TripAdvisor Traveller Rating:
Excellent Westin property just one city block off Times Square, and only a couple blocks from multiple Broadway theaters. I don't believe you can beat this location! Rooms were modern, clean and... Read more well sized for NY. Staff were always very helpful and courteous. The only downside would be the price, but felt the value provided for that was good. We did receive a break for being AAA members. This included a free breakfast for two that was more than adequate. Might want to mention this when booking. We really enjoyed our stay and will seriously consider staying again when we return to NY. Read less
This was my first time to New York City and my first time in a Westin. GREAT location! The hotel was very nice and the rooms were very roomy. We had 3 adults in one room and there was still plenty... I thought they should have offered free Wi-Fi for how much you pay for the rooms. Read less
My wife and I went on first trip to NYC and had a Great time. Stayed at the Westin New York in Time square and what a great hotel and the middle of everything. As always NYC is not cheap and neither... Read more is the hotel but everyone very friendly, service was excellent and room was very neat and clean. Stayed in a junior suite which was nice and great views of the city. City fairly easy to get around in either by subway, cab or city bus of which we used all with problems. I booked this hotel after a bit of research on Tripadvisor and I was not disappointed. I planned a surprise 30th Birthday trip to NYC for my fiancee and wanted a hotel central to Times Square, within... Read more walking distance of the main NYC attractions. The Westin did not disappoint! The hotel is clean and staff very friendly. Our room had been newly renovated and the bathroom was terrific and modern. Most of the attractions are within walking distance and I would definitely suggest that you explore by walking from the hotel, as you see so much more and soon become familiar with the layout of NYC. We ate at Shula's Steakhouse one night, which is part of the Hotel and have to say it was a lovely meal and no more than what you'd expect to pay staying right in the heart of NYC. I rate the Value as 'average' as it is comparable to other Hotels, in the same class, in the area, which given their respective locations, are all pricey. With that said, we have no complaints and believe we received very good service at a cost I expected to pay. My only gripe with the Hotel was the separate charge for wifi use. At circa $20 a day it is a bit of a smack in the face having paid a premium to stay that the hotel. There are cheaper hotels that offer free wifi and in today's modern age of communication the Westin should offer a similar service. However, as you will soon realise there are plenty of cafes and Starbucks that offer free wifi if you want to check email, Skype or FaceTime. There is a Starbucks across the road next to the McDonalds, which does a lovely gingerbread latte. Overall we had an amazing time in NYC, made extra special at Christmas time, and the Westin made our stay thoroughly enjoyable too. We would definitely stay at the Hotel again and would not hesitate to recommend it. Read less
Stayed here in September 2013 for a long weekend with my wife. Recommended the hotel by family members and was not disappointed. Staff were all excellent, our room was a deluxe room (meaning above...
