The hotel

Spier Hotel is a beautiful family-friendly hotel situated in the heart of Stellenbosch with a range of activities all within the hotel's grounds. The hotel part of Spier is set up like a village, with large rooms set in 2-storey buildings grouped around private courtyards each with their own pools and spacious gardens. The larger Spier resort is a 300-year-old wine farm which still features on-site wine tasting, plus a choice of restaurants including the farm-to-table Restaurant 'Eight', providing locally grown organic produce cooked to perfection. There's a picnic area with children's playground if a spot of outdoor dining takes your fancy and to keep everyone entertained the Spier is also home to Eagle Encounters, a bird of prey rehabilitation, education, conservation and eco-tourism centre. Spier Hotel is a place of good food, good wine and good hospitality.

A must for us when we visit Cape Town. Great rooms, fantastic setting and plenty to do whilst there plus some of the best service we have experienced. Always friendly and welcoming. Cannot recommend this enough

It’s a village hotel. Quite a neat experience. The wine was amazing. There are singing stones on the property. It’s a great property for big conferences and leisure walks and jogs. Great food and country air.

Loved the Hotel. The food was divine and the art was lovely south African art. The service and friendliness of staff was impressive too. The spacious rooms as well as available activities make the venue an ideal weekend outing for family or business trip and even a weekend away for two. Bravo.
