The pool area is lovely. The water was a little cool, so I didn’t venture in it. The room was okay....but there weren’t separate tables for each twin bed (which I need a place for glasses, phone, etc.), had very weak water pressure, and no screens in window with n A/C. Having said that, it was clean and did the job for a one night stay. It… Read more

Plus points - location is 20 steps next to a big mall with multiple food joints, mobile shops and other items; many excellent restaurants in 5 minute walking distance; property is clean and welcoming and best part has lots of open spaces! What can be better- noise cancelling windows unless you prefer to be in the nearby happening pubs and casinos… Read more

Just came on a solo mini break to Nairobi and spent one night at the Jacaranda. It looks like a hotel that was probably magnificent when it opened decades ago. Dark and dingy upholstery and outdated and muggy bathrooms are past their prime. The pool looks beautiful and clean, so there's that as a plus. No fitted sheets and sheets that are two shorts mean that after a little movement you'll soon be making contact with the bare mattress. The bellhop told me I was lucky to get a room with an AC. I presume that means other rooms do not have AC, so I decided that the loudness of the AC in my room was better than being changed to another hotter dingy room. The biggest issue was that I was doing work while sitting at the pool bar for about 3 hours. While there, a man that one of the waiters told me was a manager or an owner kept harassing me. He would had one waiter pass me a note, which I have back, another waiter to ask me if he could buy me a beer, which after refusing 5x I finally accepted (though later returned) as the waiter was pleading with me to accept, possibly afraid of retribution from the incessant sender of said beer. A third waiter to come ask again if he could pass me a note I said I did not want to be bothered if they could let me be. I was planning on charging my bill to the room but paid cash as I was concerned that the waiters would not be able to refuse if this man asked for my room number or name. I made sure to barricade the door when I went to bed, just in case. I reported this to the front desk and the front desk manager who both seemed quite surprised and perturbed by this incident. Their professionalism is the only reason this place gets two rather than one point from me. I left as soon as I woke up. If the hotel reads this, please note the issue was not the waiters as they clearly did not feel comfortable telling this man no, and looked like they were picking up on my lack of interest faster than he was. Stayed here for two nights before safari, arrived at midnight to cheery welcome from staff, room big and spacious. We had breakfast included in our package which was first class. Stunning surroundings beautifully maintained grounds. Would return without hesitation

We stayed for 3 nights before our Safari and had a lovely time. We used the spa and had massages at a very good price and the staff were amazing. Lovely food for breakfast and we ate in The Club opposite the hotel in the evening.
