I can't say enough about the gardens of this hotel - well done to the ground staff who maintain the property. Really exquisite! The staff were really friendly but we could sense a degree of anxiety in the air during our stay as hotel ownership had changed and many jobs were on the line, as we were told by many. With regards the locals on the beach, if you were firm with them then they left you alone. We went on many walks without them hounding us. The rooms were tired and mattresses lumpy but they served their purpose. The food was really good and fresh fish every day! What saddened me the most was that I appeared to be the only one picking up random plastic from the beach during our walks. All the others simply walked on by. Surely we are at that time when everybody needs to do their bit to save this planet? Even the guards stood staring at plastic bottles on the beach. Otherwise, we had a superb time. And we will be back, yet again! Read less

So what can we say.... I’ll keep it short and simple. The resort is beautiful and well maintained. Service as soon as you get there is quite nice and the beaches are beautiful. The food is limited but whatever you eat is excellent, so don’t expect this to be like a trip to the Caribbean where the buffet is exaggerated. The spa services were the best thing on the resort , spend the money it’s worth it. However, in terms of service, nowhere near a 5 star. The drinks are awful and made with cheap no name liquor and if you want liquor you actually recognize it’s very expensive and not included in the all inclusive package. The rooms are super old. We got two twin beds put together with two separate duvet covers and a very dirty mosquito net. The housekeeper would come and clean the room but sometimes she’d put towels and sometimes no. The service in general was very very very slow anywhere you went; the bar, the lounge, the restaurant, the buffet, you name it, just slow. In all honesty, it’s not even the fault of the people working there. They are extremely nice and polite and always smiling but there has to be a huge management problem. Huge language barrier, no matter which part of the world you came from. This was a problem. But by far, the most annoying thing that completely made us want to come home from our honeymoon were the locals selling you everything under the moon on the beach. So the beach is private but the locals stay right at the edge of the do not pass line and stand there from 9-6pm just waiting for you to go in the water, then they wait until you get out, they harass you day in and day out even after buying souvenirs. You couldn’t go for a walk because the locals would follow you to sell you tours, you couldn’t tan because they’d scream out random names in hope that someone would look up. It was to levels I had never seen before and we’ve traveled everywhere. I’m all for supporting the locals but this was exaggerated behaviour towards the tourists. All in all, a nice place but not worth the money at all. It’s also nowhere near a 5 star....that was very misleading! Read less
