I was in town for a quick visit but was undecided to stay here. But Eric convinced me to come in, since I was going to get in late I wasn’t sure if they would have any rooms. He advised that they had... Read more a few rooms and that I would really enjoy my stay, and he wasn’t wrong. I walked in and it was busy the music was going and there was a good crowd in the bar. Eric ( I think that was his name: Tall well dressed fellow) quickly greeted me and helped me check in, he was the only on at the front desk but he was polite and helped me as fast as he could. I got to my room and it was nice and clean. Check out was also fast and easy. I’ll be staying here again. Thank you for convincing me to come in. Read less
Having visited this hotel last year it was first on my list when planning a special wedding anniversary trip this year. The hotel still had the perfect discrete service as before, but were able in... Read more advance to help me add some touches that made our visit even better. The feel and layout of the hotel and pool area are excellent and the free use of their own small fleet of bicycles is excellent, allowing you great acres to the wider area and attractions. We used these extensively which saved on taxis and car hire, but were fun at the same time, they came with helmets and bike locks as well. Read less

I booked 5 nights for a business trip to the Santa Monica area in the Viceroy. In brief, I had a perfect stay, with a couple of details that could have been better but no complaints here. I had to... Read more make this reservation over the phone instead of online and was pleasantly surprised with an excellent attention and patience. Upon arrival, I was greeted very nicely and addressed by my name. The room was ready and I left the reception desk with a glass of chilled prosecco and an invitation to use the Viceroy free bikes to wander around Santa Monica. The room was as pictured in the web site, spacious with a large bed, a small sitting area and a large and nice bathroom. It had what they call a partial ocean view but you can hardly see any sea or beach. Not a problem for me because that was not the reason I selected the Viceroy. The hotel is well located if you want a slice of life in Santa Monica, near Main St. where there are many good restaurants and nice stores but, a little far from the tourist sites (like the Pier). I did not have a car but Uber is very efficient here so I didn't have to wrestle with the valet parking. Wi Fi was free and worked very well. At checkout, I received the same courteous treatment (no prosecco though) and was very efficient. There are only a few details that I think, could be better: HBO. How come a 300dlls+ a night hotel does not have premium cable? Beats me. Breakfast. The dishes in the menu sound delicious but in the plate they look more on the "no-frills" side. Very basic and simple. Edible. Room Service. This is the only real complaint I have of the hotel. The service was fast and the food was very good. However, they charge 10Dlls. + 20% service... And the server gave me "the look" because I did not tip extra! Way too expensive. A simple sandwich and a coke will take you into the 50 dollar range, unacceptable! Check Out time is at 11AM. Really? Obviously Check in is at 3PM. I will definitely stay again here if ever in Santa Monica, Venice or Marina del Rey again but will not consider for any other Los Angeles neighborhood visit, it is too far away. Read less
