Image of the Tripadvisor rating Suitable for a short stay

The hotel shares the premises with a sports club (hence "Wanderers") that offers excellent facilities for its members, not for hotel guests. We found the hotel suitable for a short stay only. Its location does not make walks outside in the dark advisable, but a hotel shuttle offers guests a safe trip to the city centre every hour. Rooms are of medium size and equipped comfortably enough. Food at breakfast or dinner times is of fairly good quality, although my Chicken Tikka Masala resembled this delicious traditional Indian dish in no way and seemed to have used a starved chicken which was then overcooked. Bad luck, I like to think. My wife's pasta was much better. Read less

This is an excellent choice if you are coming for business meetings, conferences, etc.: the hotel is located in an affluent neighborhood only 8-10 minutes away from the "business center" and the huge Sandton Convention Center - at a price lower than the hotels located nearer the business destinations during peak periods. This is an excellent choice if you are coming for business meetings, conferences, etc.: the hotel is located in an affluent neighborhood only 8-10 minutes away from the "business center" and the huge Sandton Convention Center - at a price lower than the hotels located nearer the business destinations during peak periods. I was upgraded to a Junior Suite - and it was BIG, with plenty of wardrobes and drawers (probably the most spacious wardrobe capacity I've seen on all my travels). the quality of the room was good, with contemporary design. The bathroom had a separate shower cabin and a bathtub. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of food at the hotel's restaurant - both breakfasts and a la carte menu (e.g. had one of the best filet steaks ever). A cozy bar makes for a good place for leisure or business meetings. The outdoor pool is a little bit too small and too cold - but must be refreshing on a hot day. The gym is rather decent (for a hotel), with a few cardio and resistance machines plus a range of free weights, cable machines and a Smith's machine (the gym gets crowded in the mornings as it appears external paid visitors are coming as well). All in all, very satisfied. Read less

As the main purpose of the visit is the rest and dont disturb sign has a point, Why dont they care, laundry staff a Lady insisted on knocking the door while I was sleeping, I told her leave outside she hep knocking. She should have known better, know I have long hours to be awake. 4 Star is too many if that basic need can not be monitored

We were happy with our stay and would use this hotel again in the same location. The restaurant it a convenient place for breakfast and dinner. In fairness, I think the dinner buffet could be a little better but all in all, it ticks all the boxes and is a place I would recommend. Just a note, the safe in our room would not work, but we put everything in our daughters room safe. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating They don’t even have a comb set for guests. And they call themselves part of Marriott?

Sep 15, 2019 lvanbrussel Antwerp, Belgium

Go to any star worthy hotel and they have a dental kit, shaving kit, vanity kit, etc. When you forgot one. Not this hotel. Not even a simple comb. Can’t call yourself Marriott. Should be offering this as a standard.
