OK hotel, more like a conference centre with lodging. Easy to find, and lots of parking. My room was clean and tidy, rainfall shower was nice with an iron and ironing board. Breakfast buffet was pretty good, lots of seating in the restaurant and a huge selection of choices. The only issue I had was whilst eating dinner at the Lacuna bar, where the waiter decided to choose the payment currency himself, and then when questioned assured me it was hotel policy, but it wasn't early in the day. A quick chat with the manager and an apology a refund was attempted but there's only 1 machine which can perform a refund, and it wasn't working, the next day it still wasn't working so still need to check my statement. My wife and I spent a couple of days at The Maslow and, on balance, enjoyed our time there. Service was always pleasant and attentive and food very good. The room itself was small but serviceable - our biggest issue was that the 'trendy' glass bathroom and toilet were very noisy, so if one person went to the loo the other person could hear… Read more

The staff always recognise me and welcome me back with big smiles. Had great help this afternoon from Tumi in getting my bags to my room and wonderful service from Lebohang at dinner. Leon must make the best cuppachinos, especially with his creative artwork!

Really hard to beat! The location is excellent too close by to Sandton City and Nelson Mandela Square. The hotel offers free shuttles to these locations or only 26SAR in an Uber. Read less

We went to Johannesburg for a wedding, and spent 2 nights at The Maslow, it was worth every penny. It is 5 min away from Sandton City Mall, Nelson Mandela Square and the Gautrain station. The staff was friendly and welcoming, especially the ladies at the reception desk. Every staff member we encountered made us feel welcome, by greeting us and giving us a smile. Facilities were modern and clean, and rooms were in excellent condition. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was really beautiful, had a bath and shower. I am not a fan of open plan bedroom and bathroom with frosted glass in between though. At night if you put on the light in the bathroom, it can disturb your partner who is asleep, so its either that or go to the bathroom in the dark. The room has a safe, flat screen with full DSTV bouquet, bar fridge, iron and ironing board. It has a fancy coffee machine with coffee pods, but the machine in our room did not work and we had to use the coffee machine in the adjoining room booked for my children. My wife loved the spa treatment at the Africology Spa on the first floor. It was pricey, but she was really impressed with the facilities and the variety of treatments. We requested Halal breakfast which the hotel arranged, but the meals were soggy because it was reheated in the oven and the juice from the tomato had soaked into the eggs and the hash browns, which put us off. But I must mention, the normal breakfast area had quite a spread and looked really good, with lovely pastries, yogurt, fresh fruit, cold meats, eggs, etc. There is a gym, swimming pool and conference facilities. Parking is secured but uncovered. There is a McDonalds and KFC in walking distance, but I am not sure how safe it is to walk there at night. The other option is to use the hotel shuttle which goes to the Sandton City Mall every 30 minutes and has a drop off and pickup point, which we found to be really convenient. Sandton City Mall has a large number of restaurants for you to choose from, not to mention all the retail stores. We will definitely stay at The Maslow again. Read less
