I thought it would be a good opportunity to share my honest review about this hotel we used for our family trip to New York for new years. We booked two rooms 5001 & 5037 on December 30th for 3 days. I thought it would be a good opportunity to share my honest review about this hotel we used for our family trip to New York for new years. We booked two rooms 5001 & 5037 on December 30th for 3 days. We paid in total over 4k for our stay. Room 5001 was not properly clean when we got the room & found dirty underwear from the previous guests (the offered 150$ complimentary breakfast to cover up). We had no fridge in the room to store water & medication and upon inspection we found the windows locks on the 50 floors had been altered to be opened. Thank good we found out and quickly re-installed them. But the worst part of the trip was at check out on Jan 2nd 2024, We got over charged 2100$ USD on our bank/interact card. We called them on the 5th of January to avise them but they said it was normal/30 days money would come back. 90 days and few phone calls later money was still not returned as explained on our first call. We opened a case with the bank for fraud and advised the hotel we would pursue legal actions. Miraculously the money was deposited back 48 hours later. We wasted so much resources back and forth with the bank and hotel, never got explanation. I strongly recommend to watch your charges and fights to the end in case you get overcharged. Read less

Unfortunately I had a very disappointing experience. I am lifetime platinum member with Bonvoy and was told that really doesn't matter. I hoped for a satisfaction survey after my recent stay but none was offered. Given the price, level and size of this hotel, they need better ammenities. As a frequent Marriott Business traveler, I am very disapointed that their M lounge has not reopened. This can only be described as an attempt to cut services to improve the bottom line. Access to fresh brewed coffe in the morning is difficult. One barrista for a hotel this size is not realistic. I went to a Dunkin across the street (in the rain) and still was faster than if I ordered in the hotel. Their billing detail is also in need of improvement. Now that they charge the annoying "Destination Fee" they need to credit the F&B purchases so the billing truly reflects the room cost. Their accountants chose a much more byzantine method. Overall, not great for a business traveler. On a positive note, the room was clean and housekeeping was very professional. But I'll probably look elsewhere next NYC visit. Read less

A huge issue was that of the lifts system: because of the large number of people at the hotel for the same educational project and the small number of lifts available, the waiting time was almost unbearable and we ended up taking the stairs quite often. On the other hand, the location was a plus since the hotel is very close to the MoMA, Central Park, Time Square and many options for food and shopping. Read less

The elevator system at the Sheraton is one of the worst things I’ve ever experienced in any hotel. The elevator system at the Sheraton is one of the worst things I’ve ever experienced in any hotel. It’s probably fine a lot of the time, but if you are traveling in a large group and the hotel puts you on the same floor (which they do), it is a nightmare. One elevator will be dedicated to your floor (and many others) so you end up waiting 10-15 minutes for a single elevator to come and it’s already full with people from a floor above. It literally took us over 30 minutes to get an elevator multiple times on our trip. And the stairs are not accessible to go up, and when I asked if they could be I was simply told “No.” The rooms are small and have no refrigerators. Our room had no information and no labels on the phone. I had to look up the hotel online and call the front desk from my cell phone to find out anything. The food is not good at all and incredibly overpriced, though the Library Bar did try to be accommodating of food allergies which I appreciated. Please, please, please change the elevators to the way everyone else in the world does it. Why are you looking for solutions to problems that don’t exist? Read less
