On our bucket list trip to safari in Africa, Kapama was our first stop and was it was hard to meet the standard it set. Stayed four nights in this fabulous property. Our guide and tracker couldn’t have been better. We saw the big five, we learned so much about the animals, the country and the people. The safaris were great. I loved that the grounds weren’t very busy. We did see other jeeps but not a lot. We got very close to the animals but the guide and tracker were always respectful of the animals and their comfort level. The guide and tracker were extremely knowledgeable and it paid off many times as they would determine that waiting in a spot was good and eventually what they predicted would happen. Like we waited in a spot waiting for the pride leader to show up and he did. The property ru s kind of like a cruise ship in that you were with a group during your stay for safaris and supper. We had a great group so we really enjoyed that atmosphere and missed it at future properties on our trip. The accommodations were great. The room was large, clean and for us confidently located on ground floor as I have some health limitations. The food was great and the variety was plentiful. Got to try several things we have never before. The grounds were beautiful and the pool area was located where you could see animals come right up. The property is located close to the airport and we saw a few types of animals on our way to the property. I would go back to this property if I got the chance. Read less

We stayed here party of a land tour. It was amazing! We arrived at the airport and the gates to the park are across the streed. So we loaded up a safari vechile entered the park and right away was seeing giraffes. It was so fun going through the dirt roads to arrive at the main lodge. The lodge is beautiful. Our room had 2 single beds per our request (I went with my mom) Beds were a bit hard for my liking, but my mom loved. You got a fridge in your room and large glass bottles of water. Drank the water (which is purified) and was good, incase anyone had concerns. Gorgeous bathroom, bathtub, shower, seperate toliet. Love the bathroom spray. Would have bought some if for sale! We did have occasion bugs in our room, but this is Africa and is expected in a lodge. Breakfast/lunch was typical buffet style, lots of good options. Dinner one day we had outside by a fire. Be prepared for bugs attracted to the lights on the tables. This cannot be stopped and adds to the experience. Second night we had it in the buffet room which was good. Staff were great, expecially the house cleaning staff. They knew us by name which was a nice touch. Only complaint was I wish we had longer here :D Will do sperate review for the game drives for the park. Read less

We booked three days in the River Lodge and were upgraded to Karula. Spacious rooms and very attentive staff in every occasion. Ranger and trekker were also very important to help us to spot the animals. Highly recommend.
