TripAdvisor Traveller Rating:
Our family has stayed at this hotel twice now, both times for a Disneyland trip. The hotel is down the street from Dland but you will want to take the shuttle or drive. They now charge for the... Read more shuttle service so we just took our car. This trip was for our daughter's bday, we let them know ahead of time and was blown away by their kindness to make up a goody bag and include a Disney photo album for her on arrival. Made it that much more special. The rooms are clean, beds are very comfy, peaceful nights rest, staff is friendly and attentive. Overall... could not have asked for a better experience. Read less
This hotel has a perfect location with modern rooms including internet access. A resort fee may be payable, if you book online and not use a travel agent who can access total cost rates. The internet... Read more may seem cheaper but be aware of the extra payable to hotel direct, all you do it your self people. No surprises on check out if including resort fee in the cost paid. Hotel staff do put in effort and greet you, as you pass the counter. Concierge was also very helpful with organising the cheapest option to get us to the Queen Mary, Long Beach. A private driver and car was organised. This is much better than a tour and comfortable. A large vehicle was perfect. The rooms are modern and comfortable beds. Walking distance to Disneyland and Garden walk for restaurants. Would definitely return to this hotel. I recommend this for all travellers not just families who are catered for mainly. Read less
I spent 2 nights at this hotel on a recent trip to Disneyland. Cost - I got this hotel on Priceline for $60 per night plus tax. Even with the additional resort fee, at that price, it was an... Read more absolute steal. I thought the rack rate was slightly too expensive for what it was. Service - Check in was quick and easy, and the reception staff were very helpful with a couple of questions I had. Rooms - I was assigned a king room, which was at the end of the corridor on the ground floor. It looked out to the carpark, and for privacy I kept my drapes closed pretty much the whole time. On first impression the room seemed nice enough, but on closer inspection, there was some wear and tear, and some minor maintenance issues (eg bathroom door got jammed shut requiring a lot of force to open!). It was clean and comfortable though, and I had a great sleep. I did also like that there was a mini fridge and microwave in the room (although the microwave looked like it was on its last legs). Dining - There was an Italian restaurant on site which I unfortunately never got to try out. Upon check in I received a coupon for use at the restaurant. There was also pool service. Amenities - The pool area was quite nice, with plenty of seating available. I didn't actually go in, but enjoyed relaxing by the pool for a while one afternoon. There was a fitness centre available that I didn't use. It seemed to have a variety of machines. There was also a gift shop on site with the usual drinks, snacks and souvenirs available. Location & Transportation - It was about a 15 minute walk to Disneyland for this able bodied, fairly active young adult. There were a couple of busy roads to cross along the way. I would say it was right on the edge of being too far to walk after a long day at the parks. There are other options though. The ART stops close to the hotel, and the Toy Story carpark with a free shuttle bus to Disneyland was pretty much next door. I never tried out either option as I was happy enough with the walk. There was parking available at the hotel if you chose to drive there, although I'm pretty sure there was an extra fee for it. There were plenty of restaurants in the area and a convenient 7-Eleven on the corner. The Verdict - There was really nothing wrong with this hotel, but nothing outstanding either. If I got it as a mystery hotel again I would be happy enough, but it's probably not somewhere I'd book specifically. Read less
I traveled to Anaheim to meet up with my best friend to celebrate my 45th birthday at Disneyland and California Adventure. I chose the Red Lion because it wasn't over priced and I have always had a... Read more good experience staying at any Red Lion location. The rooms were nicely decorated and very comfortable and clean. The only two issues we had were the light sensor in the bathroom was very sensitive and would shut off while in the shower, I'm guessing maybe the steam, since there wasn't any kind of fan or ventilation available in the bathroom. Also, the drain in the tub probably needed to be cleaned out as it plugged up very quickly and was very slow to drain. Other than that, the room was fantastic, even had a single cup Keurig in the room. At check in, Mayra asked about why I was there and I let her know it was my birthday celebration. When we got to the room, she called up and asked if I could stop by the front desk, so I did later on before heading to the parks. She had put together a sweet gift bag of candy, trail mix a little stuffed lion and a personal card that she had made, wishing me a happy birthday. Of all the traveling I have done over the years, Mayra is by far the friendliest staff person I have ever met, even when we checked out, so attentive and caring. She deserves a raise. : ) I will stay here again. Read less
