Onboard WheelchairOnboard Wheelchair

On all Virgin Atlantic aircraft an onboard wheelchair is carried to assist disabled passengers to and from the toilet. Please note that these are small and light in weight and therefore have weight restrictions. For further details, contact the Customer Care Department.

SeatingSeating

Seating requests can be made on your behalf through the Customer Care Team with Virgin Atlantic Airways. Please note that only passengers who are 100% fit are permitted to sit at the exit seats which are assigned by check in staff on the day of departure. Bulkhead seats are normally reserved for families with young infants as sky cots are located here.

Body SupportsBody Supports

Severely disabled children may benefit from the use of a special body support supplied through Virgin Atlantic; these can be requested through the Customer Care Department who will be able to give you more information on the two different types of body supports that Virgin can provide complimentary.

Carriage of Wheelchairs, Medication & Medical EquipmentCarriage of Wheelchairs, Medication & Medical Equipment

Manual and dry cell (gel) battery operated wheelchairs will be carried free of charge. Wet cell, spillable battery operated wheelchairs can not be accepted unless prior authorisation by Virgin Atlantic has been given and certain terms and conditions are met.
Due to security measures at all airports, please make sure you have a doctor's letter or similar documentation to confirm your medical condition and details of any medication you will be carrying. Please note that Virgin Atlantic Airways are unable to store medication in their onboard cool boxes. Therefore, for those passengers who have medication that needs to be kept cool, we recommend that you carry a small cool bag in addition to your normal hand luggage allowance.
Any medical equipment to be used in the cabin must be cleared with Virgin Atlantic Airways, therefore, please contact the Customer Care Department with full details.

OxygenOxygen

Supplementary Oxygen can be provided on all Virgin Atlantic flights, however, this is subject to availability and therefore, imperative that you request this with the Customer Care Team as soon as possible.

Special MealsSpecial Meals

Passengers who require special onboard meals due to food allergies or for medical reasons need to contact the Customer Care Team who will request these on customers' behalf.

Deaf PassengersDeaf Passengers

Virgin Atlantic Cabin Crew have some basic knowledge of sign language. However, there are a number of crew proficient in signing, who can be requested through Virgin Atlantic on specific flights for deaf passengers. Also, to help deaf passengers to enjoy the In Flight entertainment Virgin Atlantic Airways, have a limited number of neck loops on each aircraft and portable DVD players with a limited number of subtitled films. Blind PassengersBlind Passengers

On behalf of Virgin Atlantic Airways, we can arrange pre-boarding and tactile safety demonstrations. On all Virgin Atlantic aircraft the Safety Demonstration Cards and a Duty Free Magazine are in Braille.
