Cape Grace Hotel

Cape Town, South Africa

The hotel

Part of the Cape Town social scene, this iconic hotel attracts discerning locals and travellers to its vibrant Bascule Bar. Known for its whisky, wine, and cocktails (and tapas), sundowners in the bar are just one of Cape Grace’s dining and drinking experiences, with others including tasting the contemporary Cape cuisine of Signal Restaurant. It helps that Cape Grace has one of the best addresses in the city, on a private quay by the V&A Waterfront – and this harbour-side location means it can share stunning views of the marina or mountain from its suites. Locals may get to taste the delights of Bascule Bar, but those staying here also get to indulge in the nautical-themed outdoor pool, signature Kalahari massages in the spa, and a children’s program that includes thoughtful touches like little slippers and robes, and gingerbread decorating.

Just had a great afternoon at the cape grace. Really good service from Nichole, very relaxing in the lounge. Wonderful pomegranate tea. Cape Grace is an elegant hotel perfectly located in Cape Town. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by a professional member of the hotel team. We were escorted to a quiet corner in the lobby, offered a beverage, completed our registration, oriented to the hotel and taken to our rooms. The orientation to the hotel and rooms was completed there. The hotel is beautifully decorated and furnished. It is spotless and the attention to detail is evident everywhere. Each morning we had a delicious and wonderful breakfast. Again, service was professional without being cloying. A nice and unexpected touch was fresh coffee brought to our room with our wake up call! We also enjoyed shopping in the hotel gift shop with its' tastefully selected merchandise! Without a doubt, this is a hotel that will remain at the top of out list! Read less

Like an old English colonial hotel. Sits on waterfront with easy walk to variety of restaurants. Have courtesy shuttle to take you other places. They arranged a tee time at Metropolitan Golf course for my son and me. Service was exceptional. When coming back to hotel, they would know name and welcome you back home.

This is my favourite hotel in the world. I spent my last day in Cape Town here with my special person. We had a hot beverage in the lounge, we then had a spa and Lunch at the signal restaurant. We then finished it off at the whisky bar. It’s the hidden gem in Cape Town.

You have to stay here at least once! What a fantastic start to our honeymoon! The staff at Cape Grace have truly pulled out all of the stops during our stay for my wife and I. Everything - from the coziness of the rooms to the service you receive from the staff - is of a 5* luxurious standard. The food is truly phenomenal and I thoroughly recommend taking advantage of the tasting menu which includes wine with each course. The knowledge of each dish and accompanying wine from our waiter, Marlon, was the best service my wife and I have ever received. The whole Cape Grace experience was better than anything we’ve experienced from any other 5* hotel we’ve been to anywhere in the world. Read less
