This place is more commercial and not typical authentic. service was great and the place is HUGE. Buffet service for meals (not completely impressed), 3 huge pools (they are more raw part of the hotel) and many lounging places, Spa is great but nothing extraordinary, The safaris are good, ofcourse again since the place is with 64 rooms and 2 safari each day, its like a well run oil machine, Our ranger and guide were still great and we got to see some real great sights and the leopard chase was just unreal. One of the best adreline adventure chasing rhough sunset in dark bushy jungles for a leopard and then we got to see not one but a tribe of them, Absolutlely worth the 2 hour chase locating them. Told you, patience is something you need to pack in abundance when on safari trips. Read less

We arrived at Kapama River Lodge after a great 3 days in Sun City resort. We had a good journey on a South African AirLink flight from OR Tambo Airport (Johannesburg) to Hoedspruit. We had decided to stay for 3 days and 3 nights, meaning we had 6 safaris overall. The morning safaris started at 6:30 AM and finished at 9:30 AM, followed by… Read more
We arrived at Kapama River Lodge after a great 3 days in Sun City resort. We had a good journey on a South African AirLink flight from OR Tambo Airport (Johannesburg) to Hoedspruit. We had decided to stay for 3 days and 3 nights, meaning we had 6 safaris overall. The morning safaris started at 6:30 AM and finished at 9:30 AM, followed by breakfast. After we had an extended period of 'chill time' in which we went down to the pool. It was absolutely freezing! Following this, afternoon tea was at 3:30 PM and the second safari started at 4:00 PM and ran to 7:00 PM. Dinner started at 7:30 PM and each night there was something different on offer. The food was exceptional and everyone staying in the same safari group sat together along with the safari driver. Our stay was absolutely amazing, and we weren't disappointed at all. We got to see all of the big five along with many other interesting animals. A truly incredible experience for all of us! Read less

I recently had the opportunity to book this hotel. It was a disaster, inefficiently run. Unprofessional. I would avoid this hotel group at all costs. You do not get what you pay for. From poorly managed outings to awful customer service. Next time I will book another hotel.

The Traipsing Africa Safari group were excellent to deal with from the get go. Clear and concise lines of communication before, during and after the safari. The tour guides were first class with extensive knowledge of the Greater Kruger National Park and all the wildlife found there. We did the three day safari and we were not disapointed, we saw the big five, the small five and the ugly five animals within the three days. I would reccomend this safari to all, you will be amazed at the location and the friendly approachable staff. The facilities at the River Lodge were First Class with an excellent choice of food and beverages. Read less

Amazing experience, great accommodation, very comfortable, great food, loved the game drives, all the staff is very friendly and willing to help you. It is expensive, but worth it because everything is included, you don’t need to worry about anything just relax and enjoy.
