Already a gem of a hotel, the Ritz-Carlton, Dubai is set to become even more spectacular with the opening of a brand new wing in spring 2013. As well as extra rooms and suites, all furnished to impeccably high standards, guests can enjoy two additional swimming pools, making a grand total of 5, including 2 exclusively for children (happily set in the shade!). Its existing Italian restaurant, already something of a local legend, will be redesigned completely and added to the list, a new Asian restaurant and a Mediterranean one too! All of this, plus Amaseena, their magical tented Bedouin village, set right beside the sea and serving traditional regional specialities, to be enjoyed whilst listening to the haunting background strains of the oud and the tabla. As all first-class hotels in Dubai do, this hotel overlooks its own stretch of beach, pristine white sands lapped gently by azure waters. A wonderful place to relax, topping up your tan perhaps, indulging in a variety of water sports or simply reading that book you’ve been wanting to for ages now, it’s about to get even better! Leaving no stone unturned, it’s been redesigned too, bringing you more shaded areas, more private nooks to call your own and unbeatable service from the The Gulf Pavilion and the new La Baie Lounge. All of this, plus an indulgent spa, exciting kids club and a great location, ensures a holiday you’ll remember forever!

Had a 4 night day in one a suite in the newly refurbished wing (the other wing is currently undergoing renovation and will be completed next year) We arrived very early circa 0800hrs from an... Read more overnight flight and were delighted to find that they had a suite ready. Check in was smooth and we were escorted to the room by the affable Charles. Our suite was on the second floor and didnt have a great view (higher floors are better) - Charles did kindly offer to see if he could find us a room on a higher floor but we were tired and declined. The room is very spacious with a large sitting room and twin balconies - all mod cons with good sound systems, pop up flat screen tv's, nice dressing up area between bedroom and bathroom. Bathrooms are spectacular with top end fittings and free standing slipper bath and a huge double rainwater shower - One of the best bathrooms we have ever had ! As only half the hotel is open as previously mentioned it is quiet which is nice as the busy JBR walk (a bit tacky really) is just outside the hotel. The hotel is dwarfed by the recent high rise buildings but having been built some time ago enjoys very very spacious grounds and good access to the busy beach. All staff make a big effort to be welcoming and we would certainly consider the hotel again on our next visit to Dubai. I have reviews the hotel restaurants separately Read less

My husband and I have just returned from a long weekend at the Ritz Carlton and there is no doubt whatsoever that we will stay there again on our next trip. We arrived on the late flight out of... Read more London and arranged for the hotel to send a car to collect us. We were out of the airport, transported to the hotel and checked in quickly and smoothly making the 1 am arrival no problem at all. The accommodation in the new wing is very spacious and well-appointed, we booked a Junior Suite with sea view (it was huge) and Club access. The Club Lounge is excellent and, we felt, well worth the additional charge. All of the staff were very attentive throughout our stay but do look out for Godfrey who was outstanding. The food was very well presented and the bar service very efficient. The pool areas, gardens and beach front and well maintained and again the staff really want to make you happy. Being on The Walk and within an easy stroll of the Marina makes the location great, there are not many hotels in Dubai which give you the ability to walk around the area - the Metro is also within walking distance and is a great alternative to taxis to get around and explore. Overall a little oasis of calm which has left us feeling refreshed and pampered. Read less
Had a nightmare pick-up from the airport, was driven by a rude wannabe racing car driver, who threw us (2 adults and 3 kid) around like we weren't in the car. Arrived at the hotel with no one to... Read more greet or help us to unload our luggage, the driver just stood and was look for a tip!!! The cheek!! Eventually got to the reception desk. I was shocked to be told that they like to pre-approve my credit card for some hotel spending, when they have already pre-approved AED 51,000 for the room for my entire stay. I was not very happy at this point and started thinking that i have made a big mistake by booking this hotel. What was worst, was the room was not ready for our occupation, i.e. was only made up for 2 people and not a family. Having said, the rest of our stay was amazing the staff were friendly and made us all very welcomed. Overall a very nice experience except for the first 2 hours of our arrival. Read less
