Things to see and do in Whistler

Eating out

Whistler’s pedestrian-friendly Village is like a snow globe come to life - a magical place to be by day or night. Surrounded by snowcapped peaks, stone walkways connect specialty shops and patios while public gathering spaces surrounded by twinkling lights draw musicians and performers. The Village offers something for everyone from the solo traveler to families - quaint bed and breakfasts and high-end hotels, coffee shops and art galleries, luxurious spas, entertainment for the kids, clubs for lively après and cozy lounges with roaring fires and tantalizing menus.

Not to be missed

For an adrenalin rush you may like to try your hand at zipping through the treetops on a zipline. Plus there is dog sledding, or for a more sedate pace, try snowshoeing, all in the surrounds of ancient cedar trees. An outdoor rink offers ice skating in the heart of the village. The PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola is another must, which provides great views while linking both mountains for a uniquely exciting experience.

Best for families

Dedicated learning centres and programs with the Whistler Kids Snow School, specially designed terrain gardens and family zones, an enchanted Tree Fort and Magic Castle ensure that any time is a good time for families to experience Whistler Blackcomb. Once the day’s on-mountain adventures are done, the village is packed with family-friendly activities. Restaurants and bars like the GLC, Merlin’s and Dusty’s Bar & BBQ welcome kids until 8pm and give everyone a chance to enjoy après. And for those with energy to spare, skate circles around one another at the outdoor skating rink at Olympic Plaza, and experience the thrill of the Coca-Cola® Tube Park. Look for the “Family Certified” icon in various locations throughout the resort to let you know that you are in a family-friendly zone.

Something different

When you want to take some time out from the slopes, explore the charming pedestrian village where there are more than 200 shops to explore. There’s no need to get a bus, it’s all right on your doorstep. For those who want some pamper time and to escape the chill or treat tired skier’s legs, get a relaxing facial or rejuvenating massage. There are among 20 spas, salons and therapeutic treatment services, all helping you rejuvenate.

Seeking adventure

2 mountains, joined by the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola, offer over 200 marked runs, over 8,000 acres of terrain, 16 alpine bowls, 3 glaciers and receives on average 462 inches of snow annually.

Embark on a short, scenic trip from Vancouver, British Columbia up the Sea to Sky Highway and arrive in Whistler, Canada. Sightseeing ideas

Experience the thrill of a lifetime with the self-guided and instructor-guided bobsleigh and Skeleton tours within Whistler’s Sliding Centre.
