The staff and the rooms were great, and the food was superb. The staff did their best to please and to make sure each day had variation. The chefs and guides were superlative. We had a fantastic time. It felt like we had travelled back in time to a pleasant remnant of the British Empire. You will be getting up very early in the morning for a small, quick snack, and then jumping in a Land Rover jeep for an excursion for a few hours...before it gets too hot. There will be a tea and snack break about mid-way through. You will have a nice breakfast when you return. Likely, you will be going on two excursions a day...possibly more. You might find it difficult to eat lunch due to the timing; you probably don't want to overeat on breakfast because of this. Regardless, you will dine very well. The countryside was dry and we saw lots of beautiful animals. My favorites were the giraffes and gazelles. You might even see some gazelles within the camp, outside your cabin. They are small and docile...sort of like an African version of deer. We only booked 3 nights because we didn't want the daily ventures to be too repetitive. It seemed to have worked out well. Also, we were there while it was still the dry season, so worries about malaria were much less. The cabins are surrounded by a high electric fence for protection against lions, but you will still have a staff member accompany you to your cabin at night, just in case. You will probably find mosquitoes in your room at night, but I just left the light on in the bathroom and mostly closed the door. This seemed to lure them away and trap them. We also had anti-mosquito nets on the beds. We had no troubles sleeping and it was very comfortable. One thing that I would change (personally) is that I would not take anti-malaria medicine in the future. It really caused bad heartburn for me in the afternoons. On the last night, my wife and I had a private dinner in the wine cellar. It was marvelous. The manager also made sure we had a good sampling of the best Pinotage wine during our stay, and we enjoyed a different one every day. Watching, and interacting with, the elephants was magical. The secondary trip to see the big cats and other animals in fenced enclosures was nice, but not really that much different than a zoo. Most of the time, you will be in a Land Rover traveling on roads through the game park, watching animals. This is the main activity and very fun. I would love to come back to this resort. Read less

Yeap, if someone were to ask me which is my favorite place on earth, Jabulani would be the place. We discovered this gem in 2017 and have been back every year, being this our fourth visit. We have always felt the warmth and the kindness of everyone here, from the wonderful managers, Chantel and Stefan to every single staff member, who are always ready to pamper you and help you in any way. Ruan, our superb guide, who made our dream sighting come true the night before my husband's birthday ending with a lovely birthday celebration and cake! Wow, what a great way to end 3 weeks of safari through 3 different countries!!! Tigere, thank you and all the other angel grooms for taking such wonderful care of all those gentle giants. We truly appreciate all the hard work you do! The chefs during our stay, Alex and Zandrie, who made wonderful meals for us. Ansie, helping us out with all our purchases at thew gift shop and all the great butlers with lovely smiles, housekeeping and landscaping staff, great job everyone! If I could only keep one beautiful memory in my mind, it would be that of the elephant orphans walking next to the waterhole at sunset on their way home, their beautiful shadows reflected in the water. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay as always and God willing, we will be back as soon as possible! Read less

The clear mission of welfare of the animals and positive experience for guests made this 3 day trip seem entirely too short! I highly recommend it to anyone who likes luxury, pampering, loves animals, cares about the environment...

Being married to an expat South African we have made many trips to the bush. Jabulani was in it’s own category and it”s own world. I have never experienced anything like it in my life. There are only five suites and one villa on the property which makes the entire experience very intimate. The details of the room were unbelievable and one felt that so much love that thought had gone into every aspect including tiny cut out elephants from leaves on the toilet paper and towels. Amenities were top quality and the service was perfection. We were pampered to the point that the staff did everything for us but bathe us!!! We were lucky enough to be there just after a lion kill and saw enough lions to last a lifetime. Our ranger had grown up in the bush and was incredibly knowledgeable and amenable and did whatever we wanted to do. The pace is very relaxed. You can eat wherever and whenever you want. There is a lovely patio right on a small water hole where most people eat breakfast, lunch and dinner but you can have a romantic dinner on your own deck or in the boma which is a large outdoor enclosure where you are outside but protected. Of course what makes Jabulani extra special are their orphaned elephants who we were able to feed and watch swimming. They are kept away from the wild elephants because they do not mix well. The first evening we arrived at a watering whole where they had set up chairs and a table of wines and appetizers and we sat under the sunset watching the elephants parade around the water. It is truly beautiful. Every room has it’s own dipping pool down some steps from your room. Every night we would walk down the steps and sit and look at the carpet of stars that were so clear you wanted to reach up and take one! We loved all the staff but really fell in love with Isaac, Shadrack and Song.....the three butlers. I wanted to take them home with us! This is not a 5 star hotel experience....it is a 10 star!!! We will go back! Read less
