We've stayed at he Protea hotel several times now. The hotel is older but recently renovated it has some historical value as well. Breakfast room service and bar are all quite nice. Many rooms have an ocean view although you ar a block and a half from the actual waterfront

This is a very good choice for a stay near the sea in Cape Town. It is simple, but has everything you need. The rooms are not large, but well equipped with fridge, kettle etc and some have a balcony. There is secure underground parking, charged for. The breakfast was very good, the usual choice of fresh fruit, cooked food. The small pool was more… Read more

No on site restaurant as such, though there was a Spur chain restaurant attached. Read less

There’s a nice little pool on the roof. Family friendly hotel. It was a free special buffet including wine, on the 31st of december in the lobby. It… Read more

Reception and restaurant staff very friendly, Spur Restaurant onsite, but you as a Prokard Member cannot use prokard for dinner. Rooms need upgrade, rooms and furniture look old and boring against other Protea hotels we stayed over. Walking distance from the beach, lots of restaurants close to the Hotel and Parking onsite available.

Only because we walked into renovations. Hope they consider sound proof windows and doors. Can be noisy when guests stand in hallways talking on their cellphones. Rooms clean and large enough for short stays. Very well located. Rooms overlooking Lions Head the best. Undercover parking @ R50 per day. Reception staff professional. Nice pool and… Read more
