Despite it being a Marriott chain hotel the staff are attentive and friendly. The service is personal and nothing is too much trouble. They know your name despite lots of guests being around. Spent 3 days here and have been impressed by the friendliness and personal service received..

The hotel: don’t expect any luxury and bling bling. You will get a comfortable bed in a very good location with exceptionally friendly staff. We had a spacious family room with 2 double comfortable beds. We slept very well. The room did not have a balcony, but it was just a few meters from the wonderful Sea Point promenade. The hotel is more 3 star, but I gave 4 stars because of the staff. The location: Sea Point is relatively safe and has an amazing promenade from where you can enjoy the sunset. Some nice pubs, restaurants an supermarkts closeby. The Waterfront an downtown Capetown could easily be reached in 5-10 minutes. I would stay here again. Loyaltyprogram: At that point I was Marriott Platinum Elite, besides the welcome points and a room upgrade, don’t expect any other benefits. Conclusies: good, nice hotel to explore Cape Town and the region. Friendly staff, comfortabele beds, the rest if the hotel us mire 3 star level. It has great potential, Thanks to the location. I hope Protea and Marriott di something nice with it ... Read less

We stayed for 5 nights and we had a comfortable time. The highlight was the breakfast the 3 mornings we had it, with the staff being friendly, making jokes and remembering things about us! Even bringing extra coffee when it looked like one wouldn't do. We also loved the lady behind the bar who every night knew we were going to buy wine or ask for… Read more

When we could eventually all get to our rooms we decided to have a snooze for an hour after our trip. The cleaning staff were still busy on our floor and were taking loudly to each other and banging doors that I complained to the management. My husband and i ordered room service and had to call 3 times to find out what had happened to our order. I am gravely disappointed with this Protea Hotel Sea Point. We have stayed at several Protea Hotels country wide and had excellent service. We will sadly not stay here when we visit Cape Town again. Read less

We stayed with friends for 7 nights. The hotel is in a lovely position with the sea front at the end of the road. The hop on hop off bus stop is just a few minutes walk away. There are plenty of nice restaurants nearby, the promonade is across the road, the fillet steak is great. A 5 minute walk away is Mojos market. This is a great place to visit as there are bars and eateries and live music. The V&A Waterfront is a 30 minute walk or just 5 - 10 minutes in a cab. The hotel is very nice. Our rooms were on the top floor with sea and mountain views. The rooms are a good size and the bed was huge and comfortable. Breakfast is lovely with a good selection of hot and cold food. The lady who cooked your eggs to order, I recommend the omelette, was lovely. Gideon on the front desk was a great help, always ready to assist with our enquiries. Overall this is a great hotel in a convenient position. Read less
