ten minutes, so I was getting a little frustrated with this. Eventually another lady arrived and checked us both in, upgrading us to an oceanview room on the top floor. The room was a delight, very big, well laid out, and one of the best we have had in all of our travels. One small problem, the water ran slowly, but apart from that we were very happy and found it extremely relaxing. As middle aged, we found two nights quite long enough. The resort is set at the far end of the Palms, and is difficult to get around easily from here to the rest of Dubai. However, for two nights, and one full day, we kept ourselves busy, in the morning, taking the monorail up and down the palms a look around the acquarium, and a few hours in the waterpark in the afternoon. Thank you, but for us, weve been there, done it and enjoyed it, but not to return too soon. Read less

Everything is close together and walkable, so it was nice to be able to, say, hit the waterslides for a few hours and then unwind on the beach. That admission to the water park and aquarium are included with the room is great; no pressure to spend a lot of time at either if you don't want to. We had a blast at the water park, which wasn't very crowded at all, so there was very little wait for the rides. All that said, there were several hiccups along the way that stemmed from poor communication by the staff. We were told at check-in that the buffet breakfast is included with the room; it's not, which turned out to be a $100 surprise. Also, the check-in woman asked if we wanted to put a "deposit" down. Baffled, we said no. Turns out what she meant to say was, did we want to put a credit card on account so we could charge things to the room. We didn't, which turned out to be a minor hassle. Finally, we called for a late check-out, since our flight wasn't until the early evening, and were told it wasn't possible--certainly a first for me! In sum, it was a fun weekend at a place that has it all. Try the seafood tower at the steakhouse, too--it's worth it for the presentation alone! Read less

Read more My wife and I stayed there in November for 1 night only... I must say this hotel has a wow factor. The room was not ready when we arrived (which I was expecting) but then we went to aquaventure water park - you are coming as a couple or with family (any age) you won't be disappointed. The entertainment is top notch...tubes on the river, dolphins, lion seals, aquariums...the list goes on. life guards are in abundance on every pool, slides beach and tube river ride.... all staff are friendly, helpful, and polite everyone we came in contact with were so accommodating. Our room was immaculate, clean with breath taking views. The only negative point is that - everything is extremely expensive and there is a cost for everything. Nothing comes for free. Not even wifi in the lobby. Read less
