We just checked into Mandalay Bay 45 minutes ago and it's been awful. We reserved a King size bed. They said we have no king size beds available. Only 2 Queens. I asked if we can get swapped out to a room with a King tomorrow? "They said no, that just because we reserved it doesn't guarantee that you will get a King". They waived our parking fee and gave us a $25 food credit. I let her know I appreciated that. $650 for 4 nights later...with the players club discount... We go to the room and it's all the way to the end of the hall as far away from the elevators as you can get. Huge walk. We open the door and our view is a small window with green scaffolding outside. The windows are filthy. The bathroom has left over deodorizer bottle from housekeeping. The ice machines don't work. But you can't go to another floor with your room card...only your floor. So we have to go to the casino floor, catch a ride with someone else to their floor to get ice. There is a smell of fried food like churros in the room. I've stayed at many casinos on the strip and an hour in and this is the first time at Mandalay Bay. I had higher expectations. We kinda splurged because this is our first time having a vacation just my Wife and I since having a child 4 years ago. This is a disappointment. A year ago we came down for two weeks a week apart... with our then 3 year old and stayed at Excalibur and we scoped out Mandalay Bay then and thought it was going to be really nice. We took our little to the shark reef here. Read less

I thought it was outrageous we were charged $25 for a liter of water in our room. And you have to pay for in-room coffee, you are charged $50 for adding anything to the fridge, and anything you touch from the snack tray ends up on your bill. That alone would keep me from returning. What looked like salsa was smeared in front of the elevators. It… Read more

First time staying at Mandalay Bay and the room and property were nicer than expected. Parking situation was terrible. We used valet parking the first two nights, on the second morning, our car took over 40 minutes to come up and we had to push back a tee time that affected our dinner plans later that evening. I was getting automated texts from MGM about many things, you'd think if 5 members of the valet staff called in sick that morning, that MGM could text an advisory to leave a lot of extra time due to unforseen circumstances. Upon returning, we decided to self-park because we needed to go right out again and we didn't risk having to wait another 40 minutes. However, there was an event at one of the venues on property and even though we were a hotel guest, we had to pay event parking, $23 even though we only parked for 1 hour. When we returned, we again parked in Valet in the hopes they wouldn't have personnel issues the next morning but it still greatly irritated us that we basically paid $63 dollars to park for one 24 hour period and got neither the cost savings of self-park or the extra convenience of valet service. This mgm property is really an oasis of Vegas. They have a nice pool area, well maintained both indoor and outdoor amenities and everything is in this property (casino, dining, show, recreations etc). And most important a clean guest room
