Virgin Holidays has teamed up with Google to develop the ability to find and book your holidays
through their popular Google Earth software.
This exciting development extends Virgin Holidays involvement with Googles mapping tools,
building on the Google Maps already used within the Virgin Holidays website itself.
Getting started
To start finding your holidays with Google Earth, follow the two steps below.
If you already have Google Earth installed just go straight to the second step.
-
Step 1 - Download Google Earth by clicking the icon below;
-
Step 2 - Download the Virgin Holidays layer for Google Earth by clicking this icon (alternatively, right click on the icon and choose "Save Target As"). Once downloaded open the file and it will launch in Google Earth;
What is Google Earth?
Google Earth combines Google Search with satellite imagery and maps to provide detailed and easy to use geographic information (as illustrated by these screen shots on the right).
The Virgin Holidays layer shows where hotels, airports and other points of interest are on Google Earth, and provides a link to a detailed page on www.virginholidays.co.uk for more information and to book.
