Welcome to the hotel in Hermanus that lies, and has no idea of customer service. Booked six rooms at Harbour House for myself and my colleagues on the basis of the lies of sea fronted rooms shown on the website. Reality is totally different when arriving putting us all into a block of flats in the center of town with no sea views, peeling paint and stinking on bleach and ammonia. Upon asking management to move us to the rooms promised on the website, he simply ignored the request running away to hide from a customer that had just been lied to. Check into the hotel next door, The Auberge Burgundy as the reality is what it says on the website Read less

Upon arriving you are compelled to pay R250 pd for "incidentals". This is deducted from you account and only returned when the bank feels like it. Not even car hire companies do this. I really found this extremely offensive to pay for services I have yet to receive. I have never had this at any hotel worldwide. The parking is a nightmare and you never sure of getting your parking. When you arrive there is no consideration of maybe checking in early and everything is run"according to hotel policy" as the manager said. They are clearly catering to uncomplaining International tourists and just have no feeling for their customers. As a South African I will never stay here again as there are much more pleasant places to stay in Hermanus. The rooms are extremely noisy, especially early in the morning, so don't expect to sleep late. Lastly the coffee pods are not replaced daily and this is again just a lack of attention to detail. A beautiful place that destroys all the ambiance with poor service and rigid attitudes. Read less
