Knysna Log Inn

Knysna, Garden Route

The hotel

No ordinary log cabin, this grand inn may have all the rustic charm of a woodland lodge, with indigenous timber at every turn, vaulted ceilings, and cosy nooks, but Knysna Log-Inn is more chic than chalet in its spirit. Its glorious gardens feature plant-packed flower beds, lush greenery, and a lounger-lined swimming pool (for those days you’d rather sunbathe than sightsee). It may look like it belongs in the mountains, but staying here puts you firmly in the fabulous town of Knysna, just a stroll from the waterfront’s shops and eateries, and a drive from the attractions of the famous Garden Route

We stayed as a stop over for 1 night with our teenage boys sharing our room on the sleeper couch. Safe parking. Room was lovely, clean and comfortable. My one son didn't enjoy the sleeper couch, so if we do stay again, we'll book 2 rooms. This is a classic old log cabin lodge, just lovely. We enjoyed our breakfast, I have a fussy breakfast eater and he enjoyed it too. I appreciate the convenience of where it is located and the easy of being there. Read less

Save yourself the time and stay somewhere else, this was booked for us so thankfully we were there for only ONE night. No need for detail since they would have the last word with their comment on TripAdvisor....

On pictures this hotel looks historic an interesting, but when you get in, your are really disappointed. Each time you touch the wood, it somehow feels sticky. The room was dark and very old-fashioned. Breakfast was something you would like to forget: coffee without taste, the buffet was half empty, the service (refill of the buffet, cleaning of the tables) was much to slow. Only 2 positive things to say: large parking lot, and less then 10 minutes to walk to the port with all the nice restaurants and souvenir shops. Read less
