Mammoth Mountain Inn

The hotel

Built in 1957, Mammoth Mountain Inn was Mammoth's first ski-resort accommodation and the only slope-side hotel at Mammoth's Main Lodge. Today it offers activities year round — in summer there's hiking, biking and outdoor adventures, and in winter it's a core skiers' and snowboarders' paradise, with the ultimate entry point to the slopes. Ski to the hotel at the end of the day and you can soon be blowing the steam off your hot toddy. Take a dip in the outdoor pool or one of the indoor or outdoor hot tubs. The Yodler dining terrace is the ideal place for a light snack on a sunny day and the great après-ski atmosphere in the Dry Creek Lounge is further enhanced by regular live music.

I hesitate to review because I don't want anything to really change at the Inn. We LOVE staying here because it's at the base of Main Lodge at the ski area and the convenience is amazing. The rooms are comfortable and clean. You can't beat the location for skiing but know you have to drive into town for anything if you don't plan to eat at the… Read more
I hesitate to review because I don't want anything to really change at the Inn. We LOVE staying here because it's at the base of Main Lodge at the ski area and the convenience is amazing. The rooms are comfortable and clean. You can't beat the location for skiing but know you have to drive into town for anything if you don't plan to eat at the restaurant onsite. The food was good at the restaurant and the staff was nice but they were clearly understaffed (post huge storm) which was understandable. The only negative is the place is older, so know that. The tub/shower inserts creak when you use them which is disconcerting but it's safe and clean. Noise from the rooms above can be distracting but overall it's a great place to stay. There is a pool, a hot tub outside and 3 smaller indoor ones that's awfully nice after a long day of skiing. I certainly hope the Inn doesn't get torn down and turned into a super expensive village because it keeps the old Mammoth Ski Area vibe alive and it would be shame to make skiing even more unaffordable. All of the staff was great! All requests were answered quickly. Hailey went above and beyond by running out in the storm to give us our parking pass. She was also very friendly and helpful. Great location! But, the hotel could be updated again. It is a little worn. We'll be back!! :)

We like to stay here every ski season, the location is amazing. All staff we come into contact with are friendly and provide great service. The day we arrived on our latest trip the elevator went out of service, and Hudson was so helpful and very intentional in ensuring that we were taken care of during that time. We will continue to return!

The room was clean and spacious with plenty of amenities. After checking out I realized I had left my Roku streaming hardware hooked up to the TV in the living room. I contacted the front desk and Natalie Megna (Front Desk Shift Manager) personally went to my room and recovered my Roku device. She promptly called me back and walked me through the steps so I could have them ship my Roku back to me in Michigan. With the help of Jalissa in Housekeeping my equipment was returned to me in a timely manner. Thank you to Natlie and Jalissa. Sincerely, Mike Cudnohufsky Read less
